Just curious. :0 I kept a journal when I was little--wrote in it every day, in fact--but stopped around high school and haven't been able to keep one since. x3 It's odd..
I've signed up at various blog-hosting websites too, but nothing's really come of it. *sigh*
I wanted to see if anyone on Mene kept a blog or journal and how they have been able to set aside time to maintain such things...Of course, I also like reading other's blogs.. c:

I have a journal, but nowdays it looks much more as a "to do" or an agenda. I do write once in a while in it but it's usually just when I think that there's something important that day, this way I don't forget the date.
I also tried blogging, usually end up bored with it. The new blog that I just started has four posts in it and I'm allready in the "I'll write something tomorrow" phase. Hope I will manage to keep it up.

Clair has a... diary/journal type book. Except, Clair writes "Dear God" at the start of each entry... 'cause that's how I feel I can pray best. So, rather than speaking through verbal words, or just thinking the prayers, I write out what I need to talk about, what's on my mind, what's on my chest, and also what I hope for in the future for myself, friends and family and direct them to God.
This is something I started on my own. Not because of church, or my family. I just wanted to be closer spiritually, and didn't know how else to do that by write. I try to settle down and relax by writing in it before I head to bed each night. :)

I have a blog. It originally started as the final project in my university computer course (easiest 30% ever) but I decided to try to maintain it. Of course by 'maintain' I mean post something every three months lol. I usually only write something for it when I get really bored or I feel it's something I really need to write about. The latter doesn't happen too often though since my blog is mostly reviews on stuff. Yeah I'm not exactly a prime example on how to maintain a blog XD

@Hedera: I know exactly what you mean. xDD I use my notebooks and notepads for to-do lists and things (I don't think I could manage my college schedule if I didn't write out everything I needed to get done throughout the week). And I tend to get bored with blogging, too.
@Clair Voyant: So you have a kind of prayer journal? :0 I have wanted to start one of those for a while (especially since I will be working as a counselor at a Methodist camp over the summer), but my college schedule has been so time-consuming.. x3 I'm glad it's finally summer so I can actually devote some time to things like this.
@Obsidian Raven's Song: Heh...My main problem is that my life isn't particularly interesting. xD I haven't traveled much, nor do I have any hobbies that I could really write about (I draw, but...a picture's already worth a thousand words, right?).

I have a blog -- it's reverse story-telling in a sense -- there is an underlying story, but I write the morals instead. Sort of the coded fables alchemists wrote way back in the day...

Yes, they are stories I make up, except it is something of a mirror image. The story is the undercurrent, but how characters think and feel and the lessons they learn is what I actually write about. It's the backbone for a book of short stories I am currently writing; so it's like having my notes online. It's fun for me to work out characters, story lines, and the message of my book. I tell people it's my author's laboratory where new characters and concepts are created, and I can visualize them as I get to know my characters as I watch them form and evolve...

I have a diary. It has some of my life story written out, and some of my family's. It also has a lot of quotes in it when I'm feeling particularly wise. Lol. It's mostly my worries, though, and anyone who picked it up would think I was infinitely depressed because I really only write in it when I have a serious problem with my life.
I'd like to start a blog, though. I have this urge to want people to read what I write, and to let people be eased through hearing my own strifes or seeing my little bits of wisdom written down.

@Clair Voyant: Well, I certainly don't think it's dumb. c: As I said, I've been meaning to start one myself.
@ElysiumFate: Ooo...It sounds like the sort of thing they've found left over from the American Civil War and the World Wars and whatnot. :D If I were ever to start (and then continue to use) a blog or journal, I'd like for it to serve as a kind of time line or guide for important events in my life. I have a tendency to forget events in my past that caused me great emotional pain, but ultimately end up erasing entire months or years from my memory in the process. x3 It's really odd.
@Xrabbite: I love tumblr. :0 I have a couple of friends who use it as well. x3

@Phantom: I do that too. Not so much years...but emotional disturbances, yes. Like...I'm rather sure I'll forget how much I loved my ex boyfriend, and I'll also forget that he ever loved me, then I'll probably forget he existed, eventually. It's my mind's way of coping. I can't/don't want to/am tired of deal(ing) with it, so I regress it. I occasionally dredge up things from my past and write them in my diary years later to help myself fully heal from them, though...
And, yeah. My Diary is (in ways) like Anne Frank's Diary. I want people who pick up my diaries in the future (if anyone ever does) to have a feeling for what it was to live in these times, and what it was to live as me. But mostly, I just write them to give myself something to look back at.

I have a blog that I'm trying to maintain as a way to preserve my sanity. One in PT (it's more personal) and one in the universal language, which is more of a... Well, actually, you can decide what it is for yourself. I've already had a complaint that I'm "copying" another blog, but hey, that's just flattering. Had it for a few months, so far so good! I've had a few before but had to delete them all. Sadface.

I used to keep a journal obsessively, when I was younger. Then I got scared one too many times that someone might read it. My mother did so on one little visit and then "poof." There went my security.
Now my habits are a little worse. Periodically, I will try to journal because I believe it was good for me. Primarily, though, I scatter my thoughts everywhere... so that letters to friends have elements of journal, my walls are covered in images and quotations, I throw vague thoughts into arbitrary places... Though this all "expresses" what I think and feel, it's not cohesive or direct enough to make me feel better/happy/relieved.
So not having a journal seems to have made me a spaz.
Maybe I should keep one again?
You're right, though, it's hard to maintain time for them. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh hell yes, I've been writing in a diary since I was eleven. (fifteen now)
Not the same exact diary XD, just whenever I'd fill one diary thingy completely up, I'd buy a new one, and start daily writing in it. Just to go back on old memories, see how I was and what exactly I was doing back then...I have about, 4 now. ^^
And I love the blogs on here. They're just my online diary. ;33

@Elysium: Yeah.. x| My entire freshman year of college is just a blur. I'd broken up with my boyfriend of three years (he was my first-ever boyfriend, by the way) and the whole situation was something I'd never had to deal with before.
The Diary of Anne Frank is one of my all-time favorite books, by the way. x3 I cried bitterly when I read the last passage and suddenly realized that the only part left was the epilogue. .___.
@NeuzaKC: Ooo...Why'd you have to delete them? D:
@Zombee: I see that we're in the same boat with this one. x3 I am determined, however. :0 I /will/ maintain a diary this summer!
@colorsbold: I imagine that if I were to actively set aside a little time before I go to bed each night, or a little time after I wake up each morning to sit down and write in the darn thing, I could probably maintain a blog or diary relatively easily. It would just be a matter of remembering and forcing oneself to do so. x3
@冬のソナタ: :0 ..truly, you are a stronger person than I. *grovels*
@Xrabbite: You have 130 followers? xD I'd say that's pretty good..

I've kept a diary since i was about 12, and i'm now 20. I usually do it at the end of the day, as a nice rewind of the last day, or few days if i've been lax. I have to admit that i've become increasingly less interested in it's upkeep in the last month, and my current one has the most empty pages.

When I was little (fifth grade or so) I used to keep a journal. But when I went back to read them years later, I realized that even back then, it was just so... forced. My fifth grade self didn't have anything to say in a journal that I wanted to remember. I remembered everything happy on my own, so all I wrote down was the occasional negative. It's much easier for me to talk to friends about what's bogging me down, and have another voice to reason with... or the internet. :)
