Abby plopped down beside Andrew. He looked at his friend and noticed a strange look on Andrew's face.

"You know, if you feel more comfortable closer up, I don't mind sitting in the front. It's not big to me," Abby shrugged as if it didn't matter. It didn't really to him. He looked at Andrew out of the corner of his eye. It definitely looked like something was bothering the boy, but what? Bet it was his girlfriend, Becky. She was bad for him anyways. Abby still thought she was only dating him for his brains. It was her loss any ways.

Devina couldn't believe what she was seeing. She blinked a couple times. When she looked back at herself, her eyes were back to their normal green. She grabbed her bag that she had dropped by the sink and rushed from the bathroom towards the school exit. She didn't know where she would go, but she had to get out of there. At the door though, she was stopped by none other than the principal.

"Ah, Miss Taite. Where are you going in such a hurry?" the old man asked. Devina's eyes jerked up to his face.

"Oh, sir, I'm just...ah..." she let her eyes drop. "I'm just going to my next class."

"Very good, Miss Taite," he responded. "You should probably get there pretty soon." Devina looked at the doors around her.

"Yes, sir. It is just around the corner back that way," she said pointing back over her shoulder. The man looked at a clipboard in his hand.

"Calculus, I believe." Devina nodded her head.

"Yes, sir," she replied.

"Then get to it," he said in conclusion. Devina nodded her head and turned around. She rushed straight to the class know that the man was watching her. She opened the door and sat down so quickly she thought she may have given herself whiplash. Good gods, this day needed to end soon.

Andrew slowly shrugged his shoulders, looking in Abby's direction. "I don't mind sitting back here, really," he said convincingly. Because he was actually starting to like it better back here. He had this odd feeling prickling under his skin. Just as he was thinking that, Becky's sister walked into the room and sat down in the front. He felt himself grow a bit tenser, but he was good at hiding things and was pretty sure Abby didn't notice. He put a smile on his face and spoke again. "Have you had Mr. Uver before?"

Abby noticed the girl who most recently walked in. she looked familiar to him. he knew he had seen her before. But where? Last year in a class? Abby saw her swish her hair around as she settled in her seat. He knew that swish from somewhere.

Abby shrugged at Andrew's question. The man's name was familiar. Mr. Uver thought junior history so that means Abby had to have had him then. Abby didn't remember there being any other junior history teachers. That had to be it.

"Maybe, but I can't remember. His name sounds familiar, but that's about it. You said you thought he must have been promoted to senior history. He thought history last year?? then I must have had him then. He was the only history teacher last year right?" Abby replied thoughfully. It wouldn't be the first time he found that he had blocked a bad class from his memory. He usually did pretty good in his classes, except math and history. He was better in history than math though.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Devina sat in her Calculus class listening to the teacher drone on about how Calculus was not Algebra and how it was much harder. Devina had a prickling feeling in her skin like something was crawling on her. She lightly scratched at her arm trying to drive the odd feeling away. Something was wrong with her. She knew that much. But what? Normal people's eyes don't just turn red for no reason. Buther eyes had clearly not done green only moments before looking in the bathroom mirror. She wondered if anyone else had noticed. Suddenly she thought about how odd Johan had been acting when they had parted after history. Right before she had seen her eyes. Could he have seen her eyes? Could he be thinking she was some kind of monster? Dear gods...

andrew nodded to Abby, making sure not to ever look at Beth. He could still remember her glare burning holes in his skin. But he couldn't help buy agree with what she yelled at him. Possessed. Not realized that he'd been lost in his thoughts for a few seconds, he nodded to Abby again and responded.

"I had him for history last year and I assume you did too. He's not too bad, says some interesting things. Not the best teacher though," he mused. Or maybe he was the only one who enjoyed the class. He distinctly remember many students sleeping in their desks, but Andrew was the studious sort and never slept in class. He liked history anyway.

~~~
Johan was just drifting off into some pleasant dreams when a ruler slammed down on his desk. He shot up, eyes wide an hair wrinkled from his nap. "I didn't see it, I swear!!!" he shouted. the room fell into silence and he realized he was in class, a very angry teacher standing in front of him. Well shit, this was a new low for him. First day of school and he was already giving teachers a bad impression. that hadn't happened since middle school when he first started dressing this way, and the time he dyed blue in his hair.
"Um...I'm sorry," he muttered softly. He used his best puppy-dog face on the teacher and she eventually scowled and spun away after muttering something that sounded like 'don't do it again'.
Abby spent the rest of the class actually paying attention to the teacher. He was shocked that the man coud keep his attention. He ended up stealing a glance or two at Andrew. His friend looked upset, that was true, but he obviously wasn't talking until lunch. Abby decided the best thing to do was just let him go until they could talk at lunch. It did make him a little worried that something was so visibly on his friend's mind. Andrew wasn't the type to let things get to him, especially not at school. Must be something really bad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the sound of Jahon's voice, Devina's head popped up from where it had been resting on her hands. She resisted the urge to look in the direction his voice had come from. He was sitting somewhere behind her, but it would be obvious that she was looking for him if she turned in her seat. Instead she stared hard at the blackboard at the front of the room. Maybe if she stared at it hard enough, it would distract her. So far, no such luck.
Rather than taking notes, Andrew held his pencil above the piece of paper and made motions like he was writing, but his mind was too far off to even feint paying attention. He was aware that Abby occasionally glanced at him every now and then, but he tried to ignore it. Everyone would just have to wait until lunch. He let out a sigh.
~~~

Johan rubbed his eyes and looked around. Class had been going for almost fifteen minutes and he'd been sleeping all this time. It wasn't a long nap, but he did feel refreshed and happy. Refraining from stretching obviously, because he was sure the teacher would be annoyed if he did, he looked around the room. He didn't know very many people in the class or the teacher. He was just about to go back to sleeping when he realized he knew the hair of someone sitting a few seats in front and to the right of him. Devina? Well if that wasn't unexpected. she was in this class too?

It didn't take long for the bell to ring indicating the end of the second class. Abby sighed. Once again he had not paid attention and couldn't remember a word the teacher had said. Now it was time to go to his favorite class...art. Abby looked over at Andrew once more.

"So, guy, what is your next class? I have art which I am super excited about. Bet I won't zone out this time."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Devina could feel eyes on her. She only hoped Johan hadn't noticed her yet. After how crazy she had acted in their first class together, she feel she would be lucky if he ever spoke to her again. She looked down at her watch and started willing it to move faster. So far it was only second period and the day was already starting off with a very bad hand exploding bang.

Andrew had also zoned out for the most of the class. Sure, he was watching the teacher's mouth move and his hand faithfully took notes, but even he didn't know what he'd written. When the bell rung, he jerked out of it and over again shoved his stuff back in his bag. "I've got computer science next so I guess I'll see you at lunch?" he said. "I suppose you and Johan will have art together again? If so, then have fun," he finished with a smile. He slung his back over his shoulder and started towards the door.

~~~
Johan watched Devina on and off during the class while trying to pretend that he wasn't. He wasn't entirely sure why he was doing it and there weren't really any big thoughts in his head as he was doing it besides this being so strange. Mostly he just felt his eyes drift in that direction ever five or so minutes. Maybe he was expecting Devina to turn around and look at him. He wasn't sure, but he was glad when he heard the bell ring. He hung back, waiting for Devina to leave so he wouldn't have to confront her.
"Well, there is no guarantee that we have it together. We both signed up for it, but we didn't have time this morning to compare schedules so I really don't know," Abby said as he followed Andrew to the door. The computer and art classes were on opposite sides of the school so once out of the classroom he and Andrew would be going in different directions. "I will definitely being seeing you at lunch." Abby waved to his friend.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once the bell rang, Devina shot out of her seat and disappeared from the room before it had fully quit ringing. She just wanted to get out of the room as quickly as possible. She hurried off to her next class which was not too far away. Business technology, the class she had been most excited about at the beginning of the day. Now all she wanted was the day to end.
Andrew nodded to Abby. "Then I wish you luck with your next class. Hopefully Johan will be in it," he finished with a faint smile. Someone needed to have a good day after all, he thought bitterly to himself. He gave Abby a little wave before hurrying off to his next class. Being late on the first day certainly wouldn't help his quickly sinking mood.
~~~

Johan moved slowly through the hall towards the art room. He had looked at his schedule enough times today that he'd finally memorized it. Next was art. A surge of hope swept through him as he realized that he just might get to see Abby. Giddiness took over his languid walk as he quickened his pace. Since the art room wasn't far away, he made it there quickly. He grinned as he entered, greeting the teacher who was the same as he had last year. He sat down so he had a good view of the door and waiting, hoping that Abby would soon walk in.

((Dear me, how did I not notice this before now....))

Abby hurried down the hall with a smile plastered across his face. He could barely contain his excitement. He burst through the door to the art room and let his eyes roam the room in search for the one person who could make his day better. When his eyes landed on the smiling form of Johan, he gave a mental squeal before purposely walking calmly towards Johan. Abby sat down near Johan and leaned towards him.

"Hi there, stranger. Fancy meeting you here," Abby said with a sweet smile on his face. He leaned on his elbow with his head supported in his hand.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Devina sat quietly in her class in front her assigned computer in Business technology class. This was one of the few classes she actually liked. SHe was a wiz with computers. Maybe running a few business programs will distract her from her very bad day.

"Abby!" Johan exclaimed with a smile as the other boy came into the room and sat down next to him. "Oh yes, fancy such a meeting as this. It's like a fairy tale meeting where...." he trailed off, the simile dying in his head before he could fully give it life. "Like I don't know....I said that before I thought it out," he finished sheepishly. Great, now he was just bubbling with useless words just because Abby was here. He shook his head to clear it. "So, how has your day been so far?"
