I like that we have fun, and are not all
serious bisnizz! about everything. It's something that there's been disapproval of over the years but what can I say, we can't change who we are. The people who have said we're (or me, let's be honest) are unprofessional and childish etc. certainly seem to be in the minority.
Plus, those complaints have stemmed from very biased opinions at times. Let's use my method for dealing with trolls as an example. Which is to counter-troll to the max and encourage any of you guys who are around at the time to do the same. Sure that's not a very professional way to do things, but it's my way, and it works. The
professional way is not so affective. All we can do is keep on and on banning someone, so it's putting the power solely in the hands of the troll, they keep making new accounts and causing more trouble, all we can do is run about after them clearing up their mess.
I prefer to be pro-active, play them at their own game and go for a full-frontal attack, throw their trolling right back in their face. I like to give them marks out of 10 for effort and offer constructive critique on their methods. It's been proved to be an effective approach time and time again. These kids have no idea how to deal with it as they've never been mocked for trolling before, particularly not be staff. Some have come back and tried again after the first ban or two, but I don't think any have stuck it out beyond three bannings. They go back to Gaia and bitch to their friends about how we're all weirdos.
How did I get onto this? Oh yeah, trying to justify being me.
