I left Gaia... 5 years ago, at least; back when prices were still in the 200K range xD now they're in the billions O.o who the hell would stick around that site?! That's why Whimzica switched too, she even pulled her shop and a couple of people with her.

I finally gave up on Gaia last year. I hadn't been active in years anyway, and the inflation was just too nuts. I still log in sometimes to play with my inventory, but the since I spend so much time here, the avatars and items there just don't look right.

I don't even remember my login for Gaia xD though I noticed they have an app now, and my first thought was "does Mene have one?!" Sadly they don't :(

Mene's too small to have an app. :( I think we're entering a period of growth, though, so maybe one will be in the books soon. :)

I'm trying to spread Mene to my friends now :3 well, all the people I used to talk to online anyways. I would totally help code an app for them, I'll even do it for free!

Yeah. xD And if I am running low on time, it costs me less to try to buy the rest of the commons with gold. And if I run out of both event currency AND gold before the end of the event, it's not as disappointing to miss out on the little items. xD Won't hurt the pocket book by much to buy them after the event.

I am trying my hardest to be very active this event. I missed out on a LOT last event because I was doing art commissions instead of posting.

@CK It is a lot of fun, assuming your DM can handle all the out-of-the-ordinary actions xD he had to come up with roll difficulties and what not on the fly, so it takes someone who's creative and very good at balancing. I still think we got extremely lucky to find him, I've never had another DM who was as good as he was. I haven't played any tabletops aside from D&D, but I don't think any others would really hold my interest, and I really like the rule-set and gameplay of D&D.

Events are the best time to branch out on the site. :3 You'll meet a lot of people who you find fun to chat with and can find new threads to post in after the event. x3 And you can make a small mountain of gold that way. xD

My GMs I've met through the group are pretty great, across the board. xD Everyone is encouraged to try GMing (and the group is rather large - during the summer I could probably game every day, sometimes twice, and have at least one different person in each game). The GM I play with most often is extremely good. He does evil things with the most benign actions. It's really hard to be "clever" with him, because he can twist anything. xD (But, keeping in mind he mostly runs games that are supernatural horror, so it's expected in the genre. It bleeds through to other games, though. He kept remarking when I ran Golden Sky Stories how he had to behave because he knew it wasn't my intention to turn a game that's inspired by Miyazaki movies into a bloodbath... >_>; )

As for other games - it never hurts to branch out. Then you know best what you like. xD I personally prefer games lower on the mechanics and higher on the story. Less for me to keep track of. But mechanics in and of themselves are really great fun to manipulate. 8D I did enjoy Exalted and tricking things out as much as I could get away with.

Mine is seething in resentment, guarding the gold I store on him. He resents having been mugged so many times.

I don't think the app is in the NEAR near future, but definitely later on, I'm not the one to talk to about it. :P

I feel that mene is definitely a good place to make friends. :)

@CK We followed the mechanics as best we could, but the majority of the time our DM had to improvise so the mechanics themselves were irrelevant to us (the players). That's probably one of the things I liked best about it, we didn't have to worry about rules so long as it was logical, so we focused more on being clever and finding new ways to tackle obstacles (like turning a dragon's intestines into a small-impact explosive :P).

Our DM was insanely good at playing NPC's as well, without blending personalities together or having a strong undertone. It was kinda creepy though, seeing him play the holy priest one second and then switch to the greedy merchant before going absolutely insane as the dark elf assassin that decided the best time to attack someone was when they were taking a crap in the middle of town (no joke, crapping in the middle of the road in the middle of town; those are my friends >>).

He also took great pleasure in devising critical wins/fails, every time we rolled one we'd have to take a ten minute break cause we couldn't stop laughing. Good times.
