I've not been able to get it to work properly for weeks. Right now if I reboot I can access my email but if someone IMs me that's it, everything freezes up... Or, it just sits there and does nothing at all, the little blue guy sits on my taskbar, taunting me with his green square, but nothing works. I reinstalled it today and it worked for all of 5 minutes : /

This seems to be a global problem as I'm in the UK and people that I talk to in Norway, the Philippines and the US are having just as many problems with it.

I hardly ever use MSN anymore, I find that if I do need anyone to talk to, I just use facebook. I just find it easier as I do not know all of my friends e-mails.

Its been giving me trouble every now and then, but mostly because for the past 4months Ive been using Dial-up connection at my work site. So that contributes to it. But today it was giving me lip.

I haven't had problems with MSN lately, but usually I prefer AIM anyway. Or a multi-platform tool like Pidgin or Meebo (though meebo doesn't have custom emotes :()

I just bypass the program entirely, since it's kinda crappy anyways. :)

I like MSN, but I haven't been getting messages from my boyfriend, nor has he been getting them from me.
Same with a lot of my other friends, I'm sure, but it's most obvious with him because we're talking ALL day.

And it's especially bad when my roommate is on Xbox Live...Which since he lost his job is ALL the time. T_T

My MSN works fine! Neiner neiner. Naw just kidding. Sucks for me too because the only two people I talk to with it are having this issue as well. D8

I just got aim. No problems yet.

I find that it's not just MSN but Internet Explorer as well, which is just one more reason to hate it :lol: Firefox FTW!

My MSN has been working just fine. The only issues I've been having with it are actually from my end since my connection got moved around so I'm still finding a good place for the router. Other than that, none over here.

Are the messages not coming through for you guys or do the screens not open or what? I'd like to know the signs of MSN Death in case it happens to me. D=

I've stopped logging into instant messengers a long time ago.
I use google talk and that's it. Its nice because I can just log into my email and be signed on at work to talk to people. And yes, I know yahoo has that now, but I was using Google before yahoo had that implemented.

I haven't been having issues but I've been using the new Beta messenger, have you guy's tried updating your client?

I had to update to get rid of the problems I was having. At first I thought it was my new connection but I tried it at my mom's and it was acting up too.

I've been reluctant to use that due to google's penchant for archiving EVERYTHING. I didn't want logs of my conversations sitting around on a google server somewhere waiting to be discovered. :)

Yeah, Google does log absolutely everything, so I wouldn't use that.

I have the most up-to-date version of Messenger Live! Plus. But it updated a week or so ago and that made no difference to the difficulties that I've been having. Amusingly enough it's working fine today...but then it did for several days last week too, then started throwing a fit again.

When it doesn't work for me it does one of 2 things:

1) The IM window will stop responding.
2) The logo in the taskbar tells me that I'm logged in, but nothing will open, and people who are trying to IM me can't get through to me. They think the message is getting through and that I'm just ignoring them as I show as online, but nothing comes up on my screen.
