Anyone else know about this? I've spent the last month essentially obsessing over Scandinavia and the World.

Awww I love this comic. Can't speak for the accuracy of the European jokes (not European) but the drawing style is very sweet and Humon's stories behind the strips are always entertaining.

I like them for the most part, though, I think her recent ones have been kind of lame. (Like this one, for instance. I don't think I really understand what the punch line is...It was just kind of random, which doesn't always equal funny to me.)

Also, I don't like the way Sister America is portrayed. She kind of took two stereotypes of American women and put them together... The thing is, the Paris Hilton type doesn't really mix with the yaoi fangirl type. It's a little odd seeing a girl with huge sunglasses, fake boobs, and a chihuahua talking about drawing doujinshi.

Other than that, I really enjoy her comics. ^_^ They're pretty cute.

She usually explains what her comics are referencing in the comment below the image.

For example, in the one you linked, she says:
Quote:
"Denmark tying himself to Sweden and Germany is a joke on Denmark first building a bridge to Sweden, then deciding to build yet another bridge to Sweden, and now also a tunnel to Germany which he is already connected to by land. He is so freaking afraid of his neighbours leaving him. "
So the ties represent the bridges Denmark is building.

I believe also that Denmark had some problems with settlements or something leaving (I may be wrong), so that's sure to cause some anxiety.

So try looking at her descriptions and maybe that will help.

Random note:

asdklfjsdkjvclskdjf I love Humon~ *3*

xDD I love humon. She has an amazing sense of humor.

I like this one. I'm having this right now with everyone in my life. As much as I love you all, I resent you all for not being the person I want. qq
