Ick, english assignments with horrible books are the worst. I usually love what teachers assign, not gonna lie, but some books just drive me up the wall. Reading them can take an eternity. :/

Lord of the Flies is horrible! I had to read that my freshman year. It's far too dark and twisted for me, and definitely hard to get through. Yuck. I'm sorry. :/ I haven't heard of that other one, though
