Boyfriend and I made a deal.

He'd watch Madoka Magika/Tiger and bunny, if I started to watch Berserk/ read the manga.

I found this to be a very decent trade.
As he's watching roughly 30-40 episodes of anime, and I'm watching 24 episodes of anime and reading well over 300 volumes of manga.
(That's right this thing has been going since the 90s.)

Berserk is pretty awesome, even if the story's rather depressing. I'm still waiting eagerly for the next chapter update, since the mangaka always takes so long to release one, not being a full-time mangaka and all that. :gonk: Lots of gory and sexual and torture scenes, so it might be a bit distasteful to some.

I'm about 4 episodes into the anime right now.
So far so good.
I figure I'll start reading the manga when I finish with the anime.

I haven't watched the anime before, it's just manga for me. :) Not sure what the anime is like, like if they have all the parts drawn out or not...

The anime is very gorey. I mean extremely gorey. If you think the manga is gorey, the anime is probably worse.

Really? What about the nudity, sexual, and torture scenes? :O

I dunno. I haven't really watched the rest of the series. I do know early on in the series there was a nude scene with Guts and Casca. I haven't watched the anime in a long time..since I was 14 or 15.

It really isn't gory so far and I'm on episode 10.

Me too. Seen too much gore to be fazed by much. :XD;;
Berserk and Battle Royale and amongst other gory manga had been the helpers, along with all the movies and stuff I've watched or read. :P
