There's not really much that needs to be changed. The values and placement are all fairly nice. I like the sunset of the background and the simplicity of the wood structure behind the character. The tear gives some personality to it all and is done well. :)
The only thing that really stands out to me is the hand. Those are always hard! I think the thumb and fingers are sticking too far out from the wrist, so I'd move them so the wrist is more inline with them. If that doesn't look right, then the perspective of the wrist might need to be changed. If that's the case then I would make it so the veins don't really show.
This might just be me, put I'm wondering if the sword is aligned correctly on both sides?
One last thing, The cut where the clothing is frayed, I'd add more blood to it, or I'd put a bandage there too. It seems funny that the character would bandage his chest and not his side if it's a fresh wound!
