I enjoy watching anime, but I prefer to watch small series. Could anyone recommend any to me?

If it helps, some of my favorite are: Elfen Lied, Gunslinger Girls and Haibane Renmei.

Mononoke, Trapeze, Tatami Galaxy. They all have less than 15 episodes.
Mushi-shi has 26 episodes, but 1-2 episode(s) = 1 story so it sorta counts.

I love Elfen Lied. <3 That show is amazing and it made me cry. Another short show that I loved was Pretear. It was only 13 episodes long, but it's probably the only Magical School Girl anime that I'll ever watch and take seriously.

I like House Of Five Leaves. I enjoyed the character development, the little twist in the story, the lush backgrounds, and the artwork.

Give it a whirl.

I think this would be a better fit for the Manga/Anime Forum. I'll just move it along for you. :)

Perhaps Berserk would be up your alley? It's fairly short, at 25 episodes. It is, however, something I would say is probably 'rated R', to use a movie term. However, the character development is quite good, and the end scene left me gaping. To paraphrase someone else's words, "the ending was one of the most poignant things I have ever seen- anime or live-action, western or Japanese."

Another fun series is Baccano!. (Yes, it does have the exclamation mark in the title.) It's 16 episodes long, but the main plot line is done after episode 13. It's gory, but very fun, with an interesting plot and very entertaining character interactions. It's a bit more light-hearted than Berserk, and definitely aiming at a bit of a different audience, but very good nonetheless.

Thank you, I looked for an anime section and couldn't find it...I didn't think it'd be under books.

House of five leaves is an excellent suggestion if you like slow paced anime that are character driven. If you're looking for something a little more light hearted, Moyashimon is a cute 10-12 episode long series.

Pet Shop of Horrors. Only 4 eps long. Wish they did more but I don't think they ever will sadly.

The Petshop of Horrors anime was an epic fail. >> However, the manga is absolutely amazing.

Tokyo Babylon was a short OVA. Only two OVA episodes long. I liked it. 009-1 was a good series too.

Gunslinger Girl isn't a short series. It has two seasons plus an OVA. ;P

Try FLCL. It's really random and a little 'adult', but's a classic, and really funny. Also, Trigun (26 eps) is a huge classic, it was one of the first ones I ever watched.

I recommend Bokura Ga Ita. It only has 26 episodes. It has a very cute love story, but a very sad ending for both the manga and anime. Read the manga also(I haven't yet), it has the continuance of the story.

Angel Beats! is a good anime, and it's quite short, 13 episodes.

IdalDraculai: Trigun is the first anime series I watched. It is absolutely amazing ^.^

One of the shortest one's I've ever watched, "Comedy". About 10 min long and I have to admit it's beautifully done. As for series, meh. I don't believe any series should exceed 50 episodes anyhow. Oo

Strawberry Marshmallow/ Ichigo Mashimaro (you'll see both titles used depending what site you're on) is insanely adorable and only 8 episodes

Princess Princess, I believe, was 13 episodes

Umineko No Naku Koro Ni is 26(?) episodes

Durarara!! was 20-something episodes

Lucky Star was 24 episodes

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was 14 episodes both seasons (I think; it's been a while)

And Axis Powers Hetalia, while there seems to be a number of episodes now, each episode is only 5 minutes long

Lol, Hetalia! There's like, 38 episodes (or more) but you can watch the entire series in a day, and it's seriously hilarious!

I would have to agree Pretear is great I loved it got it on dvd still. but if you like action try out Android Kikaider The Animation it's 24ep's long. yet if you count the 3 ova's it would be 27 but sadly they never been subed only shown in japan on tv.

one other anime I'm looking at right now on Crunchyroll a cute one. is called Lilpri I'm unsure of how long that anime will be but there all most at 25eps right now.
