Name of creation: Sour Slime-tini Notes: Here's a brew that packs a punch! A sour, vile green drink that I concocted for you! First I dipped the rim in lime juice, then yellow sugar crystals. I added one part champagne to one part lime juice, two parts midori melon liqueur, and just a spritz of ginger ale. Then, to add a bloody pop of color, I drizzled a bit of grenadine, and it settled in the bottom. Very strong, and very tasty!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pumpkin puree
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
SPICE THIS BABY UP. I used cinnamon, ginger, clove, & nutmeg. Start at 1 teaspoon each, you can add more later if it doesn't make the taste test.
1 12oz bag of miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
Alright, man. Preheat that oven to 350 degrees (Fahrenheit. No I don't know about high altitude cooking. What do I look like, a wizard?) Line a few of your finest cookie sheets with parchment paper, or simply give a quick spritz of nonstick spray.
Beat the softened butter till smooth. Usually around 3 minutes. Next, beat in your sugars one at a time, stopping to scrape sides & ensuring they are well incorporated. The mixture will be light & fluffy. Next, beat in eggs one at a time. Following this, beat in that vanilla ("oh noes I accidentally spilled some extra in", you say? S'cool. Just don't go overboard.), and then the all important pumpkin puree.
Sift together all dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt, and spices)(some people also like to mix in chips here so they don't sink to the bottom. I have no issues with this in this particular cookie, since the batter is thick and can support the chips with ease). Mix the dry ingredients into your wet (that hot mess of pumpkin stuff, yo) in parts. At least three, if not four. Don't go dumping all this in at once, and then wonder what went wrong. The batter will be thick and a beautiful speckled orange. Taste test here to make sure 'dem spices are to your likin'! When the batter is sufficiently spiced, stir in those chips. Yep. The whole bag. Go on. Do it. You know you want to
Take the batter and drop by spoonfull (very loose term. Make them cookie sized. You like big cookies? Sure, make big cookies. Just adjust the baking time by a few minutes so everything gets cooked.) onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Allow to rest about 2 minutes after you take them out before you try to take them off the sheet! These cookies are soft, so without this they will likely break. If you want to do that with the first few and claim it was an "accident" & then eat it...that's all you.
***SUPER AWESOME BONUS SECRET***
Smoosh half a marshmallow onto the top of the cookies you know you'll eat that day. It makes an amazing little pool of crispy, chewy marshmallw-y goodness! Be warned, though. The marshmallow is not that great the day after.
This makes a good amount of cookies, no matter what size you prefer (okay don't pour it all in a pan & then message me like "ahha! It only made one!1!!1" YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN). Spread the love this fall & impress your family with your fancy baking skillz.

I made cookies today too, and had to step away from them so I didn't eat them all.... oh, it was hard. I would enter them for this, but they are neither seasonal nor halloween-y. They were just hot fresh, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside madelines. Mmmmmmmm

Yes! If you have a coffee grinder, Iku, just blanch the almonds and grind them in that very fine. Or just a food processor, and pulse em. You have to sift the almond flour into the flour anyways, so if there are crazy lumps, it won't go into the batter. :D I searched high and low for it, and finally found the almond flour for a LOT of money at one store. After I bought it, I see it everywhere now >.< So, I feel like stores are starting to carry it more often thanks to allergies to gluten and all that. If you see Bob's Red Mill flours, you might find the almond flour. Blather blather blather ;)
Angel food cake? I never tried that one...but I love trying to make stuff that is said to be hard, just to challenge myself. If it fails, it fails. So do it Ema!!
Here is my first attempt at the macaroons.....They were filled with lemon curd and lemon zest buttercream....and they were pink because, well, I could make them pink. MUAHAHAHAHA.

No coffee grinder. D: But I do have a small food processor that I could try out. I'm sure it will get around to this area eventually. Already there are a few things in the stores that I don't recall being there before.
Haha, look at those feet on them! They look great. That's another thing I like them. Super versatile in terms of colors and flavors.
Oy. I can imagine. It must be hard to ship them since they're so delicate!! There isn't a place near you that has them? Well....I don't know of one near me off hand that does, but I saw them all over the place in Portland.
We should both try making some! I found a nice troubleshooting page on them, and there are a lot of tips I didn't know about. I mean, mine came out really good for my first time, but I feel like it was luck ;) doop!
I think I might have at making some this weekend with a more adventurous flavor.

My tower of cream puffs for the event. I was going to make them pumpkins but we didn't have the food colouring for it and I was really itching to get these made so.. yayy~ they still taste great! basic flavours with a vanilla pudding filling. very good, not too sweet either! yum
i would say that i look forward to eating these tomorrow but i dont think theyll last til the afternoon with my mom in the house :0
