But yes I'm fine with a "Daywalker" type vampire. My favorite vampire type actually came from a game, Darkwatch, in that, the vamp you play only loses his main powers when he is exposed to sunlight, namely his regeneration but I cant remember what else he lost while exposed, either way it was risky to fight without your health returning if you weren't very good at the game lol.

I like to think weaker/younger vamps cant stand sunlight and burn in it, while older/stronger vamps develop that kind of resistance where they can function in the sun, their powers get suppressed, etc etc. Hybrids get the extra advantage of having whatever else they are mixed in, too. So they at least have their hybrid powers to fall back on.
