Surely they haven't lowered the gold earning cap on games from 250 to 200.
If you're looking for a gold heap my size, you're gonna need to post in a lot more threads on the regular. In best conditions, I make 100 gold in just under an hour and toss up almost 2k by the time I go to bed. Sadly, we're rarely active enough for that. See ↓.
Event forums are great for posting. Halloween is coming. If you post a lot, you could earn a few thousand by the end. If you post a super, super lot, you, too, could make 100 gold within the hour.
What do I post about? I'm a humor poster. I may take something from a previous post and roll with that. If not that, my posts have something to do with what's going on around me IRL (or on another site) or something I just thought of, and no one can decipher it. They still may reply to say they are very confused and amused. If getting scolded for posting something off-topic is a worry for you, work on making it not a worry as long as you're in the Hangouts forum. The threads there are all open chat (unless one says in the title that it's private), and you can plop on in and say whatever you want. I do it just about every day. Event forums are open chat, too. Now, here, say? In General Discussion? You're not supposed to do that. Stay with topics related to the other posts.
I don't even know the rules on what counts as spam anymore. They've relaxed since I was taught them. I can tell you not to post the exact same message in several threads or make posts that are nothing but emoticons/emojis. I guess a good rule to set for yourself is to make sure your posts have some conversational value. Even "my cat is kneading my leg" can pass. Of course, random posts like that are best confined to Hangouts and the event forum.
I'm not one for serious talk or IRL matters unless I can present what I have to say humorously. Even if I'm in a bad mood, I'd rather make it sound funny and exaggerated than make a mopey post and get sympathy. If you like serious talk and you've got stuff goin' on with ya' spouse n' ya' keeds, trust me, you can find those people. And when they're here, they post FAST despite their posts' length. I don't talk to them much because I have no interest in their preferred topics. If that's your crowd, search and you shall find, and you shall see the gold coins roll in.
In short, more posts = more gold. Get posting. Find your people. Keep posting.
NOVEL POSTER NEVER DIES.
