Do you live on, by, and for the internet?
Do you have unlimited time to access the internet and set your own timings? Do you take the internet for granted?
Or do you have limited time on the internet and have some hateful external authority setting insufficient time?
The latter is true for me atm. I've tried not having the internet define my day, tried to find other things I enjoy doing but thing is, EVERYTHING is on the damn net. Music, shows, friends, Mene, writing... And I'm afraid if I'm ever left to my own devices this is probably how I'll turn:

Most of my time is spent on my computer/online, I'll admit, but then my situation isn't exactly normal so, hmm, I'll not say I "don't count", but I'm in a different demographic, I suppose. So I'm not snared, I'm just online a lot because I don't work and can't be on my feet for too long, so it's basically something for me to do.

I used to be on the computer a lot but with the kids it's hard to do anything but to try to keep up with things. I also work at least 50 hours a week when I'm home so things get a bit crazy. I also don't have a computer at home any more since my husband's ex is crazy and destroyed it, to put a long story short. I do like the web for things like TV shows and to be social sometimes. Plus, it's easier to set a playlist and just let the kids watch what they want instead of putting videos/DVDs in the player.

You know, there's a lot of talk that goes on about people who are addicted to the internet especially teens.
But I haven't actually met anyone who's addicted to the internet.
People find it convenient, or a good distraction.
However I and a couple of my friends who are just a couple steps away from not being allowed access to it at all... we just love it! Reverse psychology I guess?

It's mainly parents who trot out that "kids are addicted to the internet" stuff though, isn't it. It's an easy excuse that they use because they don't know how to communicate with them. Kids just have the whole world at their fingertips for getting away from their parents now, and the parents are completely unequiped to deal with that. So they do what so many parents do, and start laying down the law, taking away their computer and other stupid parental mistakes, thus alienating the kids even further. -.-

I used to be controlled by the internet in my early years in high school. I was so addicted to Gaia it was insane. I've gradually learned to distance myself from it, but now that youtube, Netflix, Tumblr, and all that exists, I find myself always on the internet whether I'm at a computer or not.

But it's safe to say the internet no longer rules me. I don't go crazy if I don't have it. XD

Yeah, I really do miss my friends on the internet. I HAVE to talk to them everyday. Or I get no peace imagining how they'd have replied to me and I don't know what they've said.
LOL the internet is just a nicer world than the real one. Because you can pick and choose and make it however you want to

You're telling me. I don't think I'd be as despo to get on my parents' laptops if they just allowed me online for an hour or something.

I spend way more time on the internet than I ought to. I've wasted days simply because I couldn't pull myself away. The second the internet goes down or my computer needs to update, I'm suddenly the most productive person in the world! Sometimes I wonder how much more I'd have my life under control if I was better at self-control and got away from the internet more...

I had fun, sure... But there are so many things that needed doing that I could have done in that time. Easy things I could have done and still had a relaxing day.

Ah, but if there was no internet to distract you, you'd find other ways to not get things done because, human...the unusualness of no net is what enables you to jump into doing productive alternatives. I can guarantee that if that became the norm for you, you'd start finding a miriad ways to procrastinate, again, because, human

I typically don't get online until 6 or so at night, most of my time spent on the computer is checking emails or Google something or the other. Sometimes I'll jump into a couple of sites I'm more active at, sometimes I'll be here doing random things. I probably spend about four hours or so a night on the computer, if that much -- sometimes I'll spend more, sometimes I'll spend less, it all depends on what I can get done.

I also rarely get online earlier then 5:30 at night, typically because I really don't want to spend more then I need to online. If I am on earlier then 5 pm, it's to try and write something out.

Well, yeah, sure! I'd just read a book or doodle or something. My thought, though, wasn't "what if there was no internet?" It was "what if I had more self-control?" Like self control to get away from the internet or any other distraction and actually make myself useful.

But that's all just a thought experiment as god knows I'll never be like that.

I use the net as both entertainment and a job resource. I pretty much need it at this point. I'd say about crack addict level. XD

You're too hard on yourself, Cherry :) If human as a species were more efficient, we really would be the superior species, and the world wouldn't be in the mess that it is.

Asking me how much I need the Internet is like asking me how much I need human interaction. 'Cause that's what I'm doing most of the time. Chatting.

IRL, I'm an introvert and I live under a rock. I have a terrible time trying to meet people and staying in touch. Making conversation is hard. I appreciate silence. I'd rather be myself in everything I do unless I need help.

On the Internet, I'm a party girl no one can hold down. I have to be around people. I need excitement. I have to keep laughing and let the good times roll. Who needs serious? I go from "stayed at home to finish a book" to "broke something and had to be carried out by the cops; won't remember any of it tomorrow." You get the point. I'm, like, the most extroverted person you could find. Must. Talk to. PEOPLE! I AM A FREE-SPIRITED WILD CHILD AND YOU WILL NOT CONTAIN ME! /unnecessary siggie reference

The Internet IS my social life. This is where my friends are, and I like to have a ton of them. You bet I'm on the computer when I have nothing else to do. Just as someone might meet with their friends at a coffee shop when they're off from work.

On the other hand, I'll make it if I don't have Internet for several days. As long as there's nothing I want/have to do on there. I find that time away from screens is really good for my creativity levels. I'd totally recommend trying that if anybody reading this is artsy and doesn't use a computer.

How would I define my day? Wake up at seven AM eat my breakfast and be on my laptop doing home schooling by eight. Going all day with minimal breaks like going to the bathroom and eating lunch. When school is over at three I stay on just going to different websites. Watching anime, reading the news, listening to music till probably ten PM then I fall asleep and do it all over again tomorrow.

The internet is my life and I am ensnared pretty good. Actually, I probably wouldn't survive if I got out of my little entrapment. It doesn't help I'm an introvert with no social life whatsoever. Also, you are right the internet does have everything and that's why I stay on it all the time because it even has my school.

I think it comes and goes. When I was younger, it was easier to be online because I didn't have any obligations. These days, with school, with work, there just isn't time and I really don't have the energy to pull of an Amane amount of posts.

^^^ i agree with cyclonekira

I am supperrrrrrr attached to the internet. It's all I use and I would probably die without it ahaha
When I do have breaks from the internet, it's due to lack of need to visit, busy real life, no online friends/busy friends, and just general disinterest. But that only happened once or twice and it was a year or two at a time.

but now i have become one with internet
never going back
