The title says it all. What is something strange about yourself, that others wouldn't guess by looking at you?

For example, you wear all black and look like the stereotypical emo, but you're obsessed with My Little Pony. :lol:

My real life example that made this thread idea pop into my mind is that I am a pretty liberal gal. I like to wear rock star style clothing, and I love dirty, horrid, music and just standing out, but I'm a Christian, and I wear a cross on a long chain hidden under my shirt almost every day of my life.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I do have a slightly snobbish demeanor, so if you weren't my friend and didn't know I had a penchant for dirty music, and dubstep, you would NEVER guess that one of my favorite shows on T.V. is Spartacus. :lol:

So, Mene, what is something others wouldn't guess about you?

Well, secrets aside, I'd say the one thing that nobody would guess by looking at me is that I know how to rap, and I hate tooting my own horn, but I'm actually pretty good at it. XD I'm pretty geeky-looking. I don't look like the type at all to be into that, but I actually practice my flowing skills about 30 minutes every day, and have gotten numerous compliments from the friends who have heard me lay it down.

And now I feel like a braggart. >.>

But Christians as open and sweet as you are far too few in my area, which sort of ironically happens to be in the Bible Belt...

Definitely. I can't say that I'm a standard Christian--I have my own view on the things that the Bible presents, and actually wholeheartedly reject some of the principles in it, but I have always found peace in Christianity.

I had to look up panentheism, and from what I understood from what I read, it sounds like a good religion/spiritual view as well. I pretty much just believe at this point that you have to believe whatever feels right to you. :yes:

And yeah, the Bible Belt is something else. A friend of my mom's is a Texan, and she's always talking about the nutty religious extremists and names them as the biggest reason she left the South.

I don't think anyone would guess i actually love talking to people. I've always been very quiet, and for some reason this has always gone hand in hand with 'stupid' or 'shy'. Not the case at all.

People see me as the quiet and shy type of girl. Though I did once pretend I didn't know what 'pop the cherry' was, but I knew all those dirty shit. It's just I didn't want to associate myself with those people. I don't know, I cannot see myself talking about myself to others, it's just odd and weird for me. I personally don't like talking about myself either--especially around my bf because my past is what made me. It makes him sad, and I'm a rather happy person somehow. :P

Except, I get mistaken for being waaaay older, though, so we're opposite in that. ^.^ I'm just hoping that I "stop aging" for awhile so I don't look uber old when I'm only 30, ya know? I just have a really angular face with sharp features. My baby fat left me years ago, so I've been getting mistaken for 22ish since I was about 18.

I mean, I'm super happy and bubbly and love people and am optimistic and such, but I fall into deep bouts of random depression a lot. I've been diagnosed since my parents divorced.

Still, I laugh and smile a lot and say that there's no better reason than just to be happy to be happy!

I'm also really really shy in real life and am anti-social. If you meet me online or when I'm with friends, it's like, WOAH, what is happening here? They aren't antisocial. Come on, it's a joke, right? Wrong. I really hate talking to new people because I'm so darn afraid of rejection!

See, I'm a massively stereotypical tomboy, you know, I hate frilly crap and dealing with all that girl generalization. You see me mainly in brown and green, and I'm an outside kinda girl. BUT...

I'm also super lazy. I mean, I do a lot, I go outside and hike and run around, but if I don't have anything else to do, I'll just lay around and it's hard to get me moving -_-

1 that i can not sleep at night with out at least one of my seven pets on my bed cuddled up against me.
2 that i prefer to drink water than soda pop or juice.
3 that i hate the taste of coffee but breakfast is'nt the same without it brewing for the rest of my family.
4 that i love to read books paper backs more than i like to watch tv or movies.

I'm a small timid looking Asian girl that dresses like a bum/tomboy (my friend and strangers have told me this). I'm the cutesy hyper anime type most of my friends wanted to hug all the time and give cookies and squeeze my cheeks.

-I'm actually into classical music.
-I've almost finished a business degree.
-I'm pretty good with working with (and managing) people in a working context.
-I'm engaged, and technically married in an Islamic temporary marriage. My engagement ring doesn't look like one. xD Pic of it:

I always act so happy.

People are surprised when I tell them I love comics and animation of all kinds. I guess I don't look like I draw or paint either. People are also surprised when they hear me sing. I'm fairly quiet and tend to keep to myself so that's probably why.

I usually wear jeans and a top that's weather appropriate when I go out and wear n make up. So some people are surprised to see me wear make up and a dress or skirt.

People wouldn't guess that because I'm over weight and kind of a girly girl, I work out 6 days a week non stop and I love getting my blood pumping with running and martial arts. My girly girl self goes right out the window, and I use my heaviness to my advantage when I'm sparring someone. I'm actually really disciplined, but people wouldn't get that at all from my every day self.

I only drink chocolate milk when I'm REALLY depressed about something and ONLY when I'm depressed. People wouldn't know that right away because I HATE milk and I can't stand it whatsoever. I don't like anything about it, but chocolate milk is sooo magically delicious when I'm hugely upset about something. That started 5 years ago when something sparked it.

When i'm at school, or at work or what have you, I put in a major amount of effort. I'm working on average 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.

The thing is, as soon as I get a day or two off, I become the laziest person known to mankind. My room's a mess but my work place is organized. I'd rather spend an extra week eating whatever I can scrounge up than spend the effort of going to do groceries. I will laze around and watch TV for an entire day to avoid all work that needs to be done at home.

You'd never guess it until you've had to live with me XD

Hmmmm. This is actually a really good question.
Well my sense of style is a little between tomboy, girly, punk, and emo ish looking.
I usually wear all black or gray, normally a dress with black leggings, and doc martins, or my creepers.
Not to mention that I have short blue hair, so I get mistaken for a metal head most of the time, even though I am, just not to that extent.

I think what most people wouldn't guess about me is that when I had my long hair, I used to go clubbing a lot, I would be super girly, with tight skirts and all that crap, even though I hated it.

But something now, that I love, that still people wouldn't guess, which surprises me because I have like no friends, and I barely go out, and i dress funny. Is that I'm a sucker for Star Trek. I have the 3 novels, and the movie that came out in 2009, and I'm currently saving up for all the TV seasons that they had, as well as their other books, and posters and what not. I also plan to be Spock for Halloween this year. ^-^
Honestly, just the fact that I like to read surprises most people, because kids in my area barely even know what a book is.

Other than my best friend knowing this:

I love all types of music, I used to smoke, and I am a virgin.
I can be a girly girl sometimes...
I am very uncomfortable to the point where I starve myself for days and I only eat 200 calories. My weight really bothers me and I will get really depressed and binge eat which makes me feel even worse.


Anyways.. on a happier note,
Some people wouldn't guess that aside from my obsession with cats, I have an obsession with turtles and an anime bird named Hibird.

That I'm smarter than I look. :lol:

Also, not many people in the outside world know me, and nor do I really want them to! lol
But I'm a pretty sensitive person despite always having a stone face, no one knows what type of music I listen to - or that I'm learning 3 languages. :o No one knows I'm in a relationship, no one knows my favourite colours, what I think of myself and others... there's actually lots of things

I guess one of the things that continues to shock people is that I'm an actress. And I can actually act. XD
You see, I come across as very shy and very quiet (which I am, usually, so this is true), but when I'm on stage, you'd never guess it. So that's something people are always surprised to know/see. It's like, "Woah, she actually talks, and she's not even nervous being up there." I love acting, and I love that it surprises people. <3
