Can't believe there's not a thread like this yet. D: Shame!

We all have grown up making "New Years Resolutions", and some of us have succeeded, while others have completely failed their endeavours. Since 2011 is almost over, it's time for all of us to start making that list and checking it twice, because 2012 is coming and with it, completely new resolutions! Now, it'd be a bit boring of a thread if all I was asking from you guys were your resolutions for the incoming year, so I want to ask you all what were your resolutions in the past years, which have you succeeded in, and which have you abandoned time and time again!

I have made many resolutions that I have completel abandoned, almost all related to studies, or silly little things like "No more drama"... Drama loves me, not the other way around, I swear. Well, this year I have decided to make different and more practical resolutions, so i'm sure I'll follow through with them throughout the whole year. ^^ First of which is getting a job. Ha.

Anyway, what say you, Menewshians?

I have a few resolutions.
Last year it was to lose weight, which I failed at,
I did maintain my weight all year except one month which is good.
This year it will be not just to lose weight, but I would like to lose around twenty pounds.
More specifically I want to lose 3 sizes.
I have a plan to work out and start running again in hopes that that will help.
My other resolution is to simply improve my life.
To do that I want to move out of my boyfriends house
And eventually break up with him
It is not a healthy relationship
I don't have anywhere to go though,
So I need to get a job
Save money
and leave.
Also I want to successfully go back to college in April.
I am really hoping I'm able to do that.
I'm a bit worried about the financial aid system though.
Hopefully it will work out though.
If not then more student loans.
I just really want to do well and I want my life to improve.

My plan is to try and be more positive- My husband says I'm a negative Nancy so I'm going to try and make an effort to keep my mouth shut or only say positive things when I find it necessary to comment.

I didn't really make any last year... I rarely ever follow through with them. XD This year, though, I have a few things I want to do.

One is to be more abrasive. My mom is always telling me I'm too soft, and she's right... I'm pretty much a passive-aggressive pushover even towards her. While I'm not going to suddenly start screaming my head off at people, a little sarcasm here and there when I'm displeased should do the trick.

Another is to improve my drumming. I'm already pretty good, but I want to learn some songs and improve my speed and timing before I go running off trying to join a band.

Lastly, simply to remember who I am. I feel like I've been losing touch with myself lately... there are things I do that I still enjoy doing, but don't. Part of this resolution would be reading more, improving my drawing, and improving my Japanese.

To stay up late on December 21, 2012 and laugh at everyone who thought the world as we know it was going to end.

I really only have two that are easy enough to do, and one that isn't so easy.

Easy: Get my license, and get a car

Not so easy: Find a girlfriend.

I guess I don't really have any resolutions as such, I just have things that I wish would happen in the next year. I guess that I have the power to achieve all of these things, but I know in my heart of hearts that I won't get even a quarter of them

-Get a job.
-Find a guy that I can love anywhere near as much as my ex, who I can spend time with and have a laugh with as well as trust with everything. However, I don't want a guy that can just toss me aside and pretend that the six months we spent together were meaningless. I don't want the perfect guy and I don't want someone that will shower me in gifts and tell me how amazing I am when I know that I'm a cow. I just want someone like I had.
-I want to move away from the Highlands. I want a fresh start, to get away from here and finally be the person that I want to be. I somewhat had that when I started college, but then everything got fucked up when my personal life was splashed about for everyone to see. I just want to go where no-one knows my history and no-one cares about my past. I want to start living life for me, not worrying about what other people think and not holding back from things that I want to do.
-I want to find a hobby. I need something to spend my free time on, not anything to define me, just something to occupy me and give me a more productive schedule. I really need to find myself and find what I enjoy, until I do that I can't find a hobby.
-I want to improve my body image. Not for other people, just for me. I want to be truly happy in the way I look, so I think dropping a dress size and improving my fitness will be able to do that.
-I want to stop pretending to be something that I'm not just to fit in. I don't want to pretend I'm a heavy smoker when I'm not. I don't want to pretend that I'm a prude when I'm not. I don't want to pretend to be a hipster when I'm not. I just want to be me.

I want to learn to drive, although I had that one for this year hehe. It's just hard to find anyone who will take me out to practice and teach me.
I also want to finally find a boyfriend, and work out more.
Oh and I almost forgot, of course I need to find a job and I am going to study I.T.

My resolution? I would have to say to try not to gain anymore weight back and go back to the weight I was at the beginning of this year.

These are my resolutions so far--from the top of my head. No particular order, but the most important ones I really want to focus on will be italicized.

**I will stop expecting a boy to come into my life (who isn't gay) and care for me the way I want a boy to care for me.
**I will re-read the entire Twilight saga.
**I will re-read the entire Harry Potter series.
**I will stop being so naive.
**I will take my guessing and assumptions to heart more.
**I will become a better writer.
**I will get a job.
**I will learn how to drive.
**I will master the art of faking a smile.
**I will paint my walls green.
**I will have a wide selection of stuffed sheep.
**I will be closer to my sister than ever.
**I will have new close friends.
**I will obtain Season 1 of Glee and the Warbler CD.

I once had a resolution to get more active and study harder. I never seem to achieve either though. So I gave up on that idea, and the only resolution for this year for me is no resolution. :D

The only resolution that I had for this year is that I wanted to lose weight. I managed to lose my goal of 30 pounds =3, and I went from a size 18 to a size 12 <3. My goal for this upcoming year is to try and lose at least another ten pounds and maintain my weight so it won't go up again (since that easily happens for me, and it's really hard for me to actually lose weight).

My other resolutions for 2012 are to:
Complete Job Corps by mid to late spring
Get a job at where I'm currently doing my apprenticeship at for Job Corps
Find a place to live
Keep a steady job

That's about it for me :3

Staying focus and keeping my cool through out the year should be a nice task to do.
Since I'll probably go insane around the months of March through May with AP
exams and what not.

Mine are simple but I have added a lot of sub points to them that I will keep to myself though this is the general idea:
~Acting more like an adult
~Letting go of the past and not worrying about the future
~Live with an exciting and adventurous heart
:) Happy New Year!

Me and a friend have been dieting on and off all year to try and get to our goal weight, which is the same.

By the end of the year we've lost a fair bit, but also put some of it back on, so now we're exactly the same weight xD

So we're starting our diets 1st jan and helping each other loose! And givin each other pep talks if one of us is loosing but the other isnt <3

I also have a few other simple ones.

Get a job i enjoy, move out of mums again, fall in love again, own a pet (cat or dog depends on work schedule reallly), and STOP PROCRASTINATING!

Oh and get fit...thats one i have every year and always abandon or fail xD
But if me and the friend are dieting, then fitness will be put into it, cause we'll be walking not catching busses, and going to the gym together as often as we can =]

My main resolution is to start exercising, stick with it this time til it's a habit, and improve my eating habits. I'll start eating healthier and more often. I'll start up some sewing projects and side things to earn extra cash. I'll clean my room and find my sketchbook and book of complaining. I'll even actually start using my yoga ball I bought months ago that's currently gathering dust. >_>
