Basically what would you do if you were in Light's position at the start of the Death Note story and you'd found a Death Note Book and discovered the power it possesses?

Fuuu...That's a hard one. I want to say I wouldn't use it, but you can't really know what you'd do with that sort of power unless it's presented to you. I mean, look at Light. The way he was shown in the first chapter/episode before realizing what the death note could do, I bet if you told him he'd eventually go on a megalomaniacle killing spree, he'd call you an idiot.

I think eventually I'd give in to the temptation and kill someone. Maybe a proven murderer or a really evil politician. I doubt I'd try to create new world order though.

I'd probably use it, for those really nasty criminals...otherwise, I'll just keep it around for the shinigami company. :lol: I won't be trading shinigami eyes for half my life span though.

To be completely honest, I would initially think its power was just a hyped up joke, and proceed to use it as a regular journal. But after I do that, any of my friends or relatives I mentioned would die, and once that happens I would probably be overcome with grief and would try to get rid of it. I don't really like possessing such a power. :s

oooh, I never thought about that...it'd be terrible if you killed your friends and family by mistake. I'm kind of a superstitious person though, so even if I thought it was a joke I'd probably test it out first just to be 100% sure I wasn't going to knock off any important people.

If I had the death note, I would use it. I would have power, and I would do what I want. Justin Bieber would be the first to go.

so right Kraven, Justin Bieber would be first to go on my list if i had the death note followed by the people who have bullied me in the past and then anyone who says that yu-gi-oh is rubbish.

People dead....Since I know all the rules, I would have a mass death of the world worst terrorist,criminals, and worst muscians in one exact moment, having them brutally murder each other and have it blamed on religious phenomenon so I could hide my blood covered hand..haha...

But now that I think of it, if I saw Ryuuk right after finding the Death Note, I would probably be scared out of my mind. A shinigami isn't really something I would welcome to my life that easily... :sweat: But if Ryuuk would be my apple-eating best invisible-but-not-imaginary friend, that'd be cool. I really don't see myself using the Death Note for anything... :angel:

I probably wouldn't mind having a shinigami around as soon as I make sure that he/she isn't going to kill me right off the bat or something...(though if it's someone like Ryuk, he'd probably kill me soon after I get the Death Note because I'm 'boring' or something) I like cool-looking inhuman creatures. :lol:

I'd probably test it out once on someone I know is evil but is not overly prominent to make sure and once I realise for sure I'd most probably freak out. As soon as I see the Shinigami that comes looking for it I'd freak out yet again, then when I realise the Shinigami is looking for the note book I'd give it back to him or her. That type of power is too scary to have to live with the responsibility of.

I never said I would not be tempted. I would use the death note, and probably become drunk with power.

I don't like the idea of cutting someone else's life short just because we don't get along. I'd probably put that thing in a metal safe-type box, lock it, and melt the key down so it couldn't be opened. No person could handle that kind of power responsibly. Nor do I think anyone person is equipt to say who dies and who doesn't. Especially with all the prejudice, and corruption not only in the world, but also in the justice system.

I would climb up to a high tower and start ripping of the pages of Death Note. It never runs out of paper, and people on the street floor would touch the papers... and see my Shinigami! :D Then media would be panicking about a mass hallucination. The end! :)

Or wait, someone might actually use the pages... I think that in the comic Light used a paper chipper to prevent that from happening.

I don't think I would use the Death Note to kill people. ._____. There are people I would like to kill sometimes, but I'd probably feel bad if I did. -_____-
Now, if I could use the Death Note to do mean things to people without killing them, like making them really ugly or something, I would definitely do that. xD

But you know, someone might commit a suicide after becoming ugly. =3 Now your idea sounds like Light's masterplan, murdering someone without looking like a murderer! :twisted:

That's an interesting thought...but I reckon it could get so scary to use that power that someone who had a death note book in their possession might just kill themselves by writing their name in the book.

In all honesty, i would go completely power mad. If I had a power like the Death Note i'd try to rule, I'd be corrupt, I'd try to make others tremble in fear. I'd make myself a god but not in secret like him, I'd let the world know my name, I'd try to get myself to the top and most likely I would be brought down just as fast. I'd do it for the power, the rush, and for the blaze of glory I'd most likely go out in. Not to lie but I believe Power can corrupt is not used responsibly, and I sure am not responsible.

I'd be too afraid to use it... I mean no one will find out but, you know, you're killing >.>

This. Exactly this. Only, I would do it in secret. I would create a fake identity and make that one known world wide. My real identity would be kept a secret, you know, for protection and what not. ^^
