You know what you want. You know the color you want, you know what you want it to do. The only problem is that there are no fewer than three dozen products all promising to be exactly what you want, and you don't have time or money to try them all out.
So here's a place where you can post what sort of thing you're looking for, and others can give you recommendations of stuff that fits your criteria!
So, I'll start!
I need a good black liquid eyeliner. I need it to apply well (not gloopy or doing that thing where it goes on half-sheer), and I need it to not smudge easily. I have screwy eyelashes that are always twisting inwards and poking me in the eye, so I've got to fiddle with my eyes a few times per day and I need for my eyeliner to not end up on my eyebrows and cheeks for that. I understand that it will smudge if I'm directly rubbing it, but I don't want a huge mess from just putting my fingers near it. Just hard to smudge. Being water-proof is a big plus, too. And finally, I need for it to not break the bank. If it has a good shelf life (so sick of eyeliners turning to crap after a few months) and you swear up and down it's amazing, I'm willing to pay as much as $15, though less is obviously better. I prefer stuff that can be bought in a standard drug store, but if I have to go to a makeup store or a website like Mary Kay (I'm already in love with their mascara), so be it. Help?

I don't wear eyeliner at all, but this something that I believe is trustworthy.
Smart Liner
It's $14. It's not waterproof but it last 24 hours. It has a lot of good reviews and an interesting design for left or right handed people. I thought it was interesting looking.
Stila Stay all day Waterproof liquid eye liner
This is $20. It's expensive but I'd call it relatively a better price which are $30+. It's Stila, and Stila has relatively good eyeliners and I like their make up. I'm only following the 4.5/5 stars though.
Sephora is generally above any drugstore deal. If you rather stay in the drugstore area, you might want to spend on an eyeshadow primer which would help the eyeliner stay on all day or atleast 12 hours.
Also about your eyelashes, (this may or may not help) if you dampen your fingers with water and than hold your eyelashes in places of where you want them to point or stay and hold them for a bit, it will generally fix them.

Cherry, did you ever try out Almay liquid liner?
It fades a bit throughout the day, but it's still the best liquid liner that I've ever used. It's easy to put on, smooth, cheap, doesn't smudge as long as you don't try to pile on a ton at once and it has a nice thick applicator.

Knerd: - I did just go back and look at that recommendation for it that you gave me a while back before posting this... but you said in that post that it smudged pretty easily, which put me off. So now I'm confused... does it smudge easily or not?
Flowery Pit - Wow, that's some unusual packaging! You know, they say it makes it easier to apply, but I'd think that being so bulky would only get in the way. Anyway, thanks for the recommendations!
Hummy - Vaseline on your eyelashes?!

Yes, Vaseline on eyelashes! Way underrated. The make-up lobby has managed to all but erase that lovely tip. Though a tiny bit of mascara on the ends of the lower eyelashes is a good addition to that routine as well.

I suppose it helps that I have long lashes that define my eyes, but I don't like to do that much with my eyes. the only eyeliner I use is just a dot at the very corner of each, in a brown that matches my lashes, and maybe a bit of white shadow along the lash line. Sometimes I trace the curve of the upper part of the socket with a pale brown shadow, but I don't like to add all over color. I prefer matte colors as well.

What exactly does applying vaseline to the eyelashes do?

Nah, it only tends to smear if you try to put too much on at once. It'll fade throughout the day, which is my one complaint about it, but you don't have to worry about the liner smudging once it's dry.

NM, I misread that. It just gives them some attention, in my mind.

Vaseline is meant to encourage thicker growth, isn't it?

L'oreal Superliner Black Vinyl: If you don't mind having to rub at your eyes to get it off or use an oil based eye makeup remover. This stuff does what it says and my testing includes a giant vertical water slide in which the eyeliner stayed intact completely even with water jet sprays in my face! I love the applicator too. I hope they still sell it..
I have really curly eyelashes naturally, so I usually go for gel eyeliner since it won't get everywhere when you apply it. Liquid eyeliner usually just gets all stuck in my eyelashes because they get in the way haha!

Well, I found myself at the drug store over the weekend needing some makeup for a costume ASAP. I peeped at the Almay liners and did find one promising to last 16 hours, not smudge, be waterproof, fight cancer, do my taxes, etc. so I went ahead and bought it. I've only worn it that one night so far, and it was not typical of my regular usage, so I can't yet say if it will live up my hopes and dreams yet. But I can say that I've purchased an eyeliner. Now here's the real trick... relearning how to get it to look nice when it's been so long since I've used a liquid. Lately I've been using a black eyeshadow with a damp angle brush, and that's just so much more forgiving.

Ha, finally I can use my words. I just use my fingers. I'm not really adept at make-up things though.

I learned this week that you can also put some vaseline and stick it up your nose if you've got painfully dry sinuses.
Laugh, but sinus moisturization is heavenly. I have a product specifically designed for it, but it doesn't last that long since it's just saline. Vaseline would last much longer, I'd imagine, and I've looked it up and it's safe.

Yeah, Vaseline has a lot of uses. Such a shame it's a fossil fuel thing. I'd like it a whole lot more if it didn't derive from oil.
I just apply it to my lashes with my fingertip. I wipe my finger in it, then blink my lash while wiping the finger up it. I don't put it on the lower lashes as it migrates onto the skin under my eye.
It's good on your lashes as it's basically moisturising them and keeping them supple, plus it makes them glossy.

Need new recs!
I got a free sample of Pond's BB Cream, and I actually really like it. I have combination skin and most foundations, even "light" ones tend to feel (and look) gross on me after a few hours due to my oiliness. But this stuff actually feels alright! It does have an SPF, though, which I can tell adds a bit of oiliness. So I'm looking for a super light BB Cream that doesn't have any sunscreen in it. I saw a couple during a cursory browse at the drugstore, but they're all $10/bottle, so I'd rather not make any blind purchases. Walgreens lets you return lightly used makeup, but still, don't wanna waste that time and effort unnecessarily. Recs please.

I REALLY want to try a BB Cushion, but I can't seem to find one that I can be certain doesn't have animal products in. It's complicated by the fact that only Korea seems to be making them at the moment.
