Hello there~
I've decided to write out my web comic Lucifer, My King to help me prepare for future chapters, character developments, the plot line, and other things. All of this is original and written by me, and is well researched. I make references to characters from the series Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler because the very original first version of this story was based around Grell Sutcliffe, so I still try to keep homage to that, just for little giggles for me~
THIS IS A YAOI. MEANING BOY ON BOY ACTION. Nothing to severe since I have to censor it, but it's still a yaoi.
You are more then welcome to read this story and post comments, feed-back, and what not. Please do not steal my work or anything, or I'll be sad~
Everything will be done in chapters, each on being the same title as the manga/anime titles of Kuroshitsuji. "That butler", but instead "The King" More homage. :'D
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'll be more than glad to answer them.
So lets begin! ^^
"The King, His Morning"
The rise of the red sun peaked through the waste-land mountains and acid lake that lay beneath it. Towering over the lake was a massive dreary looking cliff that had a single rotten tree growing at the top, housing the many bats that lived in the area. Behind the tree stood a large brick wall that had massive pointed peaks at the top, preventing further entrance to what lay outside. Grey and damaged, these walls have stood in their place for hundreds of century's and will continue to do so until the end of time.
Behind the large walls stood another wall similar in looks, but lower. Behind that stood what it was protecting: The Castle of King Lucifer. It was designed similar in style of that of the Gothic architecture; large towers and iron-rod gates added to the intimidation that the castle was trying to attain. Many stone gargoyles protecting the inside walls with their fierce looks and red diamond eyes. A large tower stood to the left of the inner wall, that was where the King slept.
The inside of the castle was that of Victorian decor with a touch of medieval touches here and there. The furniture was of high class, made of only the best fabric's available on Earth and in Hell. The rugs were neatly kept, the walls neatly dusted, and all the wooden railings polished and shined every morning. The lamps were turned on by means of candles, and the scent of the air was always dull and stale. Demons had no need for such simple things, but King Lucifer wanted everything to be the way he wanted it, but no matter how many times he's requested such a simple task, none of his servants would do so, stating that it would effect their work for such a needless smell, when in general they enjoyed the stale air.
The hallways were large and wide, the walls covered in paintings of high class demons, Lucifer, and anything of his interested from Earth. There were many guest bedrooms that were always kept clean, but no body ever used them. Lucifer didn't like having guests over, saying that they were just moochers seeking the good life he actually really didn't want in the first place. Large windows stretched all the way down the corridor where the stair's to the tower stood. Only one demon was allowed through those door beside the King himself, and that was the King's loyal butler and long-time friend Tadao Vladimir. He held everything responsible for the well-kept castle, serving every order the King requested, fulfilling the tasks any normal butler would do, and assigning jobs to other servants to keep everything in order so that the King would never have to worry about how dirty his castle was.
Tadao Vladimir was a powerful demon, coming from the legendary and highly esteemed demon clan, the Vladimir's. Raised to be a cold blooded killer, Tadao fought in the War of Heaven as a private fighter who's fighting of choice was with blades and fire; for the entire Vladimir family's elemental power was fire, who usually used that power as their weapon, but Tadao kept it simple, other then the fact that his blades were black and hilts were solid gold. They were his prized items and never let anyone but himself wield such a simple weapon. However, Tadao never was the fighting type, only reason he became such a deadly demon was to keep to the family name. For the Vladimir's were a clan that have many skilled fighters, healers, and sorcerers. Anyone baring the Vladimir name were greatly respected and worked closely with the King. But Tadao was different.
Since the day they met, he sworn loyalty to Lucifer during the War of Heaven, before Lucifer led the demons into battle. No one knows why he sworn such loyalty that he still upholds today, but no one really cares, for a Vladimir working so closely to the King as he does, he brought much honor to his family, raising their rank even higher. Yet his Father didn't agree, he felt shame from his son and disowned him, stripping his name as a Vladimir and being outcast from the family. Only his brother still talks to him, but rarely and in secrete. Communication for Tadao from anyone in the family was strict. Tadao accepted his outcast, claiming that Lucifer was all the family he needed.
Those who worked for King Lucifer became very jealous of Tadao very quickly, mostly among the female group. They viewed the King as the most beautiful demon in the entire race and would do anything to get him to notice the girls, in hopes of becoming his queen or lover. For some reason, Lucifer detested union with another creature, stating that all they wanted was power, money, and popularity. He said once that he was considering someone, but later denied such a statement. Lucifer confuses many creatures for he was a difficult one to read, only Tadao seemed to know how the King worked, but wouldn't share anything.
- - - - -
Every morning, there was a routine, a never ending repeating cycle that would never change. 6:00 AM the servants would wake, prepare the meals for those who lived in the castle, cleaned everything, and tended to the gardens, before the King awoke, and tended to other needs in order to keep the castle functioning properly. Tadao always awoke at 5:00 AM to prepare his separate duties, make the long list of things that needed to be done for the day, prepare a selection of food for the King, and choose only the finest wine for him to drink once awake. Lucifer never liked eating in his room or at a large table, so Tadao always served the King his food in a small room near the kitchen that was off limits when the King was inside.
Once everything was prepared, at 6:30 AM, Tadao made the long journey through the halls and up the taller tower which was 15 stories high. He and Lucifer had to make this trip twice a day, rarely any more than that. Tadao once questioned why he chose to live in such a high place that required so much work for both of them just to reach the top or bottom, Lucifer responded, saying that the view at just the right moment of every night was worth it. A view Tadao never saw, since he always retired for the evening at 8:30 PM.
Up the stairs he went, holding with him a few sheets of papers on a silver clipboard, trotting up the stairs as fast as he could, occasionally using his skills as a fighter to jump high distances, higher than what most demons could do. This saved time, but he would always have to take a short break before entering Lucifer's bedroom so he wouldn't look tired or his uniform was disturbed in any way. He took much pride in his appearance; his long red hair tied up with a large red bow and his bangs neatly swept to the side. His white suit perfect from any stains, as if he were wearing it for the first time. A light gray vest and a white dress shirt, white gloves, a black tie and shoes, this was hit outfit everyday with minor different details. He always smelled like strawberries and always managed to stay clean, no matter how hard he worked and how busy he was.
Tadao stood outside Lucifer's door, looking at his watch until it was 6:30 AM , the time he was to be awakened. He waited patiently in the gloomy stairway waiting for the big hand to reach the thirty minute mark. A few more minutes until it reached where it should be, but it felt like a lifetime for him. Tadao enjoyed seeing the King, the first person that he woke up to. He loved everything about his job, despite being Lucifer's closest friend. Many questioned that Tadao had a crush on the King, but Tadao pushed their ideas away, saying that there was no feelings for him other than a friend and King. Yet the rumors weren't entirely correct. Something was there, but no one knew what it was.
Finally the big hand reached the thirty minute mark, making it 6:30 AM, the time the King should be awoken to begin his duties. Tadao put his pocket watch away, unlocked the doors with a specific key made of bronze, and opened the double doors, walking inside shutting the doors behind him so no one could see the King when he awakes. He walked over to the Kings large canopy bed and set the papers by his night stand.
"My King, it is time to wake up and begin your day." He said in a low tone, the same tone he used every morning. With no response, he repeated again but a little louder, each time until the King finally awoke. With a shift in position and a groan as he turned away from Tadao, Lucifer had awoken and wanted more sleep, as he did every morning but was forbidden to do so due to Tadao's constant nagging to get him out of bed.
After a few moments passed, Tadao grew impatient and ripped the covers off of his bed, displeasing the King from the sudden rush of cold air that wrapped around his body. "Wake up, Lucifer!" He yelled. Only once and awhile could Tadao use such an informal tone with the King, but Lucifer didn't care. He enjoyed it when his friend called him by his name, instead of 'My King' every day.
Shortly after Tadao's shout did Lucifer sit up and stared at his friend with eyes of disgust, but he didn't despise Tadao, his eyes always looked like he was about to kill someone, but in fact he had a deep appreciation for his friend and would do anything to preserve his friendship with him. He would give up everything he had worked hard for to keep Tadao as a friend, he would kill anybody who tried to get between them, and he would even kill himself of Tadao had wished it. Yet Tadao didn't know how much he would do for him, only such minor details since they were the only family they had, referring each other as brothers even.
Truth be told, Lucifer loved Tadao since they first met, love at first sight. Everyday he regrets not telling how he felt that day. And as time went on did it become more difficult to try and say it. Now he doesn't even try at all, convinced that it was too late. Their friendship was more important then admitting such a deep secrete that could ruin everything. He's tried to move on but he just couldn't. Whenever he felt extreme sorrow for his regret, he drowned his emotions with wine almost every night, forgetting all the emotions and finding peace with himself that only alcohol could bring him now. A bad habit it was, but it was the only thing that even tried to heal this wound on his heart.
Lucifer yawned and scratched his head with his glove-covered hand. He always wore his gloves, no matter what, and he was terrified of taking them off, along with his bandages wrapped around his torso, hiding the engraved wounds on his back that he has no recollection on how they were put there. It's something he doesn't want to find out unless he absolutely needed to. Lucifer looked at his ebony black hair which was long only on one side by means of a strip. It was long and dull, he wanted to change it. He looked over to Tadao who stood only a few feet away, holding the King's blanket.
"Tell Pin to get here to give me a hair cut and strip the color out of it as well." He ordered, not showing any emotion what so ever.
Tadao nodded his head, pulled out a small remote from the inside of his coat pocket, and clicked the only button on it, sending a signal to an outside building where Pin and his twin sister, Era, lived in. "He should be on his way, my King." Tadao replied with a faint smile.
Lucifer nodded his head and pulled himself out of bed, putting on the long jacket he wore yesterday to keep himself warm. He walked over to the other side of the room and sat in the large red chair that stood in front of the large window that over looked everything. Tadao had brought over some wine that was always kept in a cabinet in the room for easier access to the King. He poured a glass and handed it to Lucifer who always expected it every morning. "While I wait, pick out the suit I should wear today." Lucifer ordered.
"Anything specific, my King?" Tadao asked with another faint smile.
"I'll let you decide." He replied.
"Understood." Tadao said, bowing and retreating to the large closet that stood exactly behind Lucifer's chair. Once inside, he began browsing the hundred of suits Lucifer had collected during his reign as King, most of them designed and hand made by Tadao himself, since he had proved to be the best sewer in all of Hell. Whenever Lucifer wanted a new suit to wear, he would give the details of what he wanted to Tadao, he would sketch them out, show the King, and proceeded to the construction of his newest project, making sure it was exactly how Lucifer intended it to be. Each time it was a success.
"What should the King wear today? Perhaps something he hasn't worn in awhile. Something blue and black, with a touch of purple." Tadao said to himself and he browsed the large collection, looking at every suit and giving his judgment. He found one and looked at it a bit more than the others, deciding whether or not he should choose it. "He hasn't worn this in ages." He muttered. A few seconds later, he made his decision, choosing the blue Victorian swallowtail coat with matching pants, cane, and accessories. Tadao nodded his head and proceeded to exit the closet, carefully shutting the doors behind him and returned to the King.
Pin had already arrived while he was in the closet, having already administering the hair cut and stripping that Lucifer had requested. He kept his ebony black hair, but one white strip ran across his bangs, and two across the long piece that hung from hist right side, reaching to his collar bone. He stood up from his chair, approving of Pin's efforts, because for one he had done something right that didn't blow up in everyone's faces.
Pin and Era were the leaders of the death god administration. They were the original death gods who collected others to reap the souls of the humans who had died on Earth, judging who went where and what their afterlife should be. They kept a large collection of soul records of every human that had died, details of their life, and where they ended up. The collection was so massive that everything was stored in a very large library that took up a whole country in Hell, and it was ever expanding. Lucifer once asked why they didn't remove older files, Era responded, saying that they needed it in order to make connections to other souls that might have been lost, thus reincarnated; something that happened only a few times in the entire existence of the human race.
Pin was also a scientist who constantly experimented on many subjects for many other reasons, some useful and some pointless. Whenever he invented a new potion, it would always cause disaster and a large explosion that destroyed one part of the castle, causing Lucifer to become very angry and punishing the death god. Pin feared Lucifer, for his anger was very scary and struck fear into those who witnessed such a fury. Era was always on the Kings good side, since she did what she needed to do, which caused her to have more respect among the vast majority of the death gods.
"For once you didn't mess things up." Lucifer said. This was his way of complimenting others, a rather harsh way though.
"I have returned with your suit, my King." Tadao said. Lucifer turned around to face his friend, and when Tadao saw the new look the King had done to his hair, a small blush appeared on his cheeks, but quickly vanished. "Your hair looks nice. Very original yet simple." He said with a smile.
"Whatever. I only did it because I was bored." Lucifer replied walking up to him. "My life here as become too predictable and I seek change. It's boring and dull, makes me not want to get out of my bed ever morning." Lucifer continued.
"Hell is an utter mess without your rule. Without you, all of us would revert back to our barbaric and savage ways before you became King. Everyone has agreed that us demons do not want to go back to that, thus we look to you for the prevention of this." Tadao explained. "We all appreciate what you've done for us so far, keeping order and balance. You are the leader that we needed." He finished with another smile.
Lucifer just looked at him as if he said something wrong. He was well aware that Lucifer didn't like his job as King, and in fact never wanted to be the one in the first place. He felt as though he was forced into it shortly after the War of Heaven, and that he never got to experience the life he could have lived as a famous war hero, instead of a famous King. "Anyone can be a King. It just takes the right knowledge and leadership skills to do so." He replied.
"And that is you." Era interrupted, stepping next to Tadao. "No matter what you say or how you think, you are the only one who fits this role. Heaven has their ruler, Hell finally has one. The balance is completed, but without you, chaos would ensue and everything will be thrown out of order." She explained. "I know you are one to keep balance, so would you really allow that if you were to step down as King?" She asked.
Lucifer just stared at them and narrowed his amethyst eyes, his anger rising. Tadao noticed his change in emotion and quickly veered the conversation into another direction to avoid conflict. "I-I have left some papers by your night stand, my King. It's your schedule for the day." He said, pointing in the direction of his night stand was.
With a deep sigh and a short moment of silence, Lucifer looked over to where Tadao was pointing, and walked over to it. The dreaded paper that he had to look at every morning, a list compiled of things that he needed to do, more like forced to do. He groaned and picked up the papers and skimmed through the long list. He had to review several laws that are wished to be passed, attending a meeting with his advisors, attend a banquet for a high ranked noble, a public viewing of the King in the throne room, and forty-five other things of less importance. Everyday he had to over look some kind of law that reached his desk after elimination of others, and his advisors came to him almost daily explaining things that should be of concern, but most of the time it's just pointless things that needed to be changed to make their lives easier. After reading his list, he plopped the papers back down on his night table and fell back into his bed with a sigh of distress. "I hate my job." He said to himself.
Pin and Era bowed in respect and left the room, leaving Lucifer and Tadao alone. They never stayed in their presence for long if not needed, for they knew that Lucifer didn't like extended visits from anyone but Tadao. They retreated back to their small house located outside of the castle. Old, broken down, and oddly shaped, this place was perfect for the two crazy twins.
Tadao walked over to his friend with a stern glare. "Get out of bed, Lucifer." He hissed.
"Cant I just have one day off?" Lucifer asked, hiding his face underneath one of his pillows. It wasn't long until the pillow was removed from his head forcefully, and the first sight Lucifer saw was an angry Tadao bearing over him as if he were his mother trying to get her son out of bed for school.
"Get up." He hissed.
Lucifer glared. "You cant tell me what to do." He hissed back. He was enjoying the sight of Tadao hovering over his body, he wanted to just reach up and grab him but he was immobilized to do so.
Tadao grabbed a hold of Lucifer's arms and proceeded to pulling him out of bed, but to no avail. Although Tadao was a skilled swordsmen and fighter, he wasn't really physically strong, unlike Lucifer who chose hand on hand combat with his element water assisting him. So he was able to prevent Tadao from getting him up. Childish as it was, he found it amusing to see Tadao get into such a fuss. Before Tadao gave up, Lucifer stood up quickly, letting Tadao crash into the floor.
"Can we please hurry so we don't fall of schedule?" Tadao asked, pulling himself off of the floor.
Lucifer groaned. "Fine." He replied.

Here's the next chapter! Sorry for taking so long, I've recently started college and the homework is killing me! So much to do. >___<
The King, His problem.
Tadao helped dress his King, as with every morning. Tied his ties, put on his shoes, brushed his hair, and made sure the King looked as fashionable as possible for the publics eye. He never wore anything lower than Victorian clothing, for Lucifer once stated that the newer fashion lines are tasteless and flat. The older clothing of Victorian style was the peak of high fashion, and so he stuck to that, but adding his own touches; such as his trademark spiked shoulder pads.
Once he was dressed and ready to go, he and Tadao descended the tower, heels clacking against the stone stairs, echoing through the small tower. Tadao walked behind the King, holding the same things he carried up the stairs a little over an hour ago. There was a smile on his face as she stared at the back of Lucifer's head, admiring both his King and his new hair style. A new signature look added to his person.
As they reached the end of the stairs, Tadao opened the door for Lucifer, letting him access the long and wide hallway that had many windows, letting in the light the sun had to offer. They strolled through the long hallway, slowly reaching the end in silence. Once again they stood in front of large doors that matched the ones on the other end of the hallway, and Tadao opened them as well, Lucifer passing through the doors first as always. On the other side of the doors was a large main hall that had many pillars scattered about, keeping the structure in place. Fire-lit lanterns, paintings, awards, and historical documents hung on many area's of the walls to add decoration, and long strips of red velvet rug sprawled across the floor to indicate walkers were to go.
Lucifer walked on one of the rugs, his cane and shoes clacking together in harmony, with Tadao's heels adding rhythm. A perfect symmetry of sound and measure flew in the air perfectly, complimenting each other in an endless dance. Both their tail coats flew in the small wind behind them, as if they too were dancing to the sound as it echoed through the large room. No body else was in this room, or even in the building for that matter, for Lucifer had a private part of the castle that was detached from the rest to insure privacy and security.
More large doors stood in front of them, but this time they were opened by the power of unseen hands, screeching open from the rusted hinges rubbing against each other as they did every day. As they swung open, Lucifer pressed forward, entering the inner wall of the outside castle, the stale air so apparent, almost unnoticeable to those so used to is, to almost every demon, shinigami, and damned creature living in Hell. The creatures that live on Earth would find the air almost toxic, due to their vulnerable state and dependability in the Human world, and this air is deadly to any non-damned creature that dares to enter Hell, especially the humans. Lucifer, however, detested this air, and preferred the air of the human world, as it was fresh and filled with many sweet fragrances he enjoyed so much. Yet he hated visiting the human world more than he hated his job as King.
He was unwillingly forced to become the King of Hell after the tie between the war with Heaven; the only thing that really compelled him to take up such a job was his desire for balance between all three worlds, a trait almost non-existent to any creature that ever existed. Heaven had God, Earth had the Pope, but before Lucifer's inauguration, and even his existence for that matter, Hell had no one to lead it's race, leaving it some-what unprotected from invasion; which the Angel's took advantage of to cleanse the universe of such vile creatures. Now that Hell had a King, the most powerful demon to ever exist, balance was created, and the three worlds entered a time of peace, even if much tension and hate between all the worlds was very common. Tadao also wished for Lucifer to become King, after leading the demon race into battle with information on the angels he somehow possessed, and not even him knew how he acquired such information, but took it to his advantage, for an undying hatred for the angels was engraved into his body and soul, and he didn't know why. Perhaps it was because he was a demon, that all demons have this trait regardless? The only clue he had was the terrible scars carved into his back, that wont seem to ever heal, no matter how many treatments he went through.
Although Lucifer hated his job, he was a great leader, choosing the best choice to keep balance, even to his people's detest. Many of the demons wanted the war to return so that a side could finally win, their side. All demons believed that they were the superior race, and would do anything to prove so. But due to a law passed by Lucifer days after he was crowned King, he forbidden any demon to pick a fight with the angels, but left the humans up for grabs, but only to obtain a soul they loved to devour. Loyal to their King, the race followed that law, no matter how much they wanted to ripped the wings off of the angels. One false move, one attack, could bring war back and throw the balance off once again if one side losed.
Lucifer didn't think much of his hatred for anything. In fact, he didn't think much at all if it wasn't important. The only thing that ran through his mind was the duties he was forced to complete and his love Tadao. Everyday he was plagued with the thoughts of Tadao, dreaming that one day they could be together, yet it was only a dream, most likely unobtainable.
Time pressed on as they walked the cobblestone pathway lined with blank bushes with no accent to add into the pure elegance that surrounded the entire estate. The bushes would only bloom once every five years with the very rare Blood Lilly, which happened to be the most foul scented plant to ever exist in Hell, yet it was in high demand for the absolute beauty it had engraved onto his deep red petals.
The pathway was long, and passed many objects placed through out the inner wall. Statues, fountains, gardens, and more, neatly placed in various locations to attract the eyes of those who passed by. Yet the only people to pass by were occasional servants, Tadao, and the King himself. Over the course of thousands of years the sight became boring to those used to it, yet new servants who were granted the honor to enter the private castle of Lucifer stopped and gawked at the amazing beauty each lawn ornament had to offer. The statue's erected in the honor of many powerful demons, but none of the King himself. In fact, there wasn't a single statue, painting, or picture of the King other than the ones Tadao had collected in a secrete book over the years, most of their adventures to Earth.
Only Tadao knew why Lucifer didn't have his face plastered all around the castle and Hell in general. He viewed himself as a rare species of the demon race and didn't want anyone to have the privileged to gaze upon him unless invited to do so, which is why he was locked away in his office for many hours, and always seemed to evade the servants if possible. Yet those who were given the opportunity to gaze upon their King, it would be the talk of the town. What outfit he wore, changes to his appearance, what he could possibly be doing, and more quickly spread through the towns and cities like a plague. Since he had no photo's or paintings of himself, they believed that it was because he was so busy doing his duties as King to ensure the peace to continue in Hell.
As the middle castle grew larger and larger as they walked towards it, another large door lay before them at the end of the path way, it too opened by the power of unseen hands. Inside, a row of servants waited in rows on opposite sides of the door waiting for their King, and once he entered they all bowed in harmony to show their respect. "Welcome Back, my King." was echoed through the large room as if programmed into the walls itself.
Without a word Lucifer and Tadao pressed forward, ignoring those who they passed. Up a large stair case they both went, ascending to the third floor where the room he was requested to go to was located. Once out of the sight of the servants did they scatter to continue their duties to keep the castle running efficiently. Any mistakes, slacking off, or goofing around would cause immediate punishment, which usually was termination and banishment from the estate, was issued by Tadao himself. He did not enjoy cleaning up for others and adding onto his own duties. If one caused more of a mess then what they needed to clean up, it was considered a purdon to not just the other servants including Tadao, but to the King himself due to the fact that he paid them to take care of everything. Wasting his money was a horrible law to break, and everyone feared of it.
New servants had to learn quickly how to handle massive tasks, how to execute them properly, and avoid any mistakes at all costs. If one couldn't handle such a load, then they were immediately terminated and the next one from the long waiting list would be given the chance. Those who proved themselves worthy soon became competitors among themselves trying to crawl their way to the top in hopes of being Tadao's replacement. But those who've worked in the castle longer than most already knew that it was impossible to compete with Tadao. He was absolutely perfect and the King's favorite, not including his closest friend.
As the two walked down the short corridor, they were greeted by the crazy duo Pin and Era standing in front pair of small double doors, one opposite of each other guarding the room from anyone entering that wasn't invited. Once their sights of each other have been exchanged as Lucifer and Tadao walked up to them. Era kept her emotional blank face while Pin had a look of fear. They didn't exchange words, expressions, or anything, just passing each other by as if strangers. Era opened the door as both she and her twin brother bowed as Lucifer and Tadao walked inside.
Once inside, three people were standing in front of a large wooden desk waiting for their King. The three strangers, two being boys and the other a girl, were in fact the King's trusted advisors, who often handled many of the things before they even reached Lucifer, to cut down his work load and make sure he isn't bother with anything that doesn't need his attention. They also protect certain files from the public, to ensure that top secrete information doesn't become known to someone who could use it to their advantage. The other part of their job, the most annoying to Lucifer, was to inform the King on what steps he should take to ensure a proper ruling. What got on Lucifer's nerves the most was their inability to do anything properly. One of them would always mess up something and come to Lucifer, blaming it on someone else so that they don't get in trouble.
Lucifer and Tadao walked passed the trio and over to the desk, where Lucifer sat behind in a large gray cushioned chair while Tadao stood next to him with his arms behind his back. "Why have I been called here today?" Lucifer asked.
"We're hear to talk about something that happened over night." The one girl said. Her name was Crow, and she was the flirt of the group, but she knew had to be serious when needed. She dressed rather differently, with casual clothing and armor mixed together. She wore a long gray trench coat that reached to her knees, the edges trimmed with white fur. Her shoulders had cob--web inspired armor that were gilded into sharp points. She wore a black leather top and short leather skirt, along with black stockings and black laced-up knee high boots. She also wore black gloves that spiked out past the wrists. Her hair was a dark-blond and was pulled into a messy pony-tail settled on the right side of her head. Red lipstick covered her lips with a ultimate shine, and her eyes a brilliant blue. Underneath her left eye were three small white circles as if they were tattoos, but in fact were the mark for her contract with being one of Lucifer's advisors. If removed, she would die.
"We seeeeem to beee missingggg an important fileeeee from our libraryyyy." The second member said. His name was Shadow, and he was a rather odd creature, with his white hair hanging in front of his face, hiding his eyes, and shrouded in a dark gray cloak, covering both the top of his head, arms, and the rest of his body. He too, had armor on his body, completely covering his shoulders and the top of his chest, it too ending in fine points curved upward. He spoke in a rather slurred manner and carried out the sounds of 'ee' or anything similar to it for reasons unknown. His voice low and almost scratchy as if he needed to have a drink of water after weeks of none. He too had three white circles on him, but on his right hand instead, symbolizing his contract as well.
"When we arrived to our library, everything was ransacked and destroyed." The third one said. "Once we organized everything to get the bearings back together, the file on the fallen angel Satan has been reported missing from our servers." He finished. His name was Raeven, and he dressed in basic clothing of just white jeans and a white dress shirt. His hair was also white, but swept to the side. One of his eyes were green while the other was glossed over and blinded by a wound he received during the War of Heaven. He was the leader of the group and took his job very seriously, and often didn't approve of Tadao being so close to the King, for reasons unknown. His contract mark couldn't be seen, but was located on his back, but with larger white circles to indicate his important role of the group as the keeper of Lucifer's archives; files that only he could see, and that Raeven could only retrieve.
Lucifer leaned back in his chair, slightly annoyed by yet another problem these three caused by their carelessness. He didn't really know how to respond to what they were saying, such an important file on a legendary creature could prove dangerous to the balance of Heaven and Hell, that someone who would use the information to return the war that has been put on hold for centuries. Lucifer sung his chair around to face the large window behind him, turning his back on the three advisors in anger. He couldn't stand to look at them right now, for one false word that anyone in the room would have said could set his anger loose, lashing out at everyone and causing a huge commotion. His rage was something not to be tempered with, and many people feared it and did their best to avoid it at all costs, yet sometimes it was unavoidable.
"We have compiled a list of suspects that could have stolen the file." Shadow said, pulling out a small rolled up piece of paper from his sleeves, unrolled it and placed it on the King's desk. "We've narrowed down to only three people who could have possibly stolen the file, for their rank and ability to get into our library." He added, stepping back in line with his fellow advisors.
Lucifer didn't turn around, trying his best to calm down. Instead, Tadao picked up the piece of paper, and right when he was about to hand over the list to Lucifer, he caught a glimpse of the names, and he too started to get angry, but he said nothing so he wouldn't upset his King. Tadao walked over to Lucifer's side and handed him the list, which he jerked out of Tadao's hand, not meaning to direct his anger to his friend. With a glimpse of the list, the three names made his anger take control of him as he flung the chair around and jolted up, baring his shark-pointed teeth and eyes full of rage. "How dare you accuse these creatures. What possible evidence to you have that could cause you three to suspect them?!" He yelled.
The three flinched and quickly bowed their heads in respect, and not to look into the fierce eyes of their King. "Please forgive us for angering you." They all said in harmony. Raeven was the first to stand straight and stare into the devil's eyes. He wasn't really afraid of Lucifer, he wasn't really afraid of anything in general. He looked straight into the King's eyes with no fear and no emotion.
"Please me for being so bold to say that these suspects are the most logical choice. Much research went into these three and we know for certain that one of these has committed this crime." Raeven said with seriousness.
"Do your research again! These three would never go against their loyalty to me, nor would they commit such a crime. Your reasons are obscure with no real back bone." Lucifer hissed. "Do not come back to me about this problem until you get proper results!" He finished before sitting back in his chair, swinging it around again to face the window.
"King Lucifer, please understand this-"
"Dismissed!" Lucifer yelled from his chair. Not another word was spoken as the three advisors left the room as quickly as they could. They headed back to their library located underground with maximum security. There were three levels in which their library had, the first being easy to get into if one had the right access code, key, and DNA. The second was meant for the advisors and only they could get in, using special doors for each of them, scanning their entire body to ensure it was them, along with a blood sample and hair test. The third level was the hardest to get access to, and only Raeven had the privilege to enter, only under strict orders of the King himself. A long and dangerous series of trials was needed before even reaching the door of the third level. Salavia, blood, hair, body scan, signature from Lucifer, voice recognition, access code, access pass, and power scan was needed before getting to the third door, in which Raeven had to type in a long code for the certain file to be achieved.
Lucifer understood this process perfectly, for he was the one to create it to ensure the protection of his most secrete files. Tadao understood the basics, but it was too hard for him to remember the small details. He wasn't good with math, unlike Lucifer who excelled in it.
"I don't understand why they would accuse me. I don't even know how to get into the third level of their library, let alone the second." Tadao said, sitting on the corner of Lucifer's desk. He spoke with sorrow and guilt, which he had no reason to feel guilty. It was just in his nature to accept the blame for everything, since his job usually required that so a servant wasn't to be lashed out from Lucifer's rage. He knew that the King wouldn't harm him, which is why he sought to protect the servants that became his friends.
Lucifer took a deep sigh before turning to his long time friend. "I don't understand either, which is why I got so defensive." He replied. His rage seemed to slowly vanish as they spoke. Tadao always had this ability, whether he tried or not, to calm the Kings nerves.
"I hope their new and improved research gives out a different list of suspects." Tadao said with a hopeful smile, but he forced out that smile just for the sake of Lucifer not have to worry about his true feelings of quilt and sorrow. However, Lucifer looked right through his friend's hollow smile and wanted to comfort him, but he didn't know what way would be proper. A hug would lead him to do something more, which is why they rarely hugged, or even touched in general unless Tadao decided to bonk Lucifer on the head for his stupidity or laziness.
"If they accuse you again, they will suffer more than just me yelling at them." Lucifer said in a low tone to prove that he wasn't joking.
Tadao's smile quickly vanished after his friend said that. "Don't do that. I don't want them to accuse the wrong person, than that will lead to the wrong results if they narrow it down to just one person." Tadao replied, leaning closer.
Lucifer's heart quicked the pace when Tadao leaned closer. In his mind he imagined himself just pecking his friend on the lips, hoping it would turn into something more. "If they accuse you, then it's defaulted as false accusation. I will not face you going through a trial of high treason which is just natural for you to not do." Lucifer said. "Nothing can prove that you would do such a thing, and I'd rather die myself before knowing your fate." He added looking away.
Tadao smiled once again, this time it being the real deal. "Friends to the end." He said with a warm voice.
"Yeah."

Eh, long wait.
Not like anyone is reading this.
Chapter Three
The King, His Bath
The rest of the day for Lucifer consisted of him locked away in his office pretending to do important work but instead chose to read a book and fall asleep at his desk like he always did. The door to his office was locked and only Tadao had the key to open it but only on certain occasions, since a locked door with him inside meant do not disturb. If Tadao ever discovered him sleeping on the job, he would throw a fit and lash out his rage towards the lazy King. Everything needed to stay on schedule.
As for Tadao, he would venture off to various parts of the castle to ensure that the servants are doing their jobs properly, that there aren’t any mistakes or chaos, and to do his own chores and activities. Although he was a butler, since he was Lucifer’s closest friend he could take more time for himself if need be. Most of that time was used on shopping sprees or lazy moments in front of a TV with a tub of chocolate ice cream. He ordered the servants to do the work he supplied them with, and most of his work was associated with the King anyway, so when Lucifer locked himself away somewhere, that meant free time for him. Most of the servants didn’t like that, but sometimes Tadao would invite them to join with him if the day went smoothly enough. And all the girls loved spending those moments with him.
Hours would pass before Tadao even ventured over to Lucifer’s office to see if he unlocked the door, and if he hadn’t, that just meant more relaxation time for him. He took this free time to relax himself by taking a long hot and well deserved bath to clean him off. Sometimes he would take a bath two times a day if he wanted, it was his way of passing time and he enjoyed cleaning himself to ensure that his hair stayed silky smooth and his skin fair and clean. He took much pride into his appearance since his Mother taught him long ago how to properly cleanse the dirt out of any part of one’s body. And being a Vladimir he had to make sure his appearance brought neither shame to him nor the family name since they were all well groomed, even if he was a banished member. After his mother, Tadao was the best groomed member, since his clothing was always free of any dirt, his hair was always brushed and kept in place, his skin was fair and clean, teeth completely white, and his entire personal scent was strawberries thanks to his lotion and shampoo. Strawberries were his favorite fruit, favorite food in general, and incorporated it into many aspects of his life.
Another duty of Tadao was to groom Lucifer as well. Sometimes he would be able to wash the king completely while he was in the bath, wash his hair, his clothes, skin, everything. He had to ensure that Lucifer had a better appearance than him, but with that cold glare of his, it still left an unsettled aura around him. But sometimes Lucifer wanted to clean himself to add onto his alone time which he had plenty enough as it is. It was becoming more frequent for him to request peace in the bath, and Tadao was rather upset about that since it was one of their few intimate bonding experiences since the rest of the time they viewed each other as king and servant. The reason why Lucifer started to request this was because he couldn’t handle his desires when Tadao was washing him, even being in the same room together. His desires would eventually over power him and cause a situation that would most likely happen, where their friendship ends due to Tadao not having the same feelings for him. The best way for him to control himself was for Lucifer to keep away from his friend as much as he could, that he had to show him the cold shoulder but that would eventually lead to negative intentions that could damage their friendship as well. Either way he looked at it, both ideas were a win and lose situation.
With special privileges, Tadao was allowed to use Lucifer’s private bath hall that was reserved for only him. Tadao didn’t like using the same hall as every other servant, it was unclean and didn’t give him the proper ability to clean himself in a strict amount of time, since he took long baths and showers to clean himself head to toe perfectly. Lucifer didn’t mind when Tadao used his bath hall, it was unused most of the day anyway and he didn’t want any other creature to gaze upon his friend’s skin, he wanted that privilege to be for himself only. Many thoughts plagued his head about spying on Tadao or even joining him but that would mean crossing a boundary.
Now that has hours of free time were bestowed upon Tadao, he decided that it's time for him to have his daily relaxation time by means of a long, hot and steamy bath. He didn't ask Lucifer if he could use his private bath since he never cared. He walked down the marble hallway in just his boxers and carried a long, soft cotton towel draped over one of his arms. His bear feet echoed through the large corridor as he reached closer to the large wooden doors that lead to the bath on the other side. He pushed one of the doors open and silently closed them behind him and walked over to the massive bath rub that looked more like a heated pool.
Large fountains recycled the heated water and the sound brought peace of elegance to anyone to listen to it. The water was clear, glistening to the fire lit candle torches that were attached to the many pillars surrounding the entire room. Long stained glass windows covered the ceiling with pictures depicting the glorious triumph of Lucifer when he ended the war along with the many symbols that represent the great King. Tadao would always gaze upon the detailed work put into each section and relive the memories that changed his life forever.
With a quick check of the waters' temperature with his foot, Tadao slipped into the hot and soothing water with a sigh of relief. He titled his head back to soak his hair and when he pulled himself back up he saw in the distance a shadowed figure. At first he wondered who it was that was looking at him, but then he realized that the only other person who ever used, or was allowed to use, this bath hall was Lucifer himself.
“My-my, King!” Tadao said trying to gather his words. He was completely surprised to see the King right across from him, when in fact he should be in his office doing his work.
A chuckle could be heard as it echoed through the large room. “I had a feeling you would show up here.” Lucifer said, moving closer to him. Through the steam rising from the hot water, his shadowed silhouette started to fade into the feature of the king himself.
“If you knew, then why did you proceed to come here?” Tadao asked in a sly tone.
“It's my bath hall...” Lucifer replied bluntly. He now only stood a few feet away, water dripping from his face.
Tadao chuckled slightly, Lucifer's bluntness always gave him a small laugh since he had no other means of humor. He quickly lost his smile and stared seriously at the king. “Why are you here and not doing your work?” He asked.
“I had a lot on my mind and it was distracting me from thinking straight.” He replied with a sigh. “So I'm here, trying to clear my mind. I do this rather often.” Lucifer added before going completely under the water out of view. He left Tadao where he stood in confusion as he swam to the other side of the heated pool where the water was deeper. He felt at ease in the water, able to release his stress and feel more connected to his emotions, something he has a hard time doing. Something he thought only alcohole could bring him.
As a water demon, he had excellent skills at bending and swimming, being one of the best of his elemental kind; however, water demons are of a rare breed, believed to be extinct; Lucifer is the only known water demon left in existence. It's believed that elemental creatures are only compatible with those of their same element, however Lucifer's love for Tadao proves that entire statement false since his loyal friend is a fire demon. No one really pays attention to a demons element anymore, now they focus on their strength and nobility; the element class is slowly becoming extinct among the demon race.
Lucifer sank all the way to the deepest part of the heated pool and just gently floated in place. He could hold his breath longer than anyone he knew and would often stay under the water for ten minutes or so, in pure thought and relaxation. If breathing wasn't such an importance, he would stay under the water forever. He felt at absolute peace when the heavy weight of the water was crushing him, his body completely wrapped with the slippery liquid, and the complete silence he could hear. Whenever Tadao asked what it was like to feel complete peace, Lucifer could never give him a proper answer, all he could say was that it was something he needed to experience himself.
While he was under the water, Tadao stood in his place and soaked his hair. He didn't need to clean himself this time, since he had already washed himself a few hours prior to waking the king from his slumber. He slowly moved to the shallow end of the heated pooled and soaked his entire body by sitting down, only his head staying above the water. He leaned his head back, resting it on the edge of the marble flooring and closed his eyes trying to reach the peaceful tranquility that his fellow friend often got to experience. In his thoughts, he would often think about the happier times he and Lucifer would enjoy; trips to Earth, relaxing vacations to Hell's hotspots, pranks on each other, and so much more. But as time drifted on, those frequent experiences started to fade away as a routinely daily life kept repeating, never changing.
Lucifer had noticed this change as well, for he was the one causing it with his constant avoidance of his only friend. As he slowly started to run out of breath under the water, he gently rose up from the water still lost in his thoughts. A thought came to him about Era and his constant visits to her about his troubled feelings. She acted as his counselor occasionally, giving him advice on numerous things revolving around his unrequited love for Tadao. She would often tell him that he needed to admit his feelings so that the heavy weight on his shoulders are removed, but Lucifer always denied that suggestion for the same reasons as always.
Once he got to the surface of the water, he lifted his head out and gasped for air, wiping the water from his eyes with his glove-covered hand. He moved his eyes to search around for Tadao, but he couldn't see the entire area through the steam rising from the water. He swam closer to the shallow end until his feet could touch the marble flooring at the bottom comfortably. He pushed his way through the hot water until he saw a figure not too far from him.
“Don't you spend enough time relaxing?” Lucifer said, splashing his friend in the face.
Tadao jolted up from the surprise but quickly sank back down. “The same could be ask for you.” He responded.
Lucifer smirked. “You got me there.” He said, moving next to Tadao, sitting a few feet away. “I had a lot on my mind with what happened in the meeting so I came here to clear my mind.” He finished with a sigh.
Tadao sighed as well. “I do hope they come up with a different suspect list. I feel uneasy about the whole situation.” He said with a concern in his voice.
“Even if they do mess up everything they do, if I command it, it will be done.” Lucifer said in assurance.
Tadao looked at him with concerned eyes. “Like I said before, I don't want them to accuse the wrong people.” He said.
With another sigh, Lucifer patted his friends head. “Don't worry, they wont.” He replied. He felt rather odd for patting Tadao's head, something he does rarely. His self rule about touching his unrequited love stirred up his feelings again. When he looked over to Tadao, he saw him gently smiling towards him, which stirred even more feelings.
“I trust your words, Lucifer.” Tadao said.
Lucifer though, removing his hand and looking away. “I have a question for you.”
“And what is that?” He asked.
“Why do you always dress formal around me?”
Tadao blinked. “Is not obvious?”
Lucifer looked him with him expressionless eyes.
“Well, my job his your butler, so it's only proper for me to wear a uniform that represents my job.” Tadao replied. “I also have other duties to do to ensure that the other servants understand my position.” He added,
“Are people questioning your authority again?” Lucifer asked.
Tadao looked away and frowned. “The new servants aren't convinced that I have proper rights to my job. They view me as a leech since I'm your friend.” He replied.
“Tch.” Was all Lucifer had to say as his anger started to rise.
“It's okay, don't get angry over. They'll get over it after awhile.” Tadao said. “It always happens with the newbies.” He added with another smile.
Lucifer looked over to him. “Well, if it doesn't, I'll correct the problem for you.”
Tadao jumped. “Don't do that! You'll scare them away and we're understaffed as it is.” He pleaded.
“Then hire more workers. I don't mind spending the extra money to keep my home in decent condition. Besides, it's not like I use this money.” Lucifer replied with a sigh. He had more money than what he could do with. He would often waste it on pointless things such as cars and expensive vacations, or gifts for Tadao.
“It's a hassle to hire more workers. We have to train them and when we get more newbies, it takes more experienced workers to take time out of their already busy schedule to teach them what to do and how to do it to the highest standards.” Tadao explained scratching his head.
“Understandable.” Lucifer replied. “I trust you'll make the right decision.” He added moving his arms to the marble edge and lifting himself out of the water. Lucier always bathed with his boxers out of habit. He is always wearing something on his body regardless of what he was doing.
“Thanks.” Tadao said with another smile watching his friend remove himself from the water.
Lucifer took a few steps away from the edge and looked at the back of his friends head with a yearning look his eyes. “I have a request from you.”
Tadao turned around. “And that would be?”
“Wear your hair down from now on.” He said.
“...Okay.” Tadao replied with a nod.

Chapter Four
The King, His Dream
The evening didn't take long to make it's appearance in the world of Hell, but this was the busiest time in the castle for the servants since they had many meals to prepare and complete all the tasks before they retire for the evening. This was the easiest time for Tadao since all he had to do was make a list for the day tomorrow. Yet he wasn't allowed to sleep until all the other servants have retired, one of the downfalls to his job.
Lucifer already retired to his bedroom trying to unwind from the day and fall asleep. However, he was waiting for Tadao to come up to check in one last time before he vanished for nine hours. Lucifer slept easier at night when Tadao was the last thing he saw before bed, it made him feel at peace. He laid outstretched on his bed, his head covered by one of his pillow. All he wore was his tight black jeans, white shirt, and gloves. His tail coat, vest, and other accessories sat upon the floor waiting to be put away by gentle hands.
The room was completely silent as time slowly moved forward in a timeless world. It seemed like an eternity before the faint sounds of footsteps echoed through the tower as someone climbed the tall staircase beyond the bedroom doors. The echoes got louder and louder, keeping a steady pace at the same time. The door opened and Tadao appeared only in sleeping attire and a faint smile on his face.
“Evening, Lucifer.” He said, closing the door behind him.
Lucifer removed the pillow from his head and sat up. “Whatever” was his response.
“Before I retire for the evening, is there anything I can get you?” He asked as he walked over to him. He wore a long baggy white t-shirt and red shorts underneath it, but the shirt covered it so much that it looked like he was wearing nothing underneath.
“A way out of my job?” Lucifer replied.
Tadao smiled at his attempt at a joke. “No can do.” He said, reaching the edge of his bed. “You are stuck with your position until someone decides to take your place. That's the rule.” He added, sitting on the bed.
“Want to take over for me, then?” Lucifer asked, scratching his head.
This time Tadao laughed. This was the first time that Lucifer had asked such a thing from him. Although he took care of his friend, there was no way he could do his job for him. “I cant do that either.” He replied with a chuckle.
“Damn.” Lucifer said. He laid back down and covered his head once again. “I'm doomed to this job for an eternity.” He added.
“Oh come on, stop complaining.” Tadao said shoving his leg.
“Shut up.”
Tadao stopped his chuckling and stood up. “Well then, I guess I will retire for the evening.” He said as he started walking the door.
“Wait...”
Tadao paused and looked behind him.
“I want a day off next week. Make it happen.” Lucifer ordered.
“Understood.” Tadao responded with a faint smile. He started walking to the door again without interruptions and left the room. He locked the door for the night and the sound of his shoes tapping against the steps could be heard as they faded into the distance.
Lucifer took this time to get comfortable under his blankets and finally let his body sleep for nine hours, depending on if he could actually fall asleep. A majority of the time he tried sleeping it lead to nothing due to his mind always racing of various scenarios of his life that could have been if he and Tadao were together. Anxiety, depression, and hurt were the many emotions he could touch up on during the night that he doesn't normally reach during the day, besides anger.
Just once he wished to share the same bed as his friend to see what the night would bring to both of them. Would it bring courage? Or fear? Within the realms of dreams and reality, he couldn't even begin to imagine the possibilities. And as the hour rolled on since Tadao's departure, Lucifer slowly drifted off into a realm of sleep to experience a life as what it was reflected in his heart.
“What is this place? Where am I?”
These words echoed throughout an empty room that was too dark to see ahead. As the dream progressed, light began to shine through glass-stained windows depicting holy angels that had earn their ranks high up next to God. One window, however, was broken. The room was dressed in arrays of white, gold, and maroon colored tapestries, marble statues and flooring that seemed to wrap around a large stage that was the center of attention. As the light shone on everything, one could tell that this large area was a court room that would hold trials based around each person.
This room looked very familiar to Lucifer as what his dream was depicting. He knew that he was in a building in Heaven, as to how he wasn't burnt alive then and there was to question. Then again, it was a dream so the world of reality didn't seem to exist. The courtroom was empty, but he could hear voices echoing through the open room, bouncing off the walls until it faded into nothing.
“You are here by sentenced to death...” A voice said.
A crowd of cheering followed.
Foot steps could be heard along with the rattling of chains and the growl of a victim. As the sound of the victim moved down the hallway, faint figures could be seen in a ghostly way as they passed by. Lucifer couldn't see the true features of any of the ghosts but all he could see were blazing purple eyes.
The court room filled with joy as the victim exited the room. Chanting soon followed “Down with Satan!”
Lucifer continued to stare at the ghostly purple-eyed figure as it reached closed wooden doors at the opposite end of the judge's table. The figure tried to turn around to face the invisible judge one more time and as Lucifer tried to get a better look at the angel's features, his named was being called in a familiar voice.
As the voice called out to him, the entire room began to shrink as he was pulled into pure darkness of his dream world.
He awoke in a cold sweat to see Tadao hovering over his body with a worried expression on his face.
“You're finally awake!” He said with a relieved sigh. Lucifer didn't say anything but he tried to sit up only to fall back down from weakness. “Don't try and get up, you're extremely exhausted.” Tadao warned a little too late.
“What....What happened?” Lucifer asked in a faint whisper.
“You had a night terror I believe.” He replied as he placed a cold wet cloth on the King's forehead. “I've been trying to wake you up for almost an hour now.” He added.
Lucifer tried to remember what he was dreaming about but all he could remember was the name Satan and his purple eyes. “I don't think it was a night terror...” He whispered.
Tadao leaned closer in order to hear him. “Pardon?”
“I need to speak with Era.” He said, looking over to the clock next to his bed. It read 6:42 am. 22 minutes extra sleep he got, but it felt like he only slept for 10 minutes. What he had dreamed of seem to have worn him out for reasons he did not know, which is why he request Era's presence so she could help better understand everything.
With a simple nod of his head, Tadao reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the small remote again and clicked the button. “What were you dreaming of?” He asked, removing the wet cloth from his friend's forehead.
“I'm not really sure myself.” Lucifer replied, wiping away some of the water droplets from his forehead.
“Is that why you asked for Era?”
Lucifer nodded his head. “I'm probably just thinking too much but, you never know.” He said, unsure about himself. Once he finished his sentence, he realized that his mouth was extremely dry. Sleeping through a cold sweat had dehydrated him which is something that rarely happened. While Tadao was distracted, Lucifer sat up despite his dizziness.
“I told you to stay down!” Tadao growled.
“I need water...” He replied in a raspy voice.
Tadao reached over to the night table and reached for an already prepared glass of water, but before he could hand it to his friend, Lucifer's arm reached over and grabbed the large pitcher of cold water instead. Tadao didn't really do much to stop him but he wasn't pleased with what his friend was going to do. Lucifer placed the pitcher to his lips and began to drink the gallon of water like it was nothing. Once the last drop of water had passed through his lips, Lucifer handed Tadao the empty pitcher.
“Want more?” Tadao asked.
Lucifer shook his head before collapsing back down on the bed. Tadao once again placed the damp cloth on his forehead trying to ease the headache away. A few moments of silenced passed before a knock on the door was heard, signifying that Era had arrived. Tadao hopped up from the bed and rushed to the door and opened it only to see a very annoyed death god on the other end. The look on her face obviously meant that she was in the middle of something important and had to drop everything just because Lucifer had requested her.
“This better be important.” She snarled, walking into the room and over to Lucifer, but once she got over to him she could already tell that something was a little off about the demon king. “What happened to you?” She questioned.
Lucifer looked over to her, just as annoyed as she was. “I woke up in a cold sweat and dehydrated.” He replied. “But that's not why I asked you to come here.”
“Then what is?”
“This dream I had last night...” Lucifer began to say. “I don't think it was a normal dream. It wasn't a nightmare or a delusion either.” He added.
“Explain to me what you had dreamed.” Era said.
Lucifer sighed. “I was in some kind of court room in Heaven, I presume.” He explained. “I heard voices but I was the only one in the room. I think I might have been dreaming up Satan's trial or something along those lines, since the judges voice found Satan guilty.” He said. “And before I woke up, a ghostly like figure looked to me but all I could see were these amethyst eyes staring directly at me...” He finished.
Era thought for a moment, trying to think of something to respond with. Anything relating to psychological happenings was her strong point as she was the unofficial therapist of Lucifer in secrete. “This is something I will have to do some researching upon to conclude a proper answer.” She finally said.
“Research of what kind?” Tadao asked.
“Basic lab study. Gathering data, creating a hypothesis, testing it, and so forth.” Era replied.
“Well, how do you plan on gathering data?” Lucifer questioned.
“Well, I'll use the information you gave me, take in account the fact you became dehydrated, and try to see how much is common knowledge about Satan's trial and I'll just go from there.” Era explained. “That's all I really need from you at the moment. If something changes, I'll let you know.”
Lucifer sighed. “Go ahead.” He said, giving her approval.
Era said no more and left the room to conduct her experiments. She seemed less irritated then when she entered the room, probably due to the fact that she has a new experiment to work on which was one of her favorite things to do as did her twin brother.
Once Era had left, Tadao sighed and sat back down on the bed. “Well, your schedule as been thrown off by at least an hour, and you being rather weakened, it doesn't seem like a good idea for you to press on with your daily duties.” He said, rather annoyed. An unplanned or unscheduled day off for Lucifer never ended well in the work schedule for Tadao, for it always caused to have overtime for both him and all the other workers. Weekly planned schedules also had to be changed as well and certain things needed to be dropped. It was always a hassle that Tadao wished to avoid at all costs.
Lucifer chuckled slightly. “For once, I don't want to go back to bed...” He said.
Tadao looked at him rather shocked. But given the over night circumstances, going back to sleep to dream of that again wouldn't be too much of a good idea. “Then just...stay in bed all day and relax.” He suggested.
Lucifer rolled over, lying on his stomach. “That's fine with me.” He replied. There was a short silence before Lucifer spoke again: “Take the day off with me.” He requested.
“Why?”
Lucifer shrugged. “Why not? Keep me entertained.” He replied.
Tadao thought for a moment, overlooking the consequences of taking a day off at the spur of the moment without planning other workers schedules around it to make up for his absense.
“Just do it.” Lucifer pestered.
“Fine.” Tadao said with a sigh of defeat. Whatever consequences he would face would be faced tomorrow morning or unless something urgent came to his attention. But the idea of having a day off was rather pleasing to him. He loved to relax and just indulge into his selfish desires of sitting in bed all day eating various sweets or shopping at various stores in Hell and on Earth. But he couldn't really leave his sick friend behind while he goofed off and enjoyed himself, so instead, he kicked off his black dress shoes, took off his white swallowtail butler coat and tossed it on the ground before crawling to the opposite side of Lucifer's bed and got comfortable.
It's been awhile since Tadao had decided to lay in his bed while he was still in it. Although they used to share beds quite often on Earth, it was a once in a blue moon type deal in Hell seeing how most of the time Tadao acted professional in front of him.
“So what do you want to do today?” Lucifer asked.
“Not really sure. We could watch movies all day or TV. Something simple since you're not feeling to well.” Tadao replied.
“Just because I'm dehydrated doesn't mean I cant go about and do more entertaining things.” Lucifer hissed.
Tadao looked over to his friend with a rather sinister smile. “But if you could do that, then you could be doing your job.” He replied with a smile.
“Unfair.”
Tadao giggled. “It's your choice.” He replied with a taunting laughter.
Lucifer didn't really say much after that, he was just enjoying the fact that he had the day off and was in the same bed as his friend once again. He couldn't really go anywhere anyway just in case Era had finished her experiments and it was something urgent that he needed to know. So lying in bed all day didn't seem too much of a boring thing to do. It was better than sitting at an old desk, hunched over while reading papers. He rolled over once again and looked at Tadao. “If there's anything you want to do, go for it.” He said.
“Usually I go shopping but...I don't really have the need for anything new at the moment.” Tadao replied.
Lucifer poked his friends forehead. “Are you sick?” He asked. Tadao never passed up the idea of shopping in his free time. He would always buy things he didn't need just because he could. He loved buying large amounts of fabric, shirts, shoes, and hair accessories. He was a real female trapped in a man's body and he was perfectly okay with that.
“I'm fine. Don't you worry.” Tadao said, pushing Lucifer's hand away from him.
“I think this is the first time you've ever passed up a perfect chance to go shopping.” Lucifer said.
“I don't have to go shopping all the time.”
“But it's weird when you don't.”
Tadao laughed because it was true. “Well, I could go shopping, but I don't want to leave you here alone.”
“Then I'll go with you.”
“Or you could be doing your work.”
Lucifer groaned. Tadao wasn't going to let him have it his way no matter what so he just had to accept this, but he didn't want to. “You're beyond strict.” He mumbled.
