The only cosplay I did and would feel comfortable enough to show to other people was Utena Tenjou from Revolutionary Girl Utena this summer during CosplayWalk, a local low pressure cosplay event. I think it turned out rather good, thanks to my friend who graduated from a seamstress school. I'm not sure if I'd wear it to a con, cosplayers tend to be incredibly mean to people whose costumes aren't 100% perfect >_>

Takohako you should post a picture. I've never watched Utena (though I've heard of it) but I would love to see what you put together!

I didn't have time to make the Sword of Dios though :| and there was no place in my costume to stick the rose in so I had to hold it in my hand

Aw that's a very cute costume. I don't see why you'd be hesitant to wear it to a con. It looks very nice. :)

Well, the version of her costume I picked features white frills around epaulettes rather than gold... and I'm kinda overweight which probably shows, I don't want to be laughed at and end up on these lol fat cosplayers sites

Aw, that's a shame. Sites like that are really mean. Cosplaying is all about having fun and sharing your common interests with people. It shouldn't be an opportunity to bully people. >(

Ive wanted to cosplay for the last while, but never know what to go as...and nobody to cosplay with. If I had someone I could cosplay with, I would probably end up doing it...and if I had the money to do so. xD

Yeah, I didn't realize how expensive it was going to be, even when I was going through Goodwill looking for things. All the little things certainly add up.

I tried to Cosplay for the first time ever this summer at my first Con ever (a tiny little thing in Portland, ME)... I have no artistic or creative ability whatsoever, so I just bought my costume and wig online and had everything shipped to me, including my sword :-) I would love to wear a custom costume someday, but I know it won't be made by my hands... I destroy everything I try to make pretty...lol. So anyways, I went as Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach. I LOVED being in character (Rangiku is hilarious... you just have to act drunk and flirty), and I loved when people would ask to get pictures! Unfortunately, though, my partner in crime (best friend) who was at the Con with me was really, really sick that day and stayed in our hotel room for most of it, so I only have a picture taken in our hotel room before I left with her cell phone and another taken in the parking lot by her husband as I was coming back to lay down with a migraine from the freakin' wig and she was getting ready to go out because she was feeling better. :-P



So, yeah... the pictures aren't the greatest quality :-( I will definitely be cosplaying again next year, just have to figure out who to go as. I need to find another fun, big-boobed gal to cosplay!

Kari from Digimon Adventure 02 + AniBash 2011

This was actually a request. I also needed a simple, last minute outfit. Kari was the best choice for an outfit that needed to be made in about a day. I would like to work on getting better shorts, but, for that day, they worked perfectly.

Houndoom from Pokemon + Tora-Con 2011

My best friend was going as an Arcanine and asked if I would be willing to be a Houndoom. This outfit was done in three days and it's not the best. Mom and I worked on it frantically and this was the end result. It didn't turn out THAT bad, but it could have been better. Anyway, the other two in the picture - the guy I like and my little cousin (a Poochyena).

Prussia from Axis Powers Hetalia + AniBash 2010 and Tora-Con 2010

A group of my friends were going as Hetalia characters and they wanted me to join them. I was selected to be Prussia (no ands, buts, or ors). I actually loved being this character. So many people loved me, too. I was told I was the "most awesome Prussia ever." It totally made my day. :D

The Xemnas next to me wanted a member from the organization to be on the chess board with her. So we ended up doing a chess match dressed as these two. I lost to Roy Mustang. D:

Nobody bothered to really upload them so I don't have any spectacular poses or anything fun to show you guys for this. I was really proud of the cosplay though. Really disappointed that no one from SakuraCon especially posted pictures. I did a bunch of interesting poses and like one person put up a picture. Silly fangirls hoarding pictures for themselves. XD
