Ever reading/watching an anime series and quite enjoying it then get to the end and find the end was very......anticlimatic.......or just plain terrible? This is a thread to discuss A) Anime's that did this to you. Remember though.....if you are going to actually talk about the end put it in spoiler bars. and B) the effect a bad ending has on a series as a whole.

SPOILERX

One of my favorite animes (I watched the anime, never read the manga) was death note....but the last episode made me so mad that now I'm not sure its my favorite anime anymore.

I guess.....it left too many holes. I mean Ryuk made a comment somewhere near the beginning of the series that he would be the ne to write down light's name in the book, but he also mentioned that normal death was not to be light's path.....but in the end....light just.....dies....series over.....Grrr.....

Another terrible ending was Ai Yori Aoshi. The end just.......didn't go anywhere really....the series was cute, both the manga and the anime.....and although the manga ended in a different place then the anime.....both sort of ended in a sad place. in the anime nothing changed....in the manga the group gets torn apart and although aoi and kaoru are able to be together it still comes out sad.

Jyu O Sei was great but at an eleven episode deadline, the last two episode were rushed. If they had been alloted one or two more episodes it could have been fantastic instead of great.

Another was a manga but I can't remember the name.

SPOILERX

It was about a girl hooking up with a guy on holiday in Greece then it turns out he's the brother she never knew she had. The whole series is them wrestling with the choices of being together in a forbidden relationship or not being together and being miserable. In the end he dies and depressed she moves to Greece away from all her family and friends but guess what? He didn't die. No. He faked his death so they could be together forever. The whole series was very dramatic and led to a very clichè ending.

Pumpkin scissors and claymore were both good, but their endings, well, they didn't have endings. It's like the creators just gave up and forgot about them.

Its really agervating when something doesn't end.....although sometimes its not the authors fault. Sometimes the series was cancelled.....as was the sad case with under the glass moon.

Diablo not sure spelled right. The two authors got tired of each other and just ended it.It was only 3 books and the first two were good...

I think that the worst ending that I've encountered was the Tokyo Mew Mew manga.

SPOILERX

Ichigo and her boyfriend, whose name currently escapes me, get married. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a legally binding marriage, though. This bothers me for two reasons:

1. Ichigo is twelve. TWELVE! She's way too young to be getting married! Even if it wasn't legally binding, it was treated as if it was. They were still pledging eternal love and all that jazz. That's a bit serious for twelve-year-olds. :\ I think it should have been toned down a little.

2. That's the exact same thing that happens in the Sailor Moon manga, the only difference being that Usagi was sixteen and quite a bit more mature than Ichigo. As if Tokyo Mew Mew didn't copy from Sailor Moon enough...

Mainly, the latter is what made me dislike that ending so much, though, I still think the former. It's not really a tragic ending or anything, it just severely annoyed me.

I'd have to say the ending of After School Nightmare bugged me.

And although the ending of Fruits Basket made sense... It just royally bugged me for some reason.

The ending to xxxHOLiC. I mean, it was alright but I still went all "WHY YOU DO DIS, CLAMP?!" Buuuut on the upside, at least it isn't on hiatus like X/1999..:/

I really didn't prefer the ending of Cowboy Bebop. It wrapped things up, obviously, but it's also like...seriously?

Cora, I agree with you on the Death Note ending. I just can't even begin to process how bad it was.

Well, the ending of the Claymore anime is not the ending of the Claymore story. It's one of those animes where they ended it after a certain event but the manga continues on. So the ending sucked but it's not really the ending at all.

I can't think of too many crappy endings off the top of my head, but I was definitely disappointed in Kuroshitsuji 2's ending. Then again, I was disappointed in the entire second season, but the ending was pretty terrible.

Does it have to be the end of a series or just a certain season? Because the Code Geass R1 ending really pissed me off and confused me.

And Strawberry Panic! was just absolutely maddening.

SPOILERX

The only reason I read that manga was because Hikari and Amane were so flippin cute together, but then that stupid other girl goes and kisses Hikari and confesses her feelings to her, and I'm like, "Dude-WTF??? Hikari's gonna tell her to fall in a deep well somewhere, because she only has eyes for Amane...right? And then, I flip the page only to find out that that's the end of the book, cuz the freaking company won't continue publishing it. HOW DOES IT END?!? aaaaaAAAAAAARRRRrrGGHH!!!! D,<
