It's still got a cheezy romance fairytale, but it's not the main point of the movie.

Fair enough, fair enough. I've seen frozen in cinemas twice because one of my friends really loves it too. It's a bit of an obsession.

Ah, yeah I miss their 2D stuff as well (Lilo and stitch is my fave disney movie ever), but their 3D stuff is pretty good too. I'm hanging out for some more diverse looking princesses though, getting a little sick of big eyes, button noses and thin lips.

The style can vary pretty hard from anime to anime, but I think it will never become 3D, because of the differences in the way it is produced.

Actually I watched an anime called Freedom a while back and I did think there was 3D style animation used in that...and actually I enjoyed that particular anime more for the story rather than the animation style.

I hadn't heard of the Freedom anime before I saw the complete series DVD set available to borrow at the local library...one of the few gems I've found on the shelf.. most DVDs of anime/movies I borrow that I want to watch I'd usually have to place a hold on and wait for it to be available.

Where I live most if not all the local council libraries have DVDs and CDs to borrow, as well as books...and books includes manga and graphic novels too....it's a good source of free to borrow entertainment. I haven't been borrowing DVDs lately but I borrowed so many items last time that the receipt with the list of items checked out was about as long as a 2/3 of my height in length.
