I still have absolutely no idea what is so alluring about Obama. The tenants of keynesianism don't really work. I think that was proven after the Great Depression.

Haha, sorry, I come from a very thoroughly Romney hating family.

You lost me on the word keynesianism, nonsense. o.o

well it's just that Romeny just isn't really that strong of a candidate, even the republicans tried replacing him a few times before the primaries

I honestly voted for Jill Stein but I know that 3rd party people never win

I honestly don't care who they are; I'm not a republican nor am I a democrat. I vote based on the views of the nominees in question. On the basis of looking at the plans and methods of the nominees I honestly don't understand the allure of Obama.

His allure for most people is that he's a normal man. He didn't win because of billionaires--he won because of the people.

Romney made a fool of himself. If the world could vote for the president he would've lost in a landslide. England hates him, and so do several other countries.

I'm really more green party then anything, which I was surprised to see a candidate for, and even though Jill didn't win hopefully it will show that there are people that care about the issues she used for her platform.

Hehe, gotta love it.

I don't smoke it either, but I know people (and am related to people) who do smoke it. But, I believe it should be legalised and of course taxed like everything else apparently.
I think Alcohol should be taxed higher than it is. I do like my vodka and other alcohol beverages I drink. But, I'm fine with the taxes that are there.
I mean come on, Alcohol does a lot worse. My dad was an extremely verbally/emotionally abusive asshole when he was drinking. But, the people whom I know who smoke pot, not bad.

Exactly, alcohol is awful. Like I've said, pot gives you the munchies, alcohol kills people.

Also, pot is really helpful to cancer patients. Takes away the nausea and such from chemo.

Yeah, it is also helpful in AIDS treatment too.
When my family's friend was dying of AIDS, they prescribed him marijuana to help him eat when he was going through treatment and meds (this was in the late 1980s)

@Birdie: I am not sure. Like Ser said, it should be quite regulated, but no one will know how it works until it goes into full effect.

@Ser: *shakes head* Anything that can help people suffering from such horrible things shouldn't be illegal.

Thats fine with me! I have no problems with rules and regulations or even paying a Tax I would be willing to pay a high tax like compared to cigs to help fund it. I just want to be able to go into the store when ever it was open and buy something I knew was safe. Waiting for four hours for dude to call back and then another to in a parking lot looking shady is not my bag.

Bound - Actually, he was; he was far stronger than the GOP's previous candidates. As a incumbent President Obama had very little competition for his re-election run. Unfortunately Romney didn't start hitting on Obama's Presidential resume from the word "go". The momentum he gained came too late.

Overall I don't like the personality of either of 'em.

El - Politicians never win simply because of people. They win because their constituents are made up of billionaires, for both parties. It's unfortunate but in politics you can't win without the influence of the wealthy and popular.

I suppose I'm a little awestruck that someone can be re-elected based on their personality and allure and not on their resume and stances. I don't think you can exactly say Obama's last four years were a beacon of genius.

It seems like politics has been infected with a case of America's Next Top Model. I guess I'd like to see a half-decent answer of why Obama should politically be elected verses Romney.

I'm a libertarian and a believer in the Austrian school of economics... so decriminalize drugs, make gay marriage legal, free markets, and small government.

Hey, I pay taxes to fund a war I didn't believe in, so heck, why not pay taxes for a substance I don't use

Well, so long as it sticks in Colorado, the rest of the U.S. will follow. Oregon should come soon. ^.^

I am going to move downstairs and take a shower, but I will be back, guys. :)

Mike was a political science major like me, but he's not totally politically active like me. He didn't care for either candidate. But, he still voted for Obama.
Me, I had my reasons for voting for Obama.

Actually I'm trying to find out if Measure 80 (our legalize it like booze measure) passed. I can't find anything though it's kinda annoying me....

@Admonished thats why I voted for Jill but like I said even though her heart and platforms were in all the right places she just never got the funding to pull it off

El - But that's no fun x3. It's not a argument if it's a debate! Plus, there's always a right answer and a wrong answer. Isn't the point looking for the right one?

---------- Post added 11-06-2012 at 11:07 PM ----------

Ser - What reasons? I'm truly curious and wouldn't mind having a friendly conversation... x3

I may not be a political science major but is law school close enough? XD

Bound - I honestly don't know much about Jill. Unfortunately third-parties have so much trouble which is unfortunate. Plus nobody wants to put them in the media spotlight. Kind of sucks.

Jill got a few mins of lime light because she came out saying she was going to legalize and tax pot and put the money towards stabilizing the economy and making collage free for everyone.
She also said obama and romney were both "part of the corporate machine" which I thought was hilarious.

I knew it was pointless to vote for her but that's still who represented my beliefs the best and I want the numbers to show that

@Birdie: You're going to have to wait another couple hours to figure that out because your polls just closed.

@nonsense: Well, I don't believe there's always a right or a wrong answer. Everything's always in the gray.

Bound - I like the first part, but I can't really agree with the other two x3. You can't a. stabilize the economy with government invention and b. I think the Department of Education has successfully proven it's worthless xD.

But... but... the corporate machine is like Rage Against the Machine but incorporated.

Meh, I voted for Garry Johnson. So my vote went into the abyss too.
