In the small town of Brookfield MA, there is a school like none other. It is a school for the gifted, but not everyone sees Knox preparatory as a great place to teach young children, and that is because these kids are not only gifted; they are supernatural. They are witches, vampires, shape shifters and fairies alike. There is a secret in this school as well, secrets that only Headmistress Ray knows, and that secret will bring four unlikely students closer than they would every think of being. These new friends have to find out the secret, who is behind it, or their school and town will be destroyed. For good.



There are secrets within Knox Prep, secrets that could mean the end of the academy and town for good. Are you up to save humans and supernatural alike? Are you strong enough to enroll in Knox Preparatory: Academy for the Supernatural?

Danna walked into her 1st period class history of supernaturals she told the teacher her name and took a seat in the far back, the teacher was a witch as well but you could tell she was a elder of her power by the look in her eyes & her posture as she spoke to class she also was a white witch her hair was pure white and her eyes ice blue. Danna hopped that when she became a full white witch she would keep her hair color & eye color but be a beautiful as her teacher.

Danna pulled her self away from her thoughts long enough to lesson to what Mrs.Mars was saying. "Students today we are just going to take the time to learn a little about each other & go over what we will be studying this year. As you know this is History of Supernaturals or specials as a lot of people call us know a days. We will be learning about the four main specials Vampires,Fairy's, Shifters, & Witches, at the end of the year you will be tested on what you learned about the specials then wright a paper on what you want to do with the power & knowledge you have gained this year." Mrs. Mars said with such happiness you would think she had been waiting all year just for the school year to start.

"Now this is your homeroom so you will be getting your uniforms here & your new room mates for the next four years." She said with a bright smile. " Now when I call your name you will be given a number and that number will be your room so after you are given your things & number please find your roommate and try to learn a little about him or her. because these are set for the four years you will not be able to change so you will just have to deal if that person is not your perfect match. But we have made sure that you will be as happy as possible here so we are sure you will all get along. She said then continued on to dishing out everyone's uniforms & room numbers.

Danna hopped her roommate was not one of the perky fairy's but with her luck it probably would be. she was happy she got twenty-two that was her favorite number. She eventually found the girl she was spending for years in the same room with & to her surprise the girl was a vampire. Danna could handle a vampire no problem one of her mothers closest friends was a vampire so Danna grew up around them.

She smiled brightly and walked up to the vampire girl who looked way out of place and very uncomfortable. Trying to be polite Danna raised her hand & said "Hi I am Danna i guess we will be bunking with each other for the next four years."

Kali could smell the Light magic before she could see the witch. Oh thank heavens it's a Light witch. She thought, relief flooding her. Kali hated Dark witches. Every few months, those foul casters would try and invade on Darkwood territory, leading to an all out massacre. If she had to spend four years with a Dark witch, Kali would probably commit homicide within the first hour.

She was sitting on her desk, feet in her seat, updating her blog on her regulation iPad. She smiled brightly at the girl, all blue eyes and pale hair. "Hiya Danna! I'm Kali Monroe. Nice to meet you, roomie. Shall we go unpack and get settled?" She tossed her blonde hair over her shoulders, flashing the girl another grin. As a born vampire, her fangs never fully disappear, just shrink to normal size and stay sharp. Another marker of a born vampire is permanent red eyes. Made vampires' eyes turn red when they're thirsty, as well as their fangs appearing. This ensures they only feed when hungry. Born vampires can feed when ever, but if they go longer than a few days without a good feeding, they will lose control and go dark. Going dark means they will kill any living creature and gorge themselves on blood until they return to normal. Luckily, Kali has never gone dark, but she came close once. All she remembers is the pain of the thirst, as if her throat was like sandpaper. Her joints ached and every movement was excruciating. That first sip of blood was like having cold water splashed on a sun burnt face. Ever since then, Kali made sure to feed twice a day so she would never feel hungry again.

She hopped off the desk and beckoned her new roommate before heading out of the classroom. They went down the long corridor before hanging a left and going up the stairs. At the top the took a right and Kali started looking for their room number. "Twenty two, aha!" She slipped her key into the lock and the door swung open. "Welcome home to us." She walked through the foyer and into the main room, where two queen size beds sat straight ahead, side by side. Kali dropped her luggage by the bed on the right and looked around. To her left, lay a small galley style kitchen, the wall opened up so you could look over the bedroom while you stood at the sink, the stove behind you and a microwave above that. To her right lay an en suite bathroom with double sinks, a sunk in bathtub and walk-in shower. It was quite luxurious for a dorm room. But, Knox Prep was set in a Gothic styled boarding from the late 1800's and it was known for how well its students were treated.

Kali turned around, a grin on her face. "So what do you think of our digs for the next four years, roomie?" She fell backwards onto her bed. "I love it."

"THIS IS SO SICK! Danna said as she flopped back on to the amazingly comfortable pillow top bed, taking in the fresh smell of linens. After what seemed forever sleeping in grungy motels Knox seemed like a a dream. She got up and went to the little but awesome kitchen & opened the fridge and cabinets,"OH MY GOSH PEPSI & TWIZZLERS I AM IN HEAVEN!! Danna said grabbing a big bag of Twizzlers & three cans of pop. Smiling at Kali as she walked back into the room munching on a Twizzler & chugging a pop. " I think the only think I don't like is this, She laughed and waved at the uniform & making a icky face.

"So roomy I have been with out the hotness of guys for I can't even remember so I thought it would be cool to go down to the filed and watch the boys try out for the football team." She giggled grabbed her uniform & went to change after they were both changed the hooked arms & headed down to the filed.

Danna new these four years were going to be really good on her she could feel the power starting to grow within her & she hoped the power was strong but not so strong that it would pull her to the darkness of the dark craft for ever she did not want that, but maybe being friends with Kali she would help keep Danna under control she could feel the white power pulse off her & she felt at peace

Kali may be a vampire, but she was as boy crazy as the rest of them. As they sat on the bleachers, Kali admired the muscle on the field from the safety of her umbrella. Contrary to myths, sunlight was not fatal to vampires, but it did weaken them when exposed directly for long periods of time. But vampires were able to bounce back quickly if they consume at least an ounce of fresh blood.

So, there Kali sat, giggling with Danna while she sucked on a fresh blood pouch. She hadn't been able to eat that morning since she was busy doing last minute packing and freshmen orientation. All supernatural kids must attend human high school before attending Knox. Once there, they learn about all thing supernatural as well as taking college level courses. Kali was in Knox for an English related degree, since her parents ran the local editing firm. Kali was set to be an editor when she graduated, her dream job.

Kali noticed one of the players eyeing Danna. His amber eyes boring into her blue, his black ears twitching, If Kali wasn't mistaken, that hunk was a wolf shifter and he was into her new roommate. "Um, sweety" She nudged her new friend. "You have an admirer and if you don't go talk to him, I will."

"Why me?" Danna asked blushing & looking away from the cute stranger. He was a wolf shifter the ears gave it away & it looked as if he was competing with a tall balky vampire for team captain. With out thinking Danna used her new & growing power to lift the ground & trip the vampire to give the wolf guy a better lead.

"Oops did I do that?" Danna laughed & winked at Kali. "You can't be with him cats & dogs don't get along," She laughed loudly when she saw the look of confusion she gave me "My mom used to say it to me all the time that vampires are like cats & wolfs are of course dogs & so they never get along,but you are not like normal vampires you don't let the thirst get to you or fight with it you except the fact of what you are & you are happy with it. So you are the exception but you still cant have my copper eyed wolf boy she laughed & jumped up. Look practice is over here goes nothing. " she giggled and walked down the bleaches slowly heading up to the guy.

"Hi I am Danna liked your practice did you make captain? " she asked tucking a strand of hair behind her ear & smiled shyly.

"Hi Danna, I'm Christian Knight, and to answer you question, we won't know till tomorrow." As I was wondering why she had come and talked to me I saw her friend who had to be a vampire, because she was sucking on a blood packet. She was looking at us and giggling. It made me laugh, because then I knew that she had to think I was cute or something. "So how long have you been here at Knox? And by the way your friend is looking watching us very in depth. Looking back at her friend I waved trying to be friendly.

Danna turned to Kali glaring & trying to wave her away, but Kali just smiled & giggled at Danna. "Just ignore her she is just jealous I am talking to a cute boy & she is not." Danna said it loud enough that Kali could here her & in response she got a blood pack to the back of her head.

Danna laughed & turned back to Christian "Sorry about that this is my first year at Knox & so far I am digging it, Well hopefully you will make captain you are really good. She said with a bright smile. " Hey look I am starving Miss blood sucker up there gets all she wants but I don't I have to make my food." She said laughing & rubbing her stomach "So if you want we are in room twenty-two stop by some time." Danna said winking & walking away heading back to the dorms with Kali."Well that went well I think" Danna said to Kali laughing

Kali watched the exchange, eyes glittering. Wolves were never her thing. Too much fur and all that, plus the tails tend to get in the way of... things. Fae boys were more her speed, and the occasional vampire, but Kali got bored of pale flesh quickly. She saw it enough on herself as it was. Fae boys had more life too them, which fascinated Kali.

She found the two absolutely adorable and was hoping Christian would ask Danna out. She returned his friendly wave with a more of a finger waggle of her own, mischievous grin plastered on her face. Hearing Danna's taunt, she vollied with tossing a spare blood pack at her, and was satisfied with where it landed.

Hearing the conversation wrapping up, she stood from where she had sat and sauntered over to Danna. They linked arms and started off towards the cafeteria. Kali looked back at Christian and noticed he was mooning over Danna's behind. He blushed when he realized she was watching him, so she mouthed "Woof." before rounding the corner laughing.

Thankfully, they found an unoccupied table in the cafeteria and Kali snagged it while Danna went off for some food. While she waited, she hauled out her iPad and commenced reading and mocking the latest scandalous gossip magazine, a favorite past time of hers.

When Danna left, Christian couldn't help but look at one of his favorite features, her behind. He was memorized by it. One thing he loved was there she didn't have a tail. Tails always messed up the view. He was happy that Danna's friend caught him staring, because otherwise he probably would of started to drool.

When they were out of site he ran to the locker room were he took a shower with his ax shower jell. He then proceed to get dress in a black and white striped shirt, blue rough jeans, a hoodie, and his converse. I quickly ran to the lunch room in hope to see them again. He Walked over the Italian food and proceeded to get some fresh mushroom and rabbit pizza, his favorite. Then he went and decided he was craving a pop so he got a Pepsi. You can never go wrong with Pepsi and pizza.

He looked for the two girls all over, but he couldn't find them so he decided to give up. maybe I would go to their room later he thought to him self. He found an empty table close to the exit. He went there and sat with his back to the wall. He always tried to do that if possible. that way no one could sneak up on him.

He looked down and got a big old grin on his lips and grabbed the piece of pizza and took a big bit. Right when he took the big bit he looked up and sitting in the table right in front of him was Danna's friend staring at him with a smile on her face.

After feeling very embarrassed from taking such a big bit he finished chewing his food and looked at her and said, "Sorry, I didn't see you there. Where's is you friend Danna??

Christian's eyes were round with embarrassment, but that wasn't what was making her smile. It was the sauce on his nose It made him look like one of those antique clown dolls. "You've, uh, got a little sauce on your nose." She laughed when he ducked his head and wiped it off with a napkin. "Danna's off getting some chow. Don't worry, lover boy, your mate-to-be will come back." She winked at him as she stood and made her way over to his table.

He was sitting at a four person table, so Kali sat directly across from him, which would make Danna have to sit next to him when she got back. Christian noticed her deliberate seating option and sent her a grateful smile, which she returned with a smirk. She took a moment to examine him. He was tall, broad shouldered. Definitely one of the stronger wolf shifters. But Kali was not without strength herself. At 5'6", she seemed frail, but she had a strength that would outdo a century old made vampire. Christian would be a handful, but she could handle him if need be.

Kali leaned onto her elbows, closing the space between them so she was a foot away from his face and looked him steadily in the eye. "Let us make one thing perfectly clear, shall we?" She said slowly. "Don't mistake my friendliness as weakness. Danna is my roommate and friend. If you hurt her, physically or emotionally, I will have no qualms hunting you down, stringing you up and draining you of every stinking drop that heart pumps. I look tiny, but if you cross Danna, you have just pissed off a creature that would make your Alpha look like a puppy." Kali held his gaze, letting him know she was dead serious, her red eyes glowing intimidatingly.

Kali heard footsteps and glanced over, seeing Danna approaching from across the cafeteria. Instantly, her face transformed into her usual mischievous grin. She looked back at Christian and gave him a look letting him know the discussion was closed. "Glad we got that cleared up." She said cheerily. She turned as Danna approached and winked at her. "Hey, Danna. Look what the cat drug in." Kali laughed and patted on of the open seats. "Come. Let's get to know your lover boy."

Danna sat down her tray that was covered in different food, from lasagna to chocolate pudding.She popped open one of her many cans of pop & took a drink then looked at Christian with a bright smile,"Why Hello wolf boy how are you?" Danna said then looked at his pizza with a longing look & without her knowing the pizza floated of his plate & landed gracefully on hers.She smiled at her friends looking at her in shock in awe lifted up the pizza smiled & said " its a witch thing." Then took a big bite of the pizza it was amazingly good the mix of hot cheese & fresh rabbit made her crave more. After finishing the Pizza she looked at Kali kick Danna hard in the sheen. "OWE! what hell was that for Danna asked then saw the look on her new but annoying little friend. She rolled her eyes & turned to Christian with a small but cute smile.

"So Christian classes really start tomorrow, are you happy I am I don't know much about the witch stuff & most of the stuff I was supposed to learn from my mother didn't happen, So I am taking mostly those kind of classes & a few extras. " She smiled the turned to Kali who was giving her the death glare,Danna rolled her eyes & turned back to Christian. "The Uniform thing sucks but I guess being excepted into a Ivy League Preparatory has it's down fall. Anyway I was thinking about getting together with a lot of people from around here after classes as a welcome to school thing you should totally come we could sure use a cutie like you there well I don't know captain of the Football team all the will will swoon over that." She laughed & turned back to Kali giggling and taking a drink of her pepsi.

Kali giggled and looked over at Christian and sent him a smile, letting him know her threat stood, but she was back to being friendly. "So, Christian. Tell us about yourself. Where are you from, your family and so on."

She sat back and pulled out a blood pack. A lot of the elders promoted frequent eating, as born vampire metabolisms were faster and their appetites larger. Unfortunately, Kali learned the hard way. But she noticed her power and stamina steadily increasing ever since she began feeding regularly. Arkin, the coven doctor, was pleased with her progression. Since Kali would eventually be an elder, she was expected to be an example for the younger vampires. After she made the switch, the majority of them did as well. Since this made humans safer, Kali was proud that she had been a good example. She had saved a lot of young ones the pain of thirst and the sting or regret and a lot of humans their lives.

She sat there, sipping on her light meal and listening to Christian talk about his dark past. He and Danna had a lot in common, in that respect. Kali decided that they would be good for each other, and she was glad she got her point across when she did. The last thing Danna needed was a guy to break her heart after she had lost her family. She broke herself out of her reverie and began paying attention to what Christian was saying.

"I can't believe I'm late, but what is done is done. Good thing class don't really officially start until tomorrow." The fairy looked up at the building before going inside and going to her Homeroom where Mrs. Mars was. And it looked like she was getting ready to leave so it was a good thing La'belle arrived when she did or she would have missed her teacher.

"Ah, I presume you must be La'belle? Just about now the other students should be in the cafeteria. This will be your homeroom, and here is your uniform." The teacher walked over to the fairy and handed her the uniform before continuing. "And your room is 19 and will be rooming with a... student named Christian. He's a wolf shifter and he should be down at the cafeteria, why don't you go introduce yourself? Get comfortable, because you'll be with him for four years."

La'belle nodded and took the uniform and headed off to her dorm. When she got their she changed into the uniforms and waved her delicate hand through the hair. A faint pink light can be seen traveling behind her hand. Once her hand stilled, she was surrounded briefly by the light which was followed by her growing a few feet to about 5'2". There was no need for her to be of typical fairy size and she figured it be best if she was around the same height as the other students. La'belle walked around until she found the cafeteria and looked through the selection of food and finally settled on a small bowl of fruit and a slice of pizza. She took the closet available seat that seemed to be adjacent to a table of three lively students. Not meaning to eavesdrop she heard one of the girls say "Christian". Looking over to the group she noted the boy had met the teachers vague description.

Still not knowing how to take Danna's friend, he decided to tell them the truth. "Well To be honest, I don't know a lot about my past. My mother and I have been moving around a lot. My Father isn't around. I don't even remember him. It is like there is a void in my memory. I actually don't remember anything from 16 and under. I play football so I can feel at ease. It is the only place that I feel best. I didn't know what else to say. If only I could remember more. I was kinda feeling ashamed that I couldn't remember anything other then my mother and I moving around a a lot.

Danna saw the fairy approaching smiling she waved her over the more the merrier she always thought. As the fairy took a seat at Christians table Danna & Kali moved over there too. "Hi I am Danna this is Christian & Kali you must be the fairy who is bunking with Christian while we are here that that is cool." Danna smiled taking a drink of her pop. "We were just talking about every detail of Christians life & a get together Kali & I are having after classes tomorrow you should come it will be a blast." Danna looked at her with a smile then shook her head.

"Oh my I am so sorry I am getting carried away whats your name & why are you here at Knox?" Danna asked thinking she really needed to stop being a blabber mouth so she started to eating her food again. Warming it without even thinking about it. The new powers she was starting to come into was a rush but she was starting to get scared she did not want to be on the on the dark side she new they did not have cookies. At the thought she laughed then she looked up & listening to her new friends with a frond smile.

"Oh, hello Danna, Christian and Kali. I'm La'Belle... and I'm here at Knox because I want to learn more about the many races there are out there. Just incase I have to deal with them in diplomatic talks. Or just for the sake of knowing." La'Belle took a moment to survey their slightly confused faces and came to a realization. "Oh.. sorry. Im Fairy princess, and please don't treat me any differently, here we're all equals." La'Belle took a few bites of her pizza before drinking alittle bit of the water she had grabbed.

After lunch Kali & Danna decided they needed to do more unpacking in their room so they said quick goodbyes and headed up stairs. A hour latter Danna had all her things unpacked and put in the right place. She laughed when she saw Kali still unpacking dancing to her Ipod.

Danna walked over to the Windows on the far wall that lead to a beautiful forest just off the property. She unlatched the windows and opened them wide the clean,fresh smell of Autumn not to far behind. She Leaned on the window sill & watched the other students pass and the light wind shake the trees something as a hello to Danna.

Ten minuets latter Kali came to and leaned against the wall with a sigh."I hate unpacking it takes forever. What ya looking at." She smiled & looked out the window."Just the trees & students can you smell fall I love the smell of the season change." Danna smiled taking a sip of the pop she grabbed earlier.

All a sudden a sound came from the woods a mix between a gut winching scream & a soulless howl, with out a word Danna jumped from the window and ran towards the woods. She looked back & Kali was close behind vampire she thought & kept running. By a old dead willow lay a crumpled body of a boy no young man his back turned from her but there were scorch marks on him like something was burned out of him & it killed him. She slowly walked over to the burned body & rolled him over. A scream escaped her lips and she jumped back tears falling from her eyes.

" What, what who is it Danna who?" Kali asked in a scared & shocked voice. Danna whipped the tears from her eyes & sniffled. "It's....It's Christian he he he's dead...but but but worse his his wolf shifting ability was taken from him that's why his eyes look hollow & black that's what happens when your ability is taken from you I've seen it." She said beginning to cry again.What thing or person would kill a immortal for their ability it's so very odd. she thought as she cried for the young man she was just starting a relationship with.

Kali stood there, muted. The shock of his scorched body in front of them was overwhelming. Danna's words left her reeling. A student had just been slaughtered for his power. Once her panic subsided, she realized she could smell the burned flesh on his body. Kali backed up, a hand over her nose, but it didn't go away. The sharp, sickly sweet scent of the char was cloying, choking her. She fell to her hands and knees, gagging. Tears streamed down her face, partly from the sight of his body and partly from the wracking dry heaves her body was undergoing. She gagged again, and this time, foul smelling, partly-digested blood came up. She regretted drinking so much, but there was nothing to be done. Kali rode out her body vomiting every last stinking drop. She spat out the last, sticky remnants in her mouth before wiping her lips with a shaky hand.

Slowly, she stood up, one hand over her stomach and the other reaching out for her friend. Danna was half crouched over Christian's body, sobs wracking her body. She threw her head back, a gut wrenching scream piercing the afternoon air. Kali stepped back, stunned, and then tried pulling her friend away again. "Danna. Danna, please! We have to find help. We have to find the Headmistress. She can help us." Kali pulled again, but Danna flung her arm out, breaking Kali's grasp and knocking her down. Tears blurred Kali's vision again and she crawled to her friend. "Danna, we have to go. We'll come back for... for Christian's body. I promise."

Kali finally got her friend standing, though now, Danna was silent. Her normally bright blue eyes were now dull and glassy. Kali wrapped her arms around Danna's shoulders and steered her back towards the Academy. Just as the reached the edge of the clearing, a form burst from the trees, causing Kali to scream. Eerily, Danna didn't even move or blink. Numbly, Kali registered the signs of shock showing on her friend's face. She had to get her to the infirmary. She looked over her shoulder, and realized the form that had scared her was Jahero, one of the Academy's security guards. The small woman easily hefted Christian's body into her arms and set off at a brisk pace towards Knox, leaving the girls alone in the trees. Kali hurried her friend towards the building, eager to leave the spooky forest and to get her friend help.

Halfway to the building, a thought bloomed in her head, making her gasp and stop. If students were being killed for their powers, then Christian wouldn't be the only victim. Whoever it was murdering young supernaturals, was killing ones whose powers benefited them in some way. Kali didn't like it one bit, and hurried her and Danna into the building and towards the infirmary. For the first time in her life, Kali didn't feel safe. She shuddered and hurried on.

Danna sat on the cold bench like bed in the infirmary letting Nurse Spruce make sure she was alright but she was not alright the tears still streamed down her hot face & the image of Christian's body tearing at her mind. She looked up & saw Kali across the room drinking she could vaguely remember Kali throwing up the contents of her stomach in the woods after they found his body. Woods those woods she thought the hot anger building inside her, She had never hated the woods in her life but these were the woods where a friend lost his life & she would not stand by as more lost there lives in there.

Her eyes darken to the color of water in the dead of night her hand burned with the power of her ancestors, she threw back her head with a shrilling scream as the pain & agony going into the this first spell she would cast. "BURN BURN TO THE GROUND. " She screamed.

Falling sideways on the bed she smiled as she saw the forest burn in her head, she heard the trees scream in pain but she ignored them they got what they deserved.FIRE was the last she heard someone scream before she blacked out.

Late. His very first day and he was late, of all things. But, well, he couldn't be blamed too much, as he never had any need to keep to any sort of schedule. It was unusual for him to need to be somewhere at a precise time. Really, it was unusual for him to need to be somewhere in the first place. He never had any sort of direction in his life, always wandering aimlessly or hiding to heal his wounds and rest his mind. It was... different. But not unwelcome. If only he could figure out how it was others were able to be on time...

To hurry his pace, he tried to cut through the forest toward the school instead of going around it. He felt safer with the trees surrounding him, blocking some of the sun and giving him cover - it felt more like where he was from. It was a mistake.

It was instantaneous. Everything was peaceful one moment, and the next he was surrounded by scorching heat, blinding lights in various golden and crimson hues, and all he knew was pain and fear. He screamed, dropping low to the ground and frantically trying to find a way out, any way out, but he couldn't focus. It was too hot and too bright for him, who had lived most of his life in the dark and cold. So, he ran the only way he knew to be an escape - toward the school.

It hurt. He kept low and tucked himself in as much as he could, moving as fast as he could, but still the flames licked and hissed at his skin as he ran, and everything seemed to be screaming, everything around him was dying and he could only run, run faster.

By the time he burst out of the blazing forest he was covered in soot, burns peppered across his arms, legs and back, his hair and wings torn from his frantic dash through the trees and scorched here and there. He kept running, terrified that the unknown creature (as he never knew fire, couldn't know it wasn't living) would give chase. He could only stop when he reached one of the school's outer walls, collapsing against it and curling himself up, panting and hurting and scared. He didn't know what to do, didn't know what happened or how, didn't know where to go. And the screaming, he could still hear it, everything was screaming!

In a matter of seconds, the sound of a blaring alarm had gone off on a night stand within a large white and blue room. The unbearable noise coming from the clock had continued to ring uncontrollably as a white haired male laid on the bed sleeping peacefully. Almost as though the noise hadn't even bothered him, this young male was Yukito. A natural born phoenix that had lost his parents at a young age, ever since the day he had lost his family he had been living in this home alone. Shockingly able to fend off any hunters that wished to kill him for his power as well as being able to get his own food since he was a mere child. Even at his current age, the male still seemed to have the personality of a young teenager as he seemed to refuse to get up from his bed for his first day at the Academy he was invited to.

It had just been a single day since he had received a letter in the mail about this academy. It was built for supernaturals such like himself to control there power. The sound of it was almost too good to be true, but with how excited he had been Yukito ignored the thought as he immediately went that same day to go sign up for being a student there. Being told that the next day would be his first day, he couldn't help but set his alarm for an early time to get up. Telling himself before he had went to sleep that he would make sure that he would get up for his first day.

As the alarm continued to ring, a medium sized red bird perched on top of one of Yukito's drawer had awaken from it's slumber as it was truly getting annoyed with the sound of the clock. Quickly gliding right off the wooden drawer, the bird had come swooping down onto Yukito's forehead before pecking at his face lightly for him to wake up. Within a matter of seconds, he had scrambled to get out of bed only to quickly collapse off the side of the bed with his entire body tangled up in his covers. Slowly a single hand had reached out from under the covers as he slammed his palm onto the clock to turn off the annoying sound of the clock. Standing up with his hair a complete and utter mess, Yukito turned his head to look at the time. Eyes widen in shock, he had immediately ran straight into the bathroom to wash up and brush. He was late for his own first day at the academy! This was the worst thing that could happen, who knew if he would still be allowed to attend the classes? Let alone if he was still even allowed to attend the academy at all anymore.

By the time he had finished getting dressed, Yukito bolted straight out of his house and ran down the streets to make his way to the academy. Stopping halfway to the school, he had turned his attention over to the direction of where a nearby forest resided. It smelled as though smoke had been coming in that direction, was it a forest fire going on? Whatever it was, Yukito couldn't seem to resist the urge to go over and check on what was going on. Running as quickly as he could, when he had reached the forest all he could see were uncontrolled blazes of flames burning down all the trees that once covered the forest. Staring in shock, Yukito had dropped his bag as he began to walk into the burning forest. With the flames being to torch his clothing in multiple different spots but his skin remain smooth as though he was immune to it, he turned to look at his surroundings. Screams of the innocent covered the plains of this forest, whoever had created this fire was indeed making sure to bring harm to others.

Whatever the case was, the white haired male soon left the burning forest with multiple burnt spots on his clothing. Exhaling a deep sigh, Yukito picked up his bag which was completely fine as he began to make his way back toward the academy. Taking a second and final look at the forest as it burned with the screams of the innocent, he couldn't help but curse to himself mentally that he couldn't help them. Using his ability and forming himself into his true form would only attract the attention of many other hunters that would know of his location. That was the last thing Yukito needed, even if it meant to save the lives of others. Besides, he was going to attend this academy to see if he could learn to control his power of being a phoenix to see if he could help people. So maybe one day, he would be able to protect others like them and make sure to see if he could ever make this be avoided.

Soon once Yukito had made it to his destination, the sound of another male in pain had caught his attention. This one though wasn't exactly hard to miss. He was right outside against the school's outside wall, he looked as though he had looked as though he had been through a large fire since he had burns all over his body. Each burnt mark looked rather bad, not to the point that it was life threatening but no doubt he was in pain. Quickly running up to the male that was curled up on the floor, Yukito made sure not to touch him in case that would bring only more pain. Dropping his own bag next to himself he leaned over to see if he could get a look at the male's face, just to make sure he was alright there as well. "Are you alright? What happened?" Asking multiple questions, Yukito's expression across his face showed much concern as he thought of trying to help the male up to his feet but feared it would only harm him more.

By the time he had seen the wings upon his back, it wasn't exactly difficult to obviously realize that this male was also a supernatural. Most likely he was probably also headed toward the academy was well. Why else would he be right outside of the place and looked as though he were originally dressed for going there. Considering the burns on his body, Yukito could only guess that he was probably going through that forest he had just been through as well.

Raen's body jerked at the sound of another voice, his gaze shooting up to Yukito immediately. He looked almost as if he didn't believe the other man was there, or why - he was unaccustomed with even the simple act of another person taking the time to help him. He curled in on himself even further, even, as he could feel the warmth of the male in front of him from where he was, irrationally terrified for just a moment that he may be the beast from the trees coming to get him.

He quickly caught sight of the forest itself when he turned to look, though. His eyes flew open wide as he took in the site of the enormous blaze, trembling even more. It was enourmous! That was the thing that attacked him?! How is he still alive?! He looked frantically to Yukito again, as if the other man would have an answer, only to be further confused as to why he looked so calm. That bright, giant creature (the fire) was right there, did he not see it?! Or could the creature not leave the forest?

The screams, though. The screams continued. Soon enough he had to hold his hands over his ears. The trees were screaming, the plants were screaming, everything was screaming and dying and he didn't know what to do! Were these beasts common in this world?!

"I.. I'm sorry, I..." He could hardly focus enough to speak, just shaking his head and closing his eyes - he didn't want to watch the forest die any longer. "I.. I can't. I just... I can't..!" Too terrified and hurt to make any sort of sense, he just continued to tremble where he was, trying to block out the sounds of the forest's screams.

For only a single moment with having Raen's gaze meet his own. Yukito had expected the dark-haired male to answer his question on if he was alright. Rather then replying to his question with even barely so much as a nod or shake of his head, when he had ended up only to curl up even more brought a bit of concern even more so through Yukito's mind. What was bothering him? Did something happen to him besides the flame burning him, did he meet something or someone in the burning forest that caused him to be so afraid. Whatever the reason to why Raen had acted this way, there was no doubt that leaving him like this outside of the academy was not going to help him anytime soon. He had to get him inside and to the nurse's office to see if someone could help him calm down.

However, watching as how Raen turned to look back into Yukito's eyes once more a second time. Only to have his eyes widen up in fear and shock, brought a bit of confusion sending throughout Yukito's body. There was no doubt about it, he had seen something and heard something in those flames that he probably shouldn't have heard let alone seen. "Calm down. Relax, everything is going to be okay. You don't have to apologize for anything, just breathe and do your best to stand up." Doing whatever he could to try and get Raen to calm down from his shocked and scared state, Yukito wasn't even too sure if he could even hear him considering he had his hands over his ears.

Raen certainly heard the words, though they seemed like they were so far away - both muffled by his hands over his ears and by the forest's screams. He clenched his eyes shut as they started to burn with unshed tears, already beginning to mourn for the trees. Forests always gave him the feeling of safety, as if they were guardians - living such long, strong lives to provide cover and homes and food for those who lived amongst them. They didn't deserve this. This was wrong, so, so wrong. But there was nothing he could do. Only survive, like he's always done. Survive and keep moving.

Eventually, he was able to give Yukito a simple, slow nod of his head to show he was listening, that he was still there. He was scared and hurt, sure, but both feelings were largely disappearing - numbed over by a growing sadness. He obviously wasn't going to be in any shape to speak for a while, but he could force himself to move despite his bad shape. He was used to it, growing up in the dark places he had. He was still trembling as he slowly forced himself to uncurl, and his legs shook as he pushed himself to his feet, leaning heavily on the wall as he did. But still, soon enough he was standing. He refused to take his hands from his ears, but he did open his eyes - even though he wouldn't look at Yukito or the forest, keeping them locked on the ground in front of them. They seemed a bit hazy and unfocused, but he'd make them work for him, as long as he had to.

After he stood, though, he was lost. This new land confused and disorientated him, and suddenly he felt like he had no direction again. But that was alright - he stood, like he was told. He waited to see if more words would come from the stranger, or if he'd be left to himself again. He didn't let himself hope. He was used to being alone, he could at least survive. Survive and keep moving.
