i have this whole story idea in my head, but whenever i try to write it, it sounds really awful.
i think it's because i see the story as a movie in my head. how can i sort of convert the "movie" in my head to a good enough context for a story?
(i'm not posting what i have so far or what it's about unless it's important)

I get inspiration like that too, but because I always watch movies with subtitles (don't ask me what dialogue has to do with this) I can put words to pictures quite easily. Try writing it as if you were just describing what you see in the movie.

I write graphic novels, maybe you need more of a visual touch...

You could jot down an outline of what you see in your head. Then after you have the outline go back and fill in the details in paragraph form and what lead to what. Take it in steps instead of writing it all down at once.

I've gone head and moved this to our Writing Discussion/Story Help forum.
