Brian pushed his spiky black locks away from his face, smiling broadly at some blond, bimbo cheerleaders. He loved to see just hoe stupid those girls were. They'd die over him and fight like cats just to sit by him. It was so much fun. Brian had always had money and having money meant he'd always have friends. He had the best parties and he could get anything he wanted from his rich daddy. The only thing he didn't have was real happiness. He would pick on other kids, just because it made him feel good. He knew he was handsome, he knew he was rich. Somehow, he thought that meant he was better than others.
Brian looked over at the other kids in the cafeteria. There were the nerds, the preps, the anime freaks, the goths, the emos and then there was her. She was called freak girl. Even the other emo and goth losers wouldn't have anything to do with her. She was really a complete outcast and that meant that Brian thought she was worthless, just another nobody in the sea of subordinates at this school. Brian was part of the preppy crowd. The rich, the athletic, and the drop dead gorgeous. They were the superiors at this place. Even the teachers seemed to favor them.
Brian was eating a meal brought from home. He was much to good for nasty school food. He nibbled his sub sandwich and ate his gourmet fruit. He always had fine food to eat and this was simply the cheapest thing he'd eaten all week, though it cost more than most kids spent all month on school lunch. He was just like that. He giggled as a friend of his went over to freak girls table and sat down. "Hey, freak girl. Give me your lunch money.." He demanded of her, smirking.

It had been a pretty uneventful morning. Laney couldn't sleep last night, so she instead rode her bike around the park until it was time to go to school. When she got there, she locked it up against the rack and sighed, combing her fingers through her raggity hair. She tightened the strap of her dark brown bag closer to her and walked into the school. She didn't exactly give acknowledgement to others anymore. Not since she was in middle school. Everyone avoided the 'freak girl' as she was commonly called, and that was the way 'freak girl' liked it.
She walked into the cafeteria, feeling more hungry than bold. She waited in line like the rest of the other students, but kept a good 3 feet distance between the people in front of her and behind her. She smirked slightly when she saw a person behind her trip at her feet. The boy who had crossed her path accidentally looked as if he was about to piss himself. She looked away and continued down the line, telling the lunch woman her school number and walking away when she was told the price to pay.
Laney sat down at a table close to the door so that when the bell rang, she could be the first one out. She quietly sipped on her fat-free milk while stabbing her lunch plate with the plastic fork given to her. Amidst her last bite of soggy toast, one of the popular boys sat down at her table and looked straight into her eyes. "Hey, freak girl. Give me your lunch money.." Laney sighed and looked up at him for a good three seconds. Her stare was cold and serious. She knew for a fact that he could afford ten of her breakfasts and more with chump change. ( Though she knew he was much better than 'disgusting' school food. ) Breaking the calculating stare at him, she looked back down at her uneaten cereal and finished off her carton of milk. "How about no, pretty boy."
She stood up from the table and tossed the tray at his chest, watching the fruit loops smear all down his nice and most likely expensive shirt. The other people in the lunch room grew silent as they watched the two. Laney shrugged and tightened her bag strap again and began walking out of the lunch room. She had no time for fake people who were just trying to look cool in front of their so called 'friends'. She had an inkling that the leader of the 'populars' was just as empty inside as she was. The only difference between them was a simple price tag.

the boy that she'd thrown her tray at was really pissed. He grabbed Brian's soda right out of his hand and then grabbed laney's arm, pouring the dark liquid all over her, then opening her bag and soaking her books with it. "I'd advise you to learn your place freak!" he yelled at her. Brian simply frowned, a pout forming on his plump lips. "I was drinking that." he whined and his friend rolled his eyes. "Just get another one Brian. Its not like it cost that much." Brian still was pretty mad that his drink had been stolen. "I'll have to wait until I get home! Besides, that was just a stupid thing to do anyway! She's just a girl." his friend was laughing. "Dude, just a girl? That's freak girl. You know she's been a loser since middle school. Probably even longer than that." Brian simply let it go and got his things, ready to go to class. The other boy went and called his mother, asking her to bring him another set of clothes.
Brian sighed as he walked down the hall towards his next class after lunch. He felt bad for that girl even though he shouldn't. She should've known not to mess up that kid's clothes. They'd probably cost more than her whole closet. He walked Oder to her than most of the othe kids, not seeing a reason to avoid her. She wasn't so bad, but he didn't really plan on being her friend either. He had a reputation to keep up. He saw she was covered in the soda and he knew that couldn't be comfortable

(( Oh shoot. XD I thought that was your character. I probably wouldn't have been so harsh. I should read closer next time. My bad!~ ))
Laney grit her teeth as she felt the liquid cover the top of her head and slowly crawl down her body. After muttering a very unladylike word, 'I hate cherry soda...' was the only coherent thought she could form. She only watched as the unintelligent meat-heat soaked her books with the rest of the soda. While he and another popular spit back and forth about the soda, she was still. Her eyes didn't tear up and she didn't run away squealing. She stood perfectly still with a blank look on her face. In some way, she knew she deserved it. She should have just walked away. She'd just gotten a bit bold today for some reason. Finally breathing out through her nose as the first bell rang, she took her bag off of her shoulder and started pulling out all of her books.
The first bell rang for classes to begin and soon enough, the entire cafeteria was cleansed of the student population. The only one remaining was her. She left her bag and books to dry off on the table and walked over to a water fountain. She had no money for a water bottle. After ringing out as much soda as she could from her black dress, she doused a bit of water on it to make it less sticky. She scrubbed her skin with water as well in hopes of making the cherry smell go away. "I really fucking hate cherry soda..." She muttered as she finished. Even though her books weren't dry, she shoved them back into her bag angrily and stormed out of the cafeteria, pulling her burgundy hair back into a low ponytail in the process.
She'd skipped most of her classes. Even during lunch, she remained outside, choosing to lay in the grass and watch as people pointed at her and laughed loudly. She cursed them all. She hated them all. There wasn't a single person in the world that she did not hate. Her thoughts continued as the bell rang again, signaling it was time to go back to class. She stayed in the grass for a few extra moments, wondering if she should really go back. It wasn't embarrassment that was stopping her. She honestly didn't care what people thought of her. If they laughed, she ignored. The main reason she didn't want to go back was because she smelled bad. Elsa wanted a shower. She couldn't stop thinking of how much she hated cherry soda...
Standing up, deciding to go to class, she pulled her bag up over her shoulder and began walking. When she got into the halls, she noticed the popular group again. She didn't look back twice. She continued walking to the door, but stopped when she felt a presence behind her. Turning around, she saw it was the boy who had bad taste in soda. She crinkled her nose. "What?" She spat.

Brian glared at her rudeness. "I'm sorry, I didn't know the whole hallway was yours! Pardon me!" he gritted his teeth. "You know, I acctully felt bad that everyone picked on you, because I didn't think it was right, but now I see you're no better than the kids who make fun of you. They have every right to make your life miserable, because you're nothing but a stuck up bitch. You're just like any other bimbo! You could easily be one of those sluty cheerleaders, just without the money." he stormed off in a flurry, completly pissed. "O! And just so you know, I was just trying to give you this." he held up a book that was soaked in cherry soda. It had been laying on the cafeteria floor and he'd only wanted to hand it back and apologize for his friend drenching her. He threw the book on the floor, not feeling like giving it to her anymore.
Brian stomped the rest of the way to his class, clearly pouting and everyone knew it. He threw his book bag down beside his chair and plopped down in his desk, crossing his arms, his black hair hanging in his eyes as his rage took over. A blond girl tried to removed the hair from his face, but had her wrist tightly gripped until a dark bruise formed an pushed away. "Don't touch me." he hissed and she frowned, rubbing her wrist. "Jeez...Someone's a grumpy today." she said and he rolled his eyes.
School ended for the day and Brian slowly made his way to the parking lot, still mopeing about earlier. He threw his bags into his brand new corvette. This was the newest of the seven cars Brian owned. His daddy always bought him things he wanted and he had wanted this car, so it was his. He got in and laid his head on the steering wheel, not feeling like moving. He was really irritable.

Laney stood still as the boy ranted and threw a fit over her unkind behavior. Her face was as cold as stone as he threw a book at her feet. She watched as he stormed off and felt a strange singe in her chest. 'Heartburn?...' She thought, tilting her head. "No, that hurts." she said to herself quietly, ruling it out. "Guilt?" She whispered. 'But what made me guilty?...' Looking around and snapping out of her thoughts, she noticed that she was still standing there as the halls began to clear out. She shook her head and picked up the book as she continued off to her class.
Art wasn't as entertaining as she thought it'd be since all she could think about was that boy's rage fit to her. She hadn't done anything wrong, right? She'd just gotten soda poured all over her! 'A bad day, that's all...' She nodded to herself as the teacher went around, pretending to examine drawings. Laney knew the teacher's game: Smile at every other student and convince ever 1 in 3 children that they could be the next Picasso. She rolled her eyes as it only proved the fact that every teenager thought they were exceptional at something.
At the last bell, Laney sighed and stood up. She pulled out the book that the popular boy returned to her and looked it over. It was a simple spiral notebook of math notes and doodles. Very unimportant, to say the least, but she was glad to have it back. 'I should thank him... That would be... normal.' She thought with a cringe. Laney wasn't the kind of person who would usually go out of her way to go into contact with someone- Let alone someone of the 'elite' at school. Something about this boy, though, seemed different. He wasn't brainless, unlike his friends.
As her thoughts ranted on, she knocked into the bike rack and dropped her book. Cursing under her breath, she knelt down and picked it up. She then shoved it into her smelly bag and looked up to see a brand new shiny corvette in the parking space closest to her. 'I smell spoiled...' She thought, rolling her eyes and standing up. When she saw the boy from earlier with his head lying on his most likely leather covered steering wheel, Laney couldn't help but sigh. The sight was rather pitiful.
"Bad day?" She asked in his direction, leaning against the car.

Brian jerked his head up and looked in the direction of who was speaking. It was that girl from earlier. Part of him wanted to drive off and act like she was a nobody, the other part said to give her a second chance. He decided to try the latter. "Well, I'm not sure if I'd go with bad, but it wasn't good." he said with a shrug. You know how these days are. School's just a place full of fake people and even faker hopes and dreams. Everyone here stereotypes. It's not just the rich kids who do that. I'm rich, but I try not to be to snobby. I don't think that it's fair for me to earn that kind of reputation just because of who I hang out with."
((I'm sorry for lateness and shortness. I'm having really bad emotional problems lately.))

(( Its alright. I hope you feel better. :c ))
Sighing, Laney nodded. "I know how you feel. I may be dirt broke, but I'm not stupid. Everyone wears a mask. Ugly, boring masks at that." She closed her plump red lips and was silent for a while, not really knowing what else to say. She knew she was being truthful, but it was only because she felt that he was being truthful as well. "If it were any other air-head at this school, I probably wouldn't be saying this... But, I'm sorry about earlier. I can really tell that you're not like the other ones. I mean, you're an 'elite', but your personality isn't like theirs." Laney frowned and pushed off of the car, leaving dirty hand prints on the door. "Oh, I apologize." She said, wiping them on her dress.
She knew what he was probably thinking. 'What the hell?' or 'She's so weird.' She also knew that if he wanted to, he could go zooming off in his fancy new car and forget about "freak girl" completely. For some reason, her heart hurt when she thought of that. "Uhm... But, yeah." She tripped over her words. It was very unusual for her to try talking this long. After frowning, she murmured in his direction. "If you don't like the kind of reputation you have because you hang out with people like that, then why do you hang out with people like that in the first place?" She waited for him to respond, hoping that he wasn't ignoring her.

Brian cocked an eyebrow. "You may not mind being alone all the time, but I need someone to hang around. My dad's never around..and my mom isn't..well.." He stopped. "She's kind of not with us anymore." He said, not feeling like he could say dead without shattering. "They may be mean to everyone else, but they're nice to me. They're my friends and we do fun things together. Most of them are nice enough and easy to get along with. They're just snobby is all." He sighed. "I have to admit, it is kind of hard to see what's important sometimes. They think that who has the most money, or best stuff is what's important and really it isn't. People's attitudes is what they'll be remembered for in the future."
He became silent for a good while, having nothing else to really say. "Do you want me to give you a ride home? I have nothing else that I really need to do and I kind of owe you since it was my best friend that drenched you in soda." He laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his head. "He can be a real jerk sometimes, you just have to overlook his stupidity."
