SPOILER ALERT! FOR THOSE OF U WHO HAVE ONLY WATCHED THE ANIME AND HAVEN'T READ THE MANGA DO NOT READ THIS THREAD!

Which do u like better the anime or the manga? And why?

For me it the manga. Because the anime ended in a cliffhanger. :( The manga was so good and surprising. It more characters and drama in it. When it watch the anime I had no idea that Akito was actually a girl. I liked how the manga went into detail about the other characters lives. And I lover the ending. :)

i honestly gotta say it's half and half form me but i think i prefer the manga more just cause i had more of a emotional connection to it than i i did the anime the anime was sad and good but i honestly didn't like where it ended it felt like a cliff hanger to me and there should've been another season where the manga continues where the anime left off and it was so sweet and sad it made me cry a lot.

I think considering many anime don't complete the story in the original manga, I thought that the Fruits Basket anime was not that badly done. Sure, it missed a lot of the story and altered it slightly but as someone who watched the anime before reading the manga, I'd have to say that even though the manga is a lot better the manga does hold its own as it's own story.

The anime was strange, not really how I imagened the series to play out. It was good though, and as funny as the books, I think they both were good.

I generally get more laughs from an anime series, which was the case with Fruba. It was very nicely written, but i do wish they would have incorporated all of the characters into the anime. I felt the manga had a more sorrowful undertone, but it was a pleasure to read and spoke to my soul in certain parts, which for me is a rare thing in a manga.
If i had to choose one over the other i think i'd go for the manga, just because of the depth it has compared to the anime.

I loved the anime, but it really pissed me off how they just stopped right in the middle of the story. They could have done a whole second season. They left out a lot from the manga. I love the anime, it's lovely; but the manga is better!
