He flinched as Vex threw herself upon his wrist. Regan relaxed after a little while, simple watching his friend with a half-indulgent, worried look. The blonde woman always managed to make him worry... Then again if she didn't, he would have nothing to distract him from that emptiness he always seemed to feel.

The redhead sighed when Vex asked her question. He didn't want to answer, but he knew if he didn't that Vex would just keep bothering him about it. "I'm fine... I just need to get some food of my own now." For a few seconds Regan contemplated leaving things like that, but he relented soon enough. "I can't find what's missing. I wish I could remember, but at the same time I'm afraid." Shaking his head, the vampire stood and moved to the doorway. No matter what Vex had to say, his own hunger was pushing him inside. He listened though, and waved before going to search for a willing donor, or at least someone who could be convinced.

His blue eyes traveled over the crowd and halted on a young seeming man sitting alone at a table. The redhead sauntered over, and sat down casually. He leaned an elbow against the table, and sent a cocky grin the other man's way. Those brown eyes of his, they tickled Regan's memory for some reason. "So, tell me ... You come here often?"

When the red headed man sat down at the table, all Rowan was able to do was raise an eyebrow. Could the man not see that Rowan was pissed, and just needed time alone. Well, seeing that they were in a bar, Rowan realized that wanting to be alone was a pretty idiotic request, but still! As Rowan watched as the red head smirked a cocky grin, he found himself just getting angrier. He wasn't angry at Cillian though, well he partially was, but he was mainly angry at himself. He should have known that Cill-

Gah! If I keep thinking about it, I swear I'll blow my top! he thought angrily, grinding his teeth.

But, in all honesty, the man sitting with him now was really not helping Rowan calm down. As the man asked him a question, Rowan could feel the anger and frustration building up inside him, but instead of lashing out, he simply kept it in. He figured that there was no point in getting angry, just in case Cill saw, and then got angry at Rowan for being too angry. Yea, they were a pretty messed up pair of twins.

"No," Rowan answered through clenched teeth, looking at the table, trying his best to control his anger, "In fact, this is my first time here."

The last thing Rowan wanted to do was anger Cillian, and he could tell the Cill was almost at the point. It took a lot to anger his little brother, but when you did (or rather, when Rowan did, because so far, the only person who had ever angered the angel-demon was Rowan), the normally shy, cute, and innocent looking boy became a demon. Cillian was worse with anger than Rowan was, well, when it came to lashing out he was.

Enough! Rowan thought, clenching his fist, I should be mad at him! SO NO MORE THINKING ABOUT MAKING HIM MAD OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! JUST BE MAD AT HIM AT FORGET FOR NOW DAMNIT!

"Now," Rowan spoke to the red head this time, finally being able to calm down, because somehow yelling at himself in his head made the dark eyed boy calm, "Why are you talking to me? "

Eran glanced at the male near him, the other had looked as if he were ready to say something to him. Then that man was leaving, but he had left his things there, so the old vampire assumed the man would come back eventually. He swirled the wine looking substance in his glass as he surveyed the room, eyes roaming over everyone. He watched the male that had left the spot for a moment, then he watched a random group of people at some other card game table for a few moments. Just as he brought that glass up to his lips, he caught sight of the red headed vampire entering, he followed the other's every movement with his eyes, wondering briefly how it's bonded human was. Those eyes lingered on the man the vampire seemed to have chosen as his next meal, a slight frown touched Eran's lips. He could almost smell the trouble that might brew, then the man that had been near him at the bar returned and spoke to him. Eran glanced at him from the corner of his dark eyes. "Stranger than some, less strange than others." He was careful when he spoke to humans, careful that his fangs didn't show.

Avalyn Drake
Ageless, though appears to be in her early twenties
Appearance: Avalyn has a five foot seven build, the graceful body of a dancer, golden skin, dark brown hair that falls in long, loose waves with the underneath dyed blonde and streaked with different colors, and ghostly pale blue eyes.
Race: Half human/half demon
Background: Avalyn was the result of the demon Lilith, the first demon created by Lucifer, seducing a human man, of which Avalyn has no clue to the identity of. Her hatred for her mother fueled her "life career" as a hunter, though she has no allegiance to Heaven or Hell.

-x-

As the door to the main entrance of the bottom level of the casino opened, the lights dimmed and flickered, giving the impression that they would soon give a last flash of light before dying out. The arcade style gambling games that promised a winner with every play rattled for a moment, but not enough to distract their users from their pursuits of getting rich quick. When the door returned to its proper place, no longer shaking in its hinges, the lights returned to their normal fluorescent brilliance and the games continued as regular. The only difference was that a waitress near the door had jumped, sending one of the champagne glasses from her thin black tray tumbling to the floor. The glass shattered and a manager barked somewhere in the back, obviously hearing the sound.

Avalyn kicked away the shards of glass resting against the tips of her black combat boots and offered the young waitress an apologetic smile. Those nearest to her that had witnessed her entrance watched her for an additional moment, eyes trailing down to her left hand. Avalyn's cloudy blue eyes followed along, noticing her black pistol was still in hand. She returned the firearm, packed with bullets made of salt, to the back of her jeans, tucking it between the waistband and the small of her back. Her throat rumbled as she cleared it, making the glances diffuse and the attention on her virtually vanish. She stood by the door for a moment, observing as always. She caught glimpses of sharpened teeth and eyes that would occasionally flicker to reveal orbs of pure black, as well as figures resonating faint glows undetectable to the human eye. Deciding that this was as good as it was going to get, she began to step towards the bar.

Once seated in one of the farthest and most secluded stools at the counter, Avalyn continued to watch the other customers. She wasn't on the job, she just needed a drink, but it would be stupid for her to not take her surroundings into account. It was evident this was no usual casino, she figured even some of the humans could tell that, which made her extremely uncomfortable. Just can't catch a break, she thought dryly to herself as she observed a redheaded man make small talk with another male with brown, anger filled eyes. Her mind instantly began to question, wondering who they were, what they were, what their relation was. Thankfully the bartender set down a shot glass in front of her and drew her attention back to what was directly in front of her.

"You don't seem like a margarita kinda girl," the gruff man stated as he pulled out two bottles of vodka and held them in front of her to choose from. A smirk twisted up the left side of her mouth and she nodded towards the bottle of Grey Goose. Due to the human blood in her, alcohol still gave her a buzz and also calm her down, but she could never truly be intoxicated.

"I'm not," Avalyn responded simply and before the six foot something bartender could give her a chaser, she grabbed the tiny glass, threw her head back, and downed the liquor. The man facing her watched quietly as she set the glass back down. Ava gave him the basic look over, taking in his broad shoulders and tanned skin. He looked a few years older than what she appeared to be and Ava figured if she didn't take interest in anyone else in the room, she could always call the bartender up to her room later that night.

"Rough night," he inquired and glanced down at the female's sleeve. Avalyn looked too before meeting his raised eyebrow. She pulled off the leather jacket, having taken notice of the deep red blood stain seeping into the leather, revealing her denim vest like shirt, tied off right above her belly button. The thin material didn't offer much warmth, but the building was full of enough human bodies to radiate enough heat for a small village.

"You could say that. Whiskey on ice," she nodded towards the bottle of Jamesom on the counter behind the man and in an instant a square glass full of ice was set in front of her along with the whole bottle. The shot glass took its place in the man's blow dryer sized hands and was being cleaned with a rag that had rested previously over his shoulder.

"Yell if you need anything," he winked at her and Ava watched the nameless man walk down to the other end of the counter. Her eyes rested on his ass for a minute before her head drooped and her hands went to cradle her head, fingertips pushing into the hair at the top of her scalp. Her beach like waves fell around her face in a sort of shield, primarily dark brown, which contrasted well with her demon blue eyes, the dyed blond, pink, purple, and blue pieces peaking out here and there. Her eyes fluttered closed, before popping back open as she sat up so she could watch as she poured her first of many glasses of one of her favorite kinds of medicine.

Regan smiled a little at the other's reaction. He did sense that there was something not quite ordinary about the man, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Not only that, the barely suppressed anger he could see reminded him of someone ... Someone he couldn't remember, and didn't want to remember.

Shaken, the redhead leaned back against his chair to peer at the man. "Well there's nothing wrong with talking, is there?" He supposed he should tell the man why he was really there, but it just seemed too soon for that.

"You were alone, so I thought you might want some company." He paused for a moment before going on. "My friend works here, and I came to visit, but work does call. So I figured, why not chat with someone? So, what brings you here?" He didn't seem like the gambling type. Then again, it really was hard to judge people by their appearances. Now if only he could figure out why he wanted to instinctively soothe that anger away, like he was used to trying with someone else... He didn't want to remember!

It wasn't until the red headed man continued speaking that Rowan noticed he wasn't human. Of course, he wasn't sure what the man was, he just knew that he wasn't human. Then again, there weren't many humans in the building, so Rowan supposed he shouldn't have been surprised.

"Whatever," Rowan sighed. He felt like the man had some other purpose for talking to him--well, who wouldn't? Why in the world would someone, who was in a casino, go sit down and talk to someone just because that person was alone? It wasn't reasonable. Even with his reasons, it just didn't seem possible.

"Someone forced me," he answered apathetically.

In truth, Rowan didn't want to talk to anyone. He just wanted to be a lone. Actually, he didn't even want that. He wanted to go somewhere where he could just start wrecking things, or even kill something.

Wow, he thought with a sigh, Aren't I a wonderful angel of the Lord?

Regan chuckled, and found himself blurting out a not too well thought out plan. "You sound like you're looking for a fight. Want to go outside and have a friendly bout?" Friendly was probably going to end up being rough. That was fine with Regan, it had been a while since he'd had a good opponent. Not since he'd lost his memory, or so he thought. It was hard to say when there weren't very many battles to compare his recent ones with.

Surely this strange man would take him up on the offer? It was obvious how uncomfortable he felt in the crowded casino. Then, maybe once they knew each other better, maybe then the vampire wouldn't feel horrible for asking for blood. He wouldn't force that on anyone unwilling.

When the man mentioned having a fight, Rowan's eyes lit up. That was what he wanted. A fight. Sure, that wasn't as good as completely messing something up, but he figure that was as best as he would get.

"I'd be up for that," he spoke this time with a smile, or rather, a smirk.

He sat there for a moment, then got up. There was now a slightly lighter, happier air around him. Which was completely understandable, if you thought about it. It was a natural reaction, human or not, if someone got to do something they wanted, they'd automatically be happy.

"Well then, let's go n' fight. "

Vex watched her friend's features as they saddened, as they always did when he spoke of that that he couldn't remember. She watched him walk away and blew out a sigh. She was relieved to have him here now, but as always she knew she was going to have to do some work to get his mind in a state of happy. She was up for the challenge, as always.

She checked herself, everything in place, no blood anywhere, suspenders in place... she flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder and pushed her way through the door and back into the casino. She saw the man at the bar that she'd had to refrain from killing earlier. Did he know something had been up? She smiled at him and continued on her way across the casino to the Blackjack table.

Huh? Her back up was gone and Jerry was there. She looked at the wall clock. Oh, her shift had actually ended. She yawned. Well good, it was time for her afternoon drink and she was fairly sure a good burlesque was going to play on the stage soon. She sauntered over the bar and ordered two of her usual, one for each hand, of course.

Regan stood with a predatory grin lifting his lips. This was certainly going to be interesting. The redhead looked forward to the upcoming battle. It had been such a long time since he'd faced anyone with the kind of suppressed anger the other man showed so easily... The thought was both exhilarating and saddening at the same time.

"Let's go out back, someplace where no one will bother us." And where there was no chance of harming anyone else. Regan didn't intend on hurting anyone at all, though he wouldn't hesitate to rough up his opponent a little. He tilted his head towards the door he'd entered through, and sauntered over casually with long strides.

Once outside, the vampire slipped behind the building into the empty parking lot. He checked quickly for any video cameras, and sighed with relief upon seeing none. If there were any, the cameras were very well hidden.

[I'm trying to use commas more and break up my paragraphs more. I'm learning!]

Jas was staring out the large glass window at the desert where the sun was on the decline and still angry when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned her head angrily, frowning harshly until she saw it was the brother of the rude man from before. They were so distinct and so different. Immediately her frown disappeared and she found herself smiling again as he finished speaking.

He was so timid it seemed. So unsure of himself and she wondered why. She also wondered what he would need protection from. There was another cushy chair across from her and she motioned for him to sit. "Want to join me?" It wasn't like she was drinking and needed company or much for company herself but she'd have liked it anyway. Besides, he was intriguing and seemed like a nice guy. Her "brother" had told her to mingle after all.

Jasmine flagged a waitress who's outfit of almost nothing caused her to blush a deep red though it shouldn't bother her so much. Emblin dragged her to places like this all the time with girls like this. It infuriated her. Quickly she ordered a club soda before turning her head to look out the window, purpously avoiding having to look at the scantily clad woman.

---------------------------------------

Emblin kept his eyes on the vampire for a moment. The man seemed too quiet and reserved for a place like this. Maybe he was a monster to. A woman approached the bar and ordered the drink with colorful hair and Emblin smiled sending her a little wink. He liked her style. Then the blonde haired woman was at the bar with the vampire between them and Emblin realized he was leaning awkwardly around the man to stare at her. She had two drinks one in each hand. Did vampires drink alcohol? He was sure she wasn't a vampire anyway. His head swam a little from his scotch drinks and he nearly fell backwards from his chair. He cleared his throat in a lame attempt to play it off and although he righted himself he continued stealing glances around the dark haired man at the purple eyed woman.

Fire engine red lips found the side of the smooth glass and Vexaline sipped at the drink in her left hand. "Mmmm..." she hummed at the sweet taste of the strong drink. She wasn't an alcoholic, well that was a lie, but since she'd been bonded to Regan she found she needed twice the alcohol to feel it's effects. It was like her body was too strong for the liquor, or fought it off or something.

She shook her head at the thought. What an awful curse for someone who loved to drink as Vex did. And then she finished off the drink and placed the empty glass on the counter. Finally she slid onto a stool to enjoy her second drink more. She glanced at the vampire beside her and noticed the red headed man from the Blackjack table staring at her. Vex blinked amethyst eyes owlishly at him for a moment. He seemed a little strange, but then again, Vex was always being stared at.

She leaned around the vampire to wink at the redhead, giving him her typical flirtatious smile, keeping the straw in her mouth so she could sip on it again as she met his eyes. Typical Vex. It was how she conned best. Pretending to be so interested in a man, bedding him and taking his valuables and disappearing while he slept. Some men didn't have much, but it beat sleeping alone, something that Vex hated though she would never admit it.

"So," she said to the vampire, "you seem like you're having a real blast. What brings you here anyway?" She still emitted a level of flirtatiousness that never really left her, but this guy seemed pretty straight laced. She'd probably have tried to win him over anyway, but the redhead on his other side seemed all but too anxious to get to know her and boy had Vex ever noticed that wad of cash he'd flashed at her Blackjack table earlier...

Eran calmly sipped at the liquid in his wine glass, while the other male and the female peered around him at one another. Clearly they were interested in each other, and he suddenly felt as if he were in the way. He would have gotten up to find a different place to sit when the female spoke to him, instead of speaking to the other male. Those eyes slid over her, and then returned to watching every thing and everyone else. "I'm on vacation, of sorts. It was recommended that I come here." His nose wrinkled just the tiniest bit, an unspoken hint that this kind of place didn't entirely suit him. Truly to him it was just a very boring place. Those eyes turned to her again. "I trust you're feeling better now?" He spoke those words very quietly, and glanced around to find her vampire friend. Wondering if the other had left this girl alone again.

((Never mind, I've gotten time to post today! Surprisingly...O.o ))

Rowan nodded as the man spoke with that predatory grin, then simply followed him. In hindsight the grin should've rubbed Row the wrong way, should've said that perhaps he was going to lose--it was something that Cill always warned him about, being careful before going into a fight and noticing little things like that grin, that is, but Row had never been good with picking up those little things, and when he did, he simply ignored it.

Rowan couldn't help but think it was a smart idea to go out back. If someone innocent were to get hurt Rowan wouldn't mind much, but he was sure he'd get hell for it from...someone...everyone really. Everything he did made at least one person mad, somewhere, and hurting people was a big no-no when it came to Rowan for some reason. Plus, he knew that if his brother saw him, Cill would blow his top. Or he would just be really upset. Or maybe he wouldn't care and just ignore Rowan?

Ahhh, Rowan thought, almost sighing, He's so unpredictable....

Then Row noticed the other man looking around, as if looking for cameras, and Rowan couldn't help but do the same. Rowan, himself, couldn't see any, and he assumed, hearing the sigh of relief escape the other man's lips, the the red head hadn't seen any either.

Running a hand through his dar strawberry-blonde hair, as if brushing out the tangles with his fingers, Rowan spoke with a sigh, but still an obvious trace of excitement in his voice, "So...Start?"

____------______------_______------______------_______-----_____------______----_____-----______-----_____------_____------_____------

When the girl spun her head around angrily, and Cillian got the frown on her face, he stepped back, surprised and slightly scared. But soon enough, in only a few seconds, that frown was transformed into a soft smile, allowing Cillian to relax, and step forward once more.

When the girl offered for him to sit down with her, Cill caught himself almost going to look at his brother--like he normally did when someone asked him a question or offered him something, it was Cill's way of asking Row if it was alright--but he quickly stopped himself from doing so, reminding himself that Rowan wasn't beside him, and that Row was angry with him. Plus, he was scared of looking back and finding out that his brother was gone.

With a quiet sigh, Cillian sat down on the chair that the girl had been motioning to, then offered the girl a small, almost apologetic smile. He still couldn't believe that Row had gotten so angry at her when she hadn't even done anything wrong. Cillian knew that Rowan had some anger problems, but sometimes his brother just went too far.

Ugh....just talk to her and stop thinking about it. It's making me angry.... he thought, almost exhaustedly.

"Uhmm...so...w-what's your n-name?" he asked, having nothing else to talk about.

((urkkk...just noticed this was a double post...sorry. ^-^" ))

That was all the invitation he needed. Regan grinned, then lunged forward to try and land a testing punch on the other man's shoulder. Whether it connected or not, he intended on dodging and shuffling around to snap a kick at the strawberry blond's leg.

Maybe he could maneuver things so he could get what he needed during the battle. No, that wasn't right. Rocks, pebbles, dirt, it all crunched beneath the vampire's feet as he danced about with a half-playful expression. He hadn't felt so alive in a long time, ironically enough.

When the waitress was gone Jasmine turned her attention back to Cillian. She could never help smiling at him for his good looks or his timid nature. "You don't have to be so nervous around me," she said bluntly. "I promise not to bite you. It's my brother you have to watch out for he's the biter." And the kidnapper and the killer and the... Jasmine realized that she'd already said too much even without adding that last part. Her and Emblin weren't really related it was that Jasmine has seen him for what he truly was and wanted to help him. Now they traveled together as she tried to keep him in line having formed a bond with him at a young age before whatever resided inside of him decided to awaken. She cleared her throat. "I'm Jasmine," she offered before spouting off another question before thinking, something that sometimes got her in trouble. "Why are you so shy anyway? I've never met a guy who looks like you who wasn't at least a little bit overly confident." The waitress set her club soda down and she took a sip waiting for his response.

Row wasn't ready whatsoever--for some reason--when the other man's fist connected with his shoulder, causing him to flinch slightly. He was about throw a punch at the man, but before he could do so, the other man kicked Rowan in the leg. Rowan expected the kick to make him fall down, but surprisingly enough, it did nothing.

Gone was Rowan's normally cocky smile and attitude, being replaced with an excited, yet playful smile, and a content attitude. This was going to be a good fight. Normally the people he fought against weren't able to land a punch, kick, or anything on him. Why? Rowan wasn't quite sure. He wasn't really good a hand-to-hand combat, so in reality he should have been an easy target. He was really only good at beating up people when they weren't expecting a fight, or just wrecking Mother Nature.

Taking a few steps to run forward, Rowan landed a punch on the other male. Where he hit, he didn't care to check. All he knew is that he hit the man. And even with that one little hit, Rowan felt happier. Fighting really was the only way a man could feel content.

____------______------_______------______------_______-----_____------______----_____-----______-----_____------_____------_____------

"Ah," Cill breathed out when Jasmine asked why he was so quiet.

The question caught him off guard. People normally didn't really care why he seemed nervous or shy or whatever. They just dealt with it. But, Cillian didn't know how to answer her question. There wasn't really a reason why he was shy, he just was. Maybe it had something to do with being the baby in the family? Or being the outcast? He wasn't quite sure. Then, the last part of what she said hit Cill.

"Wai-Wait. What do mean, so-someone like me?" he asked with a tilt of his head, completely and utterly confused.

When someone usually said "someone like you" to Cillian, it usually linked back to him being half-angel and half-demon, or being close to Lucifer, or something of that sort at least. And those situations didn't really lead anyone to be overly confident... actually, they didn't leave a person confident whatsoever. At least, it didn't leave Cillian confident. And Jasmine surely didn't know about his situation with Lucifer or anything, so she couldn't have been relating the question to that...
