((No worries, Kas! They were great posts!))

Becca nodded and gave him a smile, and no sooner was he hopping off the porch. He looked back at her with those magnificent eyes that always made her wonder what he was thinking. It wasn't like he ever said it. He was making his way to his car now. He certainly was mysterious.

She watched from her spot on the porch, unwilling to get back out in the rain just yet. There was something in his backseat; a blanket perhaps. Though it would have had to have been over something to be so tall. Maybe that's what he had to do before coming to Becca's, his dry cleaning or something.

Somehow Aiden didn't seem like the type to do any dry cleaning. Then again, he really didn't seem like the type to do laundry either. She tried to picture him on laundry day at his house. She didn't know what his house looked like though, so she couldn't help but imagine him inside the tomb. It was a silly image and she couldn't help but smile and shake her head at herself.

Becca reached back and gave the office's knob a turn to make sure it was locked, and it unlocked. She rolled her eyes and brushed it off. There was no point in locking it again. Anyone who turned the knob would be able to open the door due to the old lock. She would try to remember to put that on her list of things to get done here tomorrow; have the locks replaced.

She hopped off the porch, deciding against using her over the shoulder bag as a cover since it had the camp's bills inside. She hugged it to her as she headed quickly towards her car. Already there were puddles, and mud everywhere. She avoided them as best she could.

Once she was in front of the old Bronco, she wrenched the heavy door open and hopped inside, shivering. She cranked the engine and looked back at the office out of habit. Something registered in her brain when she looked away, and she did a double take, looking back at the office windows. Had she seen someone standing there? No... just the rain and wind playing tricks on her.

She pulled her bag over her head and dropped it in the passenger's seat and kicked her wet and muddy shoes off and pulled out of the camp lot. She headed towards her house, wondering if Aiden would be up for driving her to Onyx's house to get her car after breakfast.

Her stomach growled and she focused on the winding narrow roads lined with trees and dense forest. The rain was thick and the drops were big, splattering over her windshield in a way that she was unsure the old Bronco's window could handle. The wipers needed replaced and were hardly doing their job, not that it would have mattered, they weren't quick enough for the immense amount of rain anyway.

Visibility could only have been about twenty feet, but Becca drove these roads nearly every day, and no one came out here in the off season, especially in weather like this. So she kept her foot heavy on the gas. All she wanted was some dry clothes and bacon.

Audrey limped out into the front room after she heard the door, her face twisting at the smell of undead bloodsucker permeating the room. It wasn't as strong as the smell of smoke and wood but it was still there. She made her way toward the front door, pushing a curtain aside to peek out.

There she was, watching the receding back of what Audrey assumed was the vampire. She dropped the cloth and turned away, unable to contain the growl in her throat. She turned her head, the doorknob on the door wiggling as the amulet girl seemed to be checking it. It didn't sound locked.

She moved toward rickety old door, placing her hand on the knob before opening it slowly. She let it swing open fully, her prize gone. She could hear the rumble of an engine. She limped out onto the porch, turning her head to eye what appeared to be an old Bronco starting to pull out.

Audrey made her way out onto the porch in full, trying to get a good look at it, maybe note the licence plate for later. Not that it would help her much. Farefield was shockingly small but trying to find one car in any town was a pain. Things moved around a lot.

Oh well. She had the girl's face and car. And if she wasn't noticed in the rear view mirrors as the other pulled away she'd at least have a warm place to rest up. She could always track her down later. It had taken her much longer than a few hours to even find her in this town after all. She'd just have to be sure to get her before anything else. That was the only real thing make her want her body to hurry up what felt like the slowest healing process she's ever experienced.

"Well, I am glad that I could offer such hospitality."

A cool rush of calm rushed through him, working out knots in his muscles that he had not realized had formed. He was, in a way, relieved. Though the child had made no action to suggest that he were to suspect the priest, nor turn against him, having this guest in the private side of his church for longer than absolutely necessary was a greater risk than Kaled would care to take.

"Yes, it does appear as though nature itself wishes to keep us all locked safely indoors, doesn't it? Alas I too am waiting for the rain to thin. I must make a trip into town today - I'm afraid I've put this off for far too long."

He glided over to the fridge, grasping the handle and giving a slight tug. There was not much inside. A few stray vegetables, condiments, sliced meats. Nothing too substantial other than the half-carton of eggs - it appears that he really had been keeping this particular chore off the to-do list for longer than he had expected. While he could magic meals into existence they were typically plain and tasteless. It was why he had kept to the mortal foods on which he had been raised.

"If you wish, I could bring you to your home. Of course, only if you're comfortable riding with an old priest in an even older car."

---------- Post added 11-14-2013 at 11:06 PM ----------

It hurt to breathe. It hurt when she blinked, it hurt when the wind brushed over her skin, when the rain hit her, when she shivered against the cold - everything was melded into one ball of pain. Her body was no longer a body but a vessel for agony, liquid torture flowing through her veins now instead of blood. She wasn't healing. It felt odd, to be injured without the near-instant regeneration, without the feeling of her skin stitching itself back together, the odd sort of tugging that came along with it.

When the rain had come she had already shifted back into her human form, skin riddled with goosebumps, her hair standing on end. Carmen felt cold, so cold, even though she knew she was supposed to run warmer than the other species. It was wrong. This whole situation was wrong and she could do nothing to fix it.

Her vision had long since blurred into blocks of colours, indistinct in the distance. It was like looking at a painting that moved with your eyes.

How long had it been since the fight with Clara? She did not know - it felt like days though she knew it was extremely unlikely that was the case. Or was it? Time seemed to have no meaning in her world anymore, a foreign concept that couldn't stake a hold in her ground. Only hours, must've been, it couldn't be a day yet. Not yet.

A chill rushed over her spine even as her body temperature warmed. That last part was important though she couldn't remember why. Her wrist cramped with the sensation - from where she was curled up on her side she could see the dotted half-moon of teeth marks on her skin, bleeding even now, hours after the wound was inflicted.

Laughter. Carmen was laughing as she curled tighter into herself, ignoring the flash of pain that the movement brought. She was Dying.

Dying. With a capital 'D'.

Who would've known that her sister would literally be the death of her.

Scratch that - she knew in the end it would be one or the other left standing. Carmen or Clara, not Carmen and Clara. And it seemed as though she lost. Her. The wolf with the superior, well, everything. Her senses were sharper, her fighting more ferocious, and still she lost to a walking corpse, a glorified zombie with the sickly sweet scent of rotten flesh.

She wanted to be angry but laughter was still pouring from her lips, twisting into an ugly and inhuman sound. This wasn't how she wanted to leave. She wanted to go out with a bang, with a lasting impact, the final monologue of the play before all actors leave the stage. Not curled up, alone, cold, in the middle of a god-forsaken woods in a god-forsaken town where the only person who would remember her was the very person who had condemned her to this fate. Dimly Carmen hoped that her body would never be found - that way her twin wouldn't get the satisfaction of knowing that she had won. Though she wondered if Clara would feel it as she passed.

It was silent - too silent, no noise but that of the rain hitting her and the forest surroundings. Laughter caught in her throat as lungs seized in her chest first, no longer able to draw in the shallow breaths that had been sustaining her consciousness. Her heart beat out one last mournful thud before relaxing into stillness. It was peaceful. The wolf that had paced and howled inside her fell quiet. Only herself and the wood and the rain. Nothing else.

Carmen wanted to smile. Never before had she felt this sort of tranquility. Bubbling beneath the calm was an anger, a desperation, a part of her that wanted to live to take revenge.

Those feelings were buried under a feeling of calm. Just her and her thoughts, her thoughts..

What had she been thinking about? She couldn't remember. It probably wasn't important then. Blackness creeped in the edge of her vision and she wanted to sleep. Sleep would do her well - maybe she would remember what she had forgotten tomorrow. Yes, that sounded good. She just needed to sleep... To sleep.. To...

Randy was blushing again, a bit flustered at Kasimir's suggestion and the German just watched him with a suggestive gleam in his green eyes. Though he frowned a bit when the officer mentioned having to go back on duty. "I wont tell if you don't." He whispered the words almost conspiratorially. "After all, they don't know how long your list of people to question is, do they? Assuming they don't, you can say you were busy questioning everyone." It seemed like a good excuse to Kasimir, and his frown had once again turned to a smile. An inviting smile.

He was watching Randy closely, his full attention on the officer, but a shiver traveled down Kasimir's spine, a shiver that had nothing to do with his carnal interest in the other man. It was the kind the thief got when he was being watched, when he felt eyes on him. Goosebumps rose up on his arms, but his expression didn't change. The suggestive look left his eyes, but there was nothing in his mannerisms or expression to indicate he felt someone watching. He did turn his head though, and swept his green eyed gaze over the establishment.

Green eyes locked with the eyes of a woman. Kasimir gave her a friendly smile, she was very pretty. Though right now his attention was mostly only for Randy, and now his gaze slid back to the handsome officer in front of him. "It's your call, Randy." He spoke the officer's name in a silky, breathy tone.

As droplets fell onto her skin and slid to the ground Clara shivered, cursing mother nature and her fascination with the rain. Muscles were cramping with the cold which was unusual for her. As a vampire she had a typically below-average body temperature and so her biological makeup had been forced to adapt at working in colder temperatures. Her stomach clenched once more, and she knew that was her answer.

To feed. She needed to feed, and soon - she had not yet eaten since the week before and she was famished. That human girl from last night was supposed to have been her meal and it would've tasted all the sweeter in her hunger. And yet the opportunity to drain her had been taken away by the only sibling she had. The idiotic mutt had occupied her to the point where the girl had vanished and she herself was left with claw marks down her arms.

For a while they had bled which only served to fuel her starvation. Without fresh blood her wounds would not knit back together and she would be left scarred and forever wounded. However when she turned rabid she didn't think she'd care all that much. She needed food, and fast.

The road she had found was winding but it would lead her back into town. Clara would be able to surprise whoever was unfortunate enough to cross her path first before going to find another, filling her belly past what it could hold just so she could know what it was like to actually be full again.

Though, she thought, it seems as though my prey will come to me. The first car that had driven by had surprised her so she had hidden, dropping to the ground just a little off-road. Her front had been covered in mud, sticky and dirty and barely washed clean from the rain. That car had contained one of her kin and something else she couldn't quite get a hold on. A dog, perhaps, or a mutt like her sister, so she did not dare to risk being seen. In her state an elder vampire could easily tear her apart.

However, this time she wouldn't pass up the opportunity for a meal on wheels. The car was coming up fast but it stinked of human - and not just any human, but the pure scent of the woman Becca from before. Clara didn't have much time to act, and she certainly could jump at the car as it passed by, not at this moment, but she could very well stand in the middle of the road, looking lost and injured.

It would end in a few ways - either Becca would stop the car, get out to help, and be drained; she would run the car right through her; or she would crash into a tree. Only one of the three ended in Clara's death so she supposed the odds favoured her. Two-to-three chances of eating. 66% survival rate. Better than what it would be if she went feral so she had to take the chance.

She stood in the middle of the road, clutching her arms tightly and folding over them. Rain beat at her back and the rumble of the engine grew closer.

Let's see what fate will become of Becca.

The road continued winding and the rain continued beating against the windshield. Becca squinted into the rain, cursing the old Bronco's wipers. No matter. She knew these roads like the back of her hand.

She reached down to see if the heater had warmed up enough to not blast her with air that would only make her colder. She turned a knob and pushed a lever and the warm air began blowing loudly from the vents. Ahh, that was much better.

Becca looked up just in time to see something in the road. A person! Instinctively both hands clutched the wheel and turned. Her foot slammed down on the break at the same time. No tires would screech, not in this rain. Instead, they slid. Becca was losing control of the large vehicle and she barely missed the person in the road, if she did in fact miss them. She might have clipped them, she might never know.

The Bronco spun quickly and Becca tried remembering what she was supposed to do. Turn the wheel the opposite direction? Let go all together? Everything was happening so quickly and she couldn't see anything. Was she near the river? Had the hit the person? Few thoughts could make their way into Becca's mind before the two tires on the driver side of the Bronco found the shoulder of the road.

They found gravel, then dirt, grumbling over rock for but a moment before continuing in its spin into the trees. A final spin, and a slight tip of the Bronco. It was going over. It should have. But instead it wrapped itself around a tree, keeping the Bronco from flipping, and from sliding down the bank into the river.

The force of the impact, on Becca's side just at the backseat door, caused various things in the vehicle to pelt Becca as it slammed her into her door. Glass shattered and metal screeched and bent in an instant.

Her ears were ringing and her vision was blurred. Becca couldn't feel her body. It was okay, she was just having such an intense adrenaline rush that she was sort of, out of body. She looked down at herself. All of her parts seemed to be there, and they didn't appear mangled, that was good news.

Her face closest to her window was wet. Was the rain coming into the Bronco now? She looked at the window, shattered, and yes, letting minimal amounts of rain into the vehicle, though it was mostly covered by tree branches. How had this happened? Becca couldn't recall.

She couldn't recall where she was, or why she'd been there, or why she was here. Her head felt like it was underwater. The rain sounded distant, her breathing reminded her of old astronaut movies. She blinked hard a few times trying to think. There was another sound, something loud, droning... Where was her cell phone?

Everything had happened in a minute's time. Now, as her head began to clear, the droning sound was getting louder and louder, until it was nearly unbearable. The horn. The Bronco's horn was stuck. Becca banged weakly on the wheel a few unsteady times, and it stopped. How long had it been stuck for? How long had she been here for? Was the person in the road okay?

The person in the road! That's why she was here! Becca needed to check on them. Oh God what if she'd hit them and killed someone? Shaky hands unbuckled her seat belt. As she moved to position herself to crawl across the seats so she could exit through the passenger side door, a pen, a small notepad, and other tiny bits of debris fell from her. And she hurt.

She wasn't sure where exactly. Her head, that was bleeding from a large gash hidden in the left of her hair that was now becoming soaked with the steady flow of the blood loss. She'd need stitches there, though she didn't know it existed yet. Her left arm and left leg hurt from absorbing the impact of hitting the tree. But she couldn't think of herself now. There was someone out there in the road, maybe dead...

Becca fumbled her way clumsily, with a spinning head, across the Bronco, pulling the door handle and pushing the heavy thing open. She slid out of the tall vehicle and right onto the ground. Her legs were weaker than she'd known. It didn't matter. Someone, in the road...

She pushed herself up in the ditch, holding onto her left arm with her right hand. It was aching so. She limped slowly up the slight incline of the ditch and stumbled onto the road. Rain pelted her skin, but she didn't seem to notice it anymore. It washed the blood through her now dark looking hair, over the left side of her face and over her long sleeved shirt.

Becca was shaking. Maybe from the chill, maybe from the loss of blood, maybe the adrenaline, the fear... from all of those things. Momentarily she wished she'd searched for her phone. Standing there at the side of the road, Becca searched the rain for the person who'd been in the road. The rain was thick, and Becca didn't know how far the Bronco had slid away.

All she could think was that there was someone out there in the road, and another car could come by at any moment and finish them off. Or maybe she'd already done that. Her stomach turned. She headed out into the middle of the road and back in the direction she'd driven from. She'd have to come across the person, or body, this way. Her entire body convulsed before she got a hold of herself again, continuing forward slowly into the rain.

Close. Too close. If Clara didn't turn in just the right way at just the right time she would've been caught by the car and propelled back into the forest, bones broken and unable to move, would've been condemned to a crueller fate. As it was the hunking mass of metal skidded by her, barely missing her body. She watched as it crashed, windows smashed out, horn blaring.

That horn wasn't good. It could alert all manners of creatures to the fact that there was a crash, that there could be easy prey lying around for them. It could bring that vampire turning back. So she hid, just a little ways off of the road, belly pressed against mud and roots. Seven minutes. If Becca did not appear in five minutes she would have to go searching for her, and it was likely that if in that amount of time she didn't come lumbering out of the car she was dead. Or unconscious - either way it would be easy pickings.

The horn stopped abruptly and Clara heard the grown of metal, the shifting of glass and detritus as what was likely the door was forced open. She kept low to the ground, waiting for the woman to come back into her sight.

There! A shape stumbling, limping in the rain, coming towards her. Her vision tunnelled and her fangs lengthened. It was only her and Becca and the wound on her head. Oh it was pouring out blood now, staining blonde hair a dirty red and inviting her in. Standing she stepped back out onto the road, walking with purpose towards the human. Finally she would be able to feed, to remove herself from the hunger that ravaged her.

For now, anyway.

Hours passed, it had to have been hours. Becca looked back, and couldn't see the Bronco any longer. She continued forward. What else could she do? There was someone out here, who might need her, if she hadn't killed them already. She had to stop thinking like that, it was making her sick.

Finally, Becca saw something. Someone was emerging from the rain, walking towards her. Oh thank God! She moved forward quicker. This person was walking with intent, towards Becca. Could it be the person from the road? It appeared to be. But, something was wrong. The hairs on the back of Becca's neck stood on end as the person, the woman, came into a clearer view for Becca.

It was the woman from the party. The woman from the party, who'd been from out of town, who was somehow here in the road, who was now walking towards her like this... had all be in the plan...

Becca immediately assumed that this woman was the one in charge of the death at the party, though it wasn't true. Even though it wasn't the right assumption, she was still on the right path. This woman was dangerous. Supernatural. She believed in those things now. And with each passing moment, the idea of it seemed less silly.

She'd stopped walking towards the woman, who was advancing too quickly, menacingly. Becca took a step backwards. What had the police officer said? Silver? Becca didn't have any damn silver! Well, that had been careless of her. Something that could be costing her her life, at this very moment.

Becca didn't know enough about the supernatural. Was this woman a werewolf, a vampire? Maybe she was a leprechaun. Okay, so maybe it was still just a little silly. Never the less, Becca needed to get serious. If this woman was really dangerous, Becca needed to be doing something to protect herself, or run away at the very least. Running away sounded like a good idea.

She took a step back onto her bad leg to turn, but it had been a poor choice of the two legs to rely on. It wobbled, and though she caught herself, she'd wasted too much time. Too much time thinking instead of acting, and too much time making poor decisions. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. Vampires were much too quick for humans, especially injured ones.

Becca was already part way to the ground, so she turned, placing herself on her butt to look at the woman whom she thought she'd already met at the party. She wanted to speak. To ask about the woman's kind, to ask why, but no words came. Her head was still spinning too much, adrenaline still pumping through her system, and fear too lodged in her throat.

Perhaps the woman would wonder what the hell was wrong with Becca, help her up and call for an ambulance. Maybe, once again, Becca's mind was playing tricks on her. Maybe the crash had gotten the best of her. Maybe she was having a nightmare. Yes, just a nightmare. She'd wake up any moment now...

She was making it too easy. Too easy. Clara could feel herself salivating, just the thought of sinking her teeth into that thin neck, the feeling as the life flowed into her. Everything about Becca screamed 'prey', every movement, every breath. She watched as the human stumbled and fell, becoming disoriented.

This would be the easiest feed she had and she had fed a lot in her short years as a vampire. Her boots squelched in the mud, sticking with each step as she brought her self closer, closer until she was standing over the woman. She could feel the press of her fangs on her bottom lip.

Bending she reached out and cupped the cheek of her meal, smiling toothily, a stark contrast to the hunger she knew would be in her eyes. Clara inhaled deeply, taking in the sweetness. This would be delicious, perhaps the best she would taste in all her lifetime, and she wanted to savour it even though the need was great. She brought the human's head towards her, and she licked at the wound on her head. Oh, she was right. It was like the nectar of the gods, something that was unworthy to be housed within this frail mortal vessel. It would be better flowing through her own veins.

She was going to enjoy this.

Everything was turning out so well so far, and nothing could go wrong or atleast that is what he thought. Aiden was invited to her house two days in a row and that's progress even though he wasn't expecting it so soon. He thought he might make a "chance" meeting with in town somewhere.. wherever she may be at that time. Perhaps at that antique store or diner or some other place, any place but the Church that is on the other side of the graveyard. It was warded, against Vampires and Werewolves but what else it was warded against he couldn't say. It was like a cloudy window to him for his senses except for his sight which can clearly see the Church. He looked in the rear view mirror, and opened his mouth "We'll have to do this another time, I'll see you at home.. perhaps this evening. Can't bring you along for obvious reasons." Sasha had looked up at him when he told her he was going to see her later, which meant he was dropping her off. She thought about protesting, but just bobbed her head up and down in response. Though she would stay close, she always did.

Aiden pulled off onto a dirt road that was a shortcut to his house and temporarily parked the car under the cover of a cluster of trees. "Don't worry I'll be sure to sneak you some bacon." He laughed thinking about the bacon strips commercial and Sasha being it instead of the dog. Aiden visualized the backseat of the driver's side door in his minds eye and imagined pulling the door handle to open the door. With that, there was a click and the door swung open as Sasha walked out rather then jumped out of the car due to her size. She looked back at Aiden before placing a huge paw that was pretty dirty, due to stepping into some mud, onto the door and closing it. It looked she was grinning but he couldn't really tell. Though it was safe to assume she was because Aiden knew she knew that he wouldn't like that. He watched as she practically pranced off through some trees. When she was no longer in view he backed the 1967 Chevy Impala back onto the road and made a U-turn to go back the direction he came. His and Rebecca's house was a straight shot from each other meaning you didn't have to really make any turns except for maybe one or two.

Rebecca should be home already she wasn't more then maybe what.. a couple of minutes behind him? And then the time it took him to get close to house to drop Sasha off, then turn around should be enough of time. Enough time for her to alert who was there, most likely her family, that they had a guest for breakfast. Just when he was passing up the turn he took early off the main street that lead to Bloodlake Camp he started to hear something. He didn't know what it was though, as he passed closer it became alittle bit louder and more distinct but it suddenly stopped. Was that a horn? Or something else entirely? Either way Aiden turned back down the Bloodlake street and didn't drive too long before he noticed something off in the ditch. The first thought that came to him was of course his meal, he had wanted to grab one that was more to his taste that would really satisfy him. Then a second thought entered his mind that made him stop the car. He looked out through the window to examine the wreckage and the scene.

It looked like someone braked their car too hard and spun out of control, off the shoulder and into some trees. And sure enough to his dismay the car that was wrapped around the tree somewhat looked just like Rebecca's old Bronco. He stepped out of his car, closing the door behind him and walked down the slight incline to the truck to look inside. He thought because he didn't see her she might have been laying down inside. She wasn't.

Fear and pain were clouding Becca's judgement. She couldn't decide if this were real or not anymore. In fact, she wasn't even looking at Clara anymore, but at the ground, the rain, the trees... Everything seemed real enough. It wasn't until the icy touch of the woman's hand on her cheek, that Becca was sure she wasn't dreaming.

She'd wrecked her truck, because of this creature. This creature was probably the reason for all the death at the party. Her and her... creature... pals. Becca was still clouded. She was angry, and scared, she thought. Maybe confused. The woman pulled Becca closer and, licked her.

Immediately Becca tried pulling away, lashing out, kicking, anything to get this freak away from her. Who the hell licked people!? Vampires probably. Getting a taste or something. Uhg. The thought made Becca shudder.

As it was, no amount of anything would deter the woman. Becca's strength was but a feather to a brick. "Let me go," she said, sternly, though shakily. Hey, for all Becca knew, the creature would listen. Maybe Becca would be lucky.

She thought she heard the sound of a car door over the rain. Could it be? Maybe someone had come across her Bronco. While Clara would probably be able to hear Aiden's very footsteps, Becca was still unsure if she'd even heard the door. She wasn't going to wait and see if someone stumbled on them in time.

So she screamed. "Help! Over here! Someone help me!" Her cries were pleading and frantic. Whoever was out there might be her only hope. She continued pushing at the woman in any way she could, and would continue screaming until someone came, or until she was stopped, whichever came first.

Nate returned his attention to Kaled, turning his head from the window just in time to see him move off to the fridge. He looked away when it was tugged open, eyes landing on the table.

He turned his head when the priest offered to give him a ride out to the house, eyeing the man quietly for a few moments. He should probably say no. The house was so far out of the way from town; had to take a back road behind a back road just to get out there. But he soon looked away, turning to stare out the window quietly at the fat droplets that splattered the grass and tombstones and he sighed.

He turned back to the priest, giving him a small grateful smile. "Yeah a ride would be nice," he murmured, ignoring the sudden uneasy burst in his stomach. It wasn't that hard to. More just a slight nervousness of being alone in a car with a man he met barely twelve hours ago. "If it ends up being too far out of the way for you though drop me off somewhere. I should be fine."

That last bit was an after thought, something he added just in case. He didn't want to ask too much of this man, didn't want make Kaled take Nate all the way out to backwoods nowhere just because he didn't want to get wet. "Thank you. Again. You're...a real life saver," he said, voice hitching with a slight chuckle as he made his way back over to the table and his bag.

As the the daylight attempted to build up outside through the grey sky, the clock began to chime, a mournful noise, nine times it ran. Peters suit rustled against his chair as he stood, he pulled open a draw in his desk, and reached in. He pulled out a small vial, with a light green stopper, and slipped in an inside pocket, before briskly walking to the glass sphere on one of the shelves. When he peered at it, he abruptly raced over towards the door, and grabbed an old poster from a wall, turned it over and began to scrawl some strange symbols upon the blank back. He fastened it to a cork board with a pin, with a viscous stab. Then again reached to his inside jacket pocket, and opened the green vial, he took a sip, and placed back both the stopper and vial into his pocket. Peter swung open the door and out onto the street. He walked around to the side of the store, and up to a dark green Lincoln. Just as Peter placed his hand on the door handle, he looked up just in time to see a flash of lightening in the distance.
" no time" he stated to himself, as his face began to distort and blur, his hand began to blacken, and fade, soon his whole body had began to disperse into a dark mist, with a slight purple hue that resembled a humanoid form. It swirled and swirled the wind blew stronger, and here and there blow a whisp of the shadowy cloud away. But then it truly dispersed.

Somewhere close by, by a sodden road, and a wrecked old vehicle lay battered. Amongst the trees in the shadows, something stirred, an even darker shadow took shape, like thousands of grains of sand coming together, it grew solid, substantial. Soon the person known as Peter stood there, he took stock of the area gazing both ways and behind, before whispering " no harm shall come of her" the whisper seem to carry on the wind, as Peter scowled and set off with his limp.

(Everyone has such long posts ;-; I'm so lame. Just über busy with school. Studying to become a psychiatrist is not easy >.>)

Finally finishing her food, Onyx nodded in response to Becca having to much on her plate. "She's always doing other tasks besides remembering things that are seemingly important." This was true, Onyx's best friend always had been forgetful of major things, but seemed to always remember little tasks or bits of information. It sometimes was a bother.

Onyx set down her fork and took a drink of the orange juice set in a glass in front of her, feeling a fluffy ball run against her leg. Onyx peered down quickly to notice Memow weaving back and forth under the small table. That's when Onyx's attention was turned to the statement of a 'hottie' practically living in the house. Onyx couldn't help but blush. Was that directed at her? Or one of Becca's other friends? She couldn't tell. But Onyx sure hoped it was about her.

Getting questions about Onyx's family always made her very uneasy. She couldn't quite answer them right, but she was sure going to try. "I don't know to be exact. They all became very hateful once they found out I'm a axe murderer. What a tragedy. We could've been the Axe family instead of Nguyen!" With this, Onyx couldn't help but smile. She was never one to be serious, and she certainly wasnt going to start now.

The human was screeching, the sound too close to her ears to be anything but piercing. And the struggling she was putting up was beginning to get annoying. With the woman yelling it would attract any in their vicinity, any predator looking for easy eats.

No, this time she's mine. Mine.

With one of her hands Clara grabbed a handful of hair, roughly jerking Becca's head so that her neck was exposed. The other snagged a flailing wrist, squeezing until she could feel the bones grind against one another under her palm. She could've done this the easy way if the meatsack just cooperated. Now it seemed as though it would be messier than she wanted, especially if the human kept wriggling the way she was.

She opened her mouth, white fangs long and dripping with saliva. It was hard, picking a spot to puncture with the woman struggling and moving and writhing. Pinpointing a place that wouldn't kill her right away was difficult, until - there. An opening where the shoulder joined the neck. Clara took the chance immediately, sinking her lengthened canines into bare flesh.

It was indescribable, like she was drinking something not of this world. The nectar flowed down her throat and she could feel her mind beginning to return to her, clear thoughts emerging once more, no longer controlled by that hunger. She had a ways to go until she was back to normal but at least now with her regaining strength she could savour this moment. No need to worry about the frail human overpowering her - not as if it were that likely of a possibility to begin with.

"I'd rather not have you stumbling about in this rain. Odd things happen when the whether runs rampant, after all. Or that may just be an old wives worry."

Kaled closed the fridge, hands empty. It seemed as though his breakfast would have to wait until after noon had passed - his errands would take time. He doubted he would be back before the noonhour had come upon them. No matter - he tended not to eat much even with a fully stocked fridge. Another day without a proper meal wouldn't drain him of his energy.

He turned to face Nate, clasping his hands together in front of him in a gesture that not only made him seem more like a priest, but also displayed the fact that he would not harm the child. The subtlety of body language was always a useful tool, especially when he couldn't be bothered to use his magic to force a perception onto another.

It seems as though I'm developing laziness - that needs to be rectified.

"Well, we are free to leave on your word. Now or later, it does not matter - the rain does not seem to want to leave any time in the near future. If you wish to depart further on in the day, please tell me. I could use the time to work on piling paperwork in my study. Unfortunately I do not have much in the way of entertainment, unless you do not mind playing with children's toys."

He couldn't keep a television around lest it sparked into a technological death around him. Science and magic tended to not mix well together - few electronic items could remain intact and functioning around him and his spells. The stronger the wizard, the worse it got, and there were very few with his level of power. He would lament over the fact he could not own a cellular phone but he found that he just could not bring himself to care.

Kaled grew up without them, after all. He could survive without.

((No worries fly! Your posts are just fine!

@EVERYONE-- A few of us have done some updating of profiles, as well as added different photos. We've also got new profiles. So everyone should go and skim over the new stuffs. ))

Charming. Onyx was absolutely charming, in a way that she didn't seem to mean to be. Matt laughed. She was funny. And it was obvious she didn't want to talk about her family. He wouldn't force her to. Though he hoped she could open up to him, at some point.

He'd already shoveled most of his food into his mouth, basically inhaling it. He checked his watch to see the time. He still had many hours until his meeting with Officer Randolph tonight. He wanted to do some research of his own between now and then.

"When we're done, I'd like to check some things out in the library. If Becca isn't back by then, you wanna come?" Matt was hoping Onyx would say yes. It wasn't a date, at all. But, he'd still feel turned down if she said no. Besides, he wasn't big on reading. Perhaps Onyx could help him out.

He finished off a pancake and the rest of his eggs. "Sure wish I had some orange juice," he grumbled. He wasn't really upset, just more making a joke at Becca's expense.

Becca was still screaming for help when the vampire tangled her fingers in Becca's wet hair and jerked her head back. It caused Becca's current yell for help to cut short into a shocked and pained whimper. Her heart was beating so fast now, that she thought it'd explode before the creature could ever have the pleasure of killing her off herself.

She pushed at the vampire's face, but the creature gripped Becca's wrist like a steel vice. She was crushing her bones, Becca was sure of it. She cried out in pain, and in helplessness. Just a day ago, Becca didn't believe things like this were real, just bad movie material. But here she was, laying in the middle of nowhere in the road, being pelted by rain, injured, and about to be drained of blood.

Would she die? Would she become a vampire? Becca didn't know how it worked. All of the movies were different. She didn't have much time to think about anything before she felt the sharp pang of vampire fangs pierce her flesh. She screamed out again, but this time it wasn't for help. It was fear and agony that fueled this cry.

"Please!" she begged, unable to move her head at all. "Please, stop..." she sobbed. She was pushing at the woman with her injured arm, ignoring the shooting pains in her other. She'd lost enough blood from the accident, and now she was losing more. She was going to die.

He stared at the truck for what seemed like forever, but really was only two or three seconds. He was feeling something, some type of emotion but he didn't what. He rarely felt anything other then hunger and amusement. But it was there, gnawing at him within the depths of his dark existence. He noticed the passenger door was open, which meant two things. Either she climbed out or she was pulled out. Aiden looked at the muddy ground mixed with dirt, as if he could see something. When he was finished he walked back up to his car and looked both ways, then behind him.

Which way? he thought before he heard a familiar voice with a unfamiliar tone. It sounded frantic, and full of fear... it sounded alot like Rebecca. He looked to his left, it seemed that that was the way he needed to go, and wasn't about to waste anytime. Her scream was a press for immediate action almost as if it was a life or death situation. Aiden not really caring if anyone saw him or not, but if she was indeed ok all he had to do when she came in view was just adjust his speed. He took off running, not quite at full speed but, I suppose you could alittle faster than Usain Bolt when sprinting.

The world seemed to slow down as he heard a whisper.. No harm shall come of her...

Harm? To who? Who is 'her'? The questions ran through his mind as he felt something, a very odd presence that wasn't there before.

The world seemed to go back to the speed it was before the whisper rode upon the winds of the soon to be storm. He could see two figures ahead of him, they seemed to be sitting on the ground, but why would they especially in this weather. One was a brunette and the other was blonde....blonde... it had to be Rebecca and she was still crying out for help. There was something extremely off about this picture, besides the obvious cries. Focusing his hearing he could hear something it almost sounded like drinking. His eyes looked towards the ground where their bodies met the pavement and he thought he could see faint red, it was almost opaque/gone.

Aiden used his full speed then, nothing really mattered at this point except for the monstrosity that was happening before him. Whoever this Vampire was, she had the audacity to feed upon Rebecca. He heard her whimper of pain and his eyes became aglow with aggression and not just figuratively but literally as well. Without much thought like everything else he did but with a strong emotion as well. Aiden had to be careful on how he tore off the offending Vampire, he didn't want her ripping out anything but her fangs or that would pose a huge problem for him and Rebecca's family. Wait why would he care at all about Rebecca's family.. he was just using her after all to get what he wanted, wasn't he?

Aiden stopped a hairs breadth away from Clara's face and Rebecca's shoulder, he let out a guttural growl as he used his telekinesis to open Clara's mouth forcefully. "I know you hear her wish." With his strength, shoved her with his left arm and shoulder and propelled her down the street, how far didn't matter... she'd be back. If she was smart she'd back off, but who knew?

He wouldn't have to wait long too see what the other would decide. For now he focused on Rebecca, where her bite was placed. It was one of those where didn't want your prey dead, you wanted them alive as you drained them of their life. You wanted them to feel it being sucked away from them. The sound of you drinking. He didn't know how responsive she was because he didn't exactly know how long she had a leech. Though her heart beat wasn't faint but it wasn't exactly normal either. With a frown placed upon his face and concern in his glowing eyes, "Rebecca, are you okay? Can you hear me?"

Randolph was tempted by Kasimir's offer, very tempted. He knew he was red as a tomato, an unfortunate consequence of fair skin. He didn't know what to do, and the suggestive look in Kas' green eyes was making it difficult to think clearly. He was a little relieved, when Kas turned his head away, even for a moment. He was vaguely aware of Kasimir smiling at someone else, but for the most part he was lost in his own thoughts, which were going a mile a minuted

On one hand, he had never been the type for one night stands. On the other, he'd never been so immediately, overwhelmingly attracted to someone when first meeting them. On one hand, he knew very little about Kasimir, and he was fairly sure he was here partially to avoid having Randolph talk to his roommate, 'Hiro' on the register.” On the other, he probably only had a couple of weeks to live, why not live it up? On the other other hand, he'd like to keep his self respect.

As Kasimir focused on him once again, Randolph's thoughts were interrupted. Kasmir told him it was his decision, which didn't help him make one, although the breathy way he said Randolph's name made it clear which way he hoped Randolph would decide. The thing was, aside from all personal concerns, he had duties, and he couldn't abandon his responsibilities like that.

He shook his head. “I... I can't. It's not that I don't want to, and if this was an ordinary day, I might, but they need every man they've got right now, and I can't be selfish, no matter how much I might want to.”

Peter trudged from the edge of the darkness past the wrecked vehicle, through the streaming rain he could make out figures ahead of him, he could not quite make out with his eyes how many, they were all too close, moving. But he knew there was three, three very distinct beings, not weak, but strong... Peter paced forward, as he sped his limp disapated more. He was almost jogging.
When Peter got close enough too see them more clearly, he didn't recognise any of their faces, he may not know who they are but he knew what they were. At least two anyway. He could make out a male holding a human female, her neck streaming with bright glistening claret. A female a few yards away, her face still grimacing in a mixture of anger, and frustration. The humans blood still clung to her face and lips. He could sense her, so fresh, so so, young. The rain began to wash the blood, down her slender neck to her cleavage where it bled into her clothes staining them. Peters lips seemed hardly to move, just a mere tremble as he spoke softly
"Calm child, still. We need speak but be Calm... Or you shall be torn asunder" the last words came out although just as soft, more sinister, a declaration of fact, rather than of bravado or threat.
He stared at this still young blood sucker for another split second before arcing his neck to look at the other two.
The male, musty and older, Peter sensed he had lingered many more days than the female, and with all that time came the strength, all that life force devoured. He thought to himself he could be used perhaps, if he wanted the power enough? The male was saying something to the human. She was still heavily bleeding this will not do
"Vampire! Offspring of Judas!" he announced his presence. "You will assist me to heal her... No,harm shall come of her" he hissed afterwards.

((Speaking of profile updates I should update Nate's at some point the fact I sent it unfinished still bugs me immensely.))

"I think I'd prefer sooner to later. Get out of your way faster so you won't have to deal with me anymore," Nate said, leaning down to grab his bag, lifting it with a grunt. He turned when he swung it onto his back, smiling when he noticed that Kaled had turned to face him.

He blinked when he noticed the man didn't have any food in his hands, wondering if he would eat before they actually went. "We can go after your breakfast if you want. Don't want you to skip a meal over me."

He shifted his bag on his shoulder, turning to look back out the window for a moment. He was silent for then, just watching the woods sway in the rain before looking away. If he was to admit he was....kind of eager to get back to the house. And that was confusing. The place was a box of nightmares with too many rooms surrounded by very old, twisted trees that spread for miles on every side. Yet he was eager and ready to be back. Like he belonged there. Like it was his only true home.

He swallowed thickly before looking back to the priest, giving him a smile as he waited.

((Just so everyone is up to date with the plan. I think Aiden will be killing off Clara, since Bee's school stuff is getting to be a lot and she's taking Clara and Carmen out of the play. And depending on Becca's injuries, she and Aiden may or may not blood-share. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know! ^^

Also, I'll make a small post. Just so I'm not doing strictly OOC. Is everyone subscribed to the real OOC?))

The pains hadn't seemed to dull any in her arm or leg, and now new pains were shooting up through the wrist that was being crushed. Did the vampire even realize she was doing it? Becca was beginning to feel light headed as blood dripped from her hair, washing away with the rain, and as the vampire drank of her.

Becca had given blood at a blood bank once. It didn't take a lot to get one feeling dizzy and disoriented. She had to have lost at least that much by now. Tears had welled up in Becca's eyes, but washed away with the rain as it fell onto her eyes and cheeks. After a moment, she'd lost the energy to even cry at all. Her body was trying to do too many things at once; work on healing her injuries, while losing blood. It was a losing battle. And one that was leaving her feeling exhausted.

She was about to give up. Becca knew first hand now, how futile it was to resist or fight a vampire. Too bad she wouldn't have the time to pass on the knowledge. No, she wouldn't be here much longer now at all. But, perhaps the vampire hadn't intended on killing her at all! Becca had hope. Maybe she only needed, reminding. Yes, a reminder that Becca was a person, and that she didn't want to die.

Becca opened her mouth, still feeling the pull of her blood being sucked from her body. She'd wanted to say things, intelligible sentences... but she was feeling so drained. No pun intended. "Please," she tried again weakly. "Stop..."

It was in that next moment, that Becca felt the fangs pull from her flesh. But there was another voice there with them. Becca searched for the familiar sound through a haze. She couldn't focus anymore, and then she was falling. The vampire had released her, dropping her carelessly, so it would seem to Becca.

Someone was saying her name, asking her if she was okay. Why were they so far away? He sounded so far... Had she fallen to the ground? Had he caught her? She couldn't tell. Her body felt so light, and the rain, though it hadn't stopped, she wasn't feeling it now either.

Sapphire eyes squinted lightly, trying hard to focus on the face there above her. She was frowning. Finally, for just a moment at best, the fog cleared. "Ai-den..." Becca croaked through a dry throat. The fog had come back ten fold and he was gone again. Aiden was there. She knew those multi colored eyes and those fangs anywhere.

Fangs? No. She was mixing them up, Aiden and the vampire. She'd hit her head too hard. Aiden, a vampire. How ridiculous. The faintest of amused smiles flitted over her now pale lips before a darkness consumed her. If anyone else had been in the area, Becca was unaware.

As it stood, Becca had a concussion. Sleeping wasn't in her best interest. She needed stitches on the gash in her hair, her clavicle was cracked, the muscles in her hip and thigh badly damaged, and her wrist was now crushed, on top of a hefty amount of blood loss.

((Guess I decided to really jack Bec up. Lol pooor Becca.))

Peter stood over the two, the male vampire, holding the broken human, her life force slipping away. Peter could feel it drifting slowly to the other side no he thought not here, not now, not like this, she was too important. Meanwhile the female vampire crouched like an animal about to pounce.
Peter turned leant over the male vampires shoulder, just as the girl dazed in and out of consciousness
"Ai-den" she spoke softly

Peter whispered into this Aidens ear
" Do you want to save her? This human girl...?" This wasn't as much of a question as an observation "then she needs to feed... Your blood has power, you are not new, and young...then you must dispatch the pest"

Kasimir watched Randy almost intently. Studying every minute expression on that face. It was clear to the thief that the officer wanted to take him up on his offer, but also didn't. The man was torn, Kasimir could see that before Randy ever even responded to his words. A slight look of disappointment flickered across Kasimir's features. "Today is just as ordinary as any other day." He spoke the words in a slightly dismissive tone, easily dismissing Randy's reasoning as some kind of lame excuses. "It's alright if you aren't as interested in me as I am in you, I understand. Some guys don't go for other guys and that's just fine. At least if your going to make excuses, you should make better ones than that."

That disappointment turned to annoyance, and Kasimir leaned back against his seat and turned his head away. No longer looking at Randy, those green eyes were scanning the interior of the diner again. Looking for the woman that had been watching them earlier. Kasimir's jaw was set tight, and he looked very annoyed at having some lame excuse thrown his way. It was just an act, but a very convincing one.

Aiden was soo entranced waiting for a reply from Rebecca and looking over, he noticed a very vivid bruise on her of wrist. Only lord knows what other problems she had. Then he heard something, he couldn't quite tell what was said, but he understood what they said the second time. He looked up to see an old man limping towards them, and Aiden didn't look all to pleased. He had that some odd presence as that whisper he heard earlier and he didn't like it. Could he be a warlock? Maybe.

She had said his name. Aiden turned back to Rebecca and watched her from anymore response, but that was all he would get out of her, but that was okay.. as long as she could talk it meant she was alive. She was so weak her movements, all of them, were sluggish. Just he was thinking of what he was going to do to help her. Aiden noticed the old man was towering of them after he whispered next to him. He couldn't help but hold her closer as he gave the other a side was glance.

He didn't even bother responded, he knew the old man wasn't seriously asking a question, but what was he talking about. How would he know anything about blood sharing. Not just that he told him he wasn't new. So he knows what I am Aiden dismissively thought, as he looked back to Rebecca, her eyes were closed but he could see faint movement behind those eyelids of hers. She was still there. His mind was torn between her and the old man, just who was he?

Repositioning himself and Rebecca to cradle her in his right arm, he lowered his head towards her ear. She would hear him but whether or not she understand was the question, "I want you to drink something for me, repay me with this." He raised his head slightly and with his left arm he placed his wrist near his mouth so that his fangs could puncture that cold dead skin that was oddly still soft and not stiff. He could feel the blood emerging and slowly start to drip off of his wrist, licking his mouth he moved his wrist right above Rebecca's mouth, not quite touching just yet. It wasn't a moment of hesitation or indecision it was something else. Aiden squeezed his hand to get the blood to flow alittle bit better and he did so a few drops dropped upon her rain kissed cheek. He softly gave her a pat (slap) on the other cheek that didn't not have the blood on it as well as give her a tiny shake. "Rebecca...wake..up." He said it forcefully with alot of power as he placed his bleeding wrist onto her soft pink lips. As he did he could feel those lips parting slightly.

----

Lilith became bored waiting, her excitement for the smile the young blonde man gave her wore off and looked down at the table, with one of her hands she began to scratch at the laminated white wood. She stopped when she heard the woman footsteps and covered the unreadable scribbles. Smiling a wide smile, so much so she could feel her fangs puncturing her lower lip. Lilith titled her head alittle as she watched the woman set it down and asked if she needed anything else. "As a matter of fact I do, could you show me to the restroom?" She lowered her shades and locked those crimson eyes of her with the other female. Using the vampiric powers given to her she highly suggested that the woman agree and show her where the restroom was.

Raising her shades back up, leaving her pie unattended she followed the women towards the restroom. And just as fate would have it no one was around them. Lilith playfully pulled the other woman in the woman's restroom and pushed her up against a wall. Covering her mouth to stop any protest. She removed her shades quickly with her other hand and placed them in between her cleavage and onto her corset. She leaned her head to the side as she use her free hand to softly pet the woman's hair. "Shh... " She whispered in her unpleasant two toned voice. She looked again in the woman's frightened eyes, "You will enjoy this, and after your shift you will come to my house. Mention this to no one." With that she released the others mouth. Lilith placed both her hands on either side of her and pulled the waitress close to her. She loved it when they offered up their life force. Though she would have liked it if they scream and squirmed while doing it but the location prevents that.

Her pearly and sharp fangs soon pierced that delectable walking blood bag's shoulder, though she bit closer to the neck. Holding her closer she enjoyed the taste of the iron in the blood and how warm it felt. She was careful to waste any of it. When she felt the other becoming alittle weak she stopped. Smiling, she licked her blood ridden lips and the puncture wood one last time. She watch as the blood stopped flowing, and it didn't take long for it to stop all together, for the wound was healing and disappearing. Leaving no trace. Putting back her shades back on, she left the restroom and sat back down. Lilith looked at her pie like she disgusted or full, and frowned.

Lilith's mood changed and she dipped her finger into the whip cream that was pretty much on its way to be flat and slipped the cream that was on her finger into her mouth. She looked away from her uneaten pie to the two she was watching earlier. The one who had smiled at her looked extremely annoyed. "Maybe we should go save him!" She whispered to no one. She got up and moved to the bar counter and sat herself down in one of those backless bar stools that spin. She couldn't help move the stool left to right. Lilith looked back to the two she was watching and smiled, the annoyed one was bound to notice her eventually. Not just for her rather weird movements in the chair, but her sudden appearance.

All was quiet in Becca's mind. Too quiet perhaps. Someone was holding her, she knew. Her aches and pains were dulled throbs, mere bumps and scrapes in her mind. She tried to remember what she needed to do today. Milk and juice. Her brother, and Onyx were waiting for her to bring the groceries. Yes, she needed to hurry.

A voice in her ear, soft and familiar, maybe somewhat urgent. Drink something? Was it water? Becca's throat was so dry, she desperately wanted a glass of water. Water. Yes, that's what that dull constant sound was. It was raining. It was a beautifully relaxing sound. Enough to, put one to sleep...

Someone was shaking her out of her limbo dream state. How rude. She was so exhausted, all she wanted was sleep! It was the slaps on her cheek that really did it. Someone was going to get a good chewing out when she decided to get out of bed. Then the liquid was on her lips, the water, yes. He'd wanted her to drink something. He?

Becca's lips parted, and as the liquid ran over her tongue, she drank it down. It was thicker than water though, and it tasted differently, too. That was okay, she was only thankful to get something in her dry throat. Something.

Slowly, as she drank, bits and pieces of this and that flitted back into her mind. Slowly she was being pulled from her dream state. She could feel the rain again, hear it beating against the road, smell it, and that familiar scent of spice; cinnamon. Aiden was there. She could smell him.

Becca recalled it all now. The woman in the road, the vampire from the party. The car crash. The attack. Aiden; his fangs. The metallic salty taste registered in her mouth, and sapphire eyes snapped open. In a matter of mere seconds, Becca had broken away from Aiden, standing, stumbling on a healing but injured leg away and backwards and landing on her butt in the road.

She wiped at her mouth and chin desperately with the sleeves of her long sleeved shirt, covered in washed out blood. She was a vampire now! Oh God, she'd been bitten and now she was drinking blood! She'd become a vampire! Becca brought her hands shakily up to look at her palms. She didn't feel like a vampire. She felt like herself. Her aches and pains weren't as bad, but other than that, she really felt the same.

Becca reached up and poked at her teeth. Shouldn't she have fangs or something? All of her panic had happened in mere seconds. When she remembered that she wasn't alone, sapphire eyes searched urgently for the vampire who'd attacked her. Was she still around? Had Aiden run her off?

Aiden. She searched for him, too. Nervous when her eyes found two sets of cold and lifeless looking eyes staring back at her.

((Hope this made some sense. I'm watching Rio, lol it's super distracting. ))
