Hello folks,

I'm looking to get back into roleplaying on a regular basis! I've been away from the roleplay scene for awhile, so I'm not sure how the kiddies are labeling themselves these days but here is what I can offer:

▶ Contribution to character and plot development
▶ Literate, fluff-free posts. Usually multiple paragraphs long
▶ Fandom based or original content
▶ Minimum once a week replies
▶ Various ages, genders, and sexualities of characters

I enjoy both fandom and original roleplays, so I've provided a few examples for each below... The lists are not exhaustive so feel free to inquire about specific fandoms or genres.

I'm always into fandom role pays when they're ones I am involved in. :)
I love Avengers so I'd be totally willing to have an Avengers RP with you!
I prefer playing canon characters, though.

Did you have anything in mind for an Avengers Roleplay?

*Hearts in my eyes* I prefer canon characters as well!

I don't have any plots in mind right at this moment, but I'm happy to brainstorm with you! Do you have any characters in particular you would like to play?? And is there any pairings you would like to include?? I'm fairly open!!

I'm caught up with all the avengers movies, and am familiar with a few comic-verse things! So we do have some flexibility in regards to that!

Well, I'm a big fan of playing Loki. I know a lot about him from Norse myths and the Marvel Universe. I've also played Loki in other roleplays. While I haven't had much practice with other characters, I can probably also dabble with Thor and Agent Hill.

Hmmmmm... As far as plots go, I can't really think of any off the top of my head.

Ahh! Loki is excellent. Hmm...

I have no problem playing as Tony and Pepper, and I even enjoy Bruce! Perhaps we could do something with Loki trying to mess with the Hulk again to cause some mischief? I head canon that Bruce spends a lot of time in the lab at Stark tower. >>;; Science bros!!

Hmm.

That could work. Maybe this is post Avengers and Loki comes back to earth for his scepter and is determined to wreak havoc for Bruce because he still can't forgive being pounded into the cement like that, and Tony steps in to protect his best bud.

Something like that sound alright? I like to think Loki needs purpose to do things, even if it's a silly reason, I still think he needs to have a reason for doing what he does. Maybe he escaped prison on Asgard and wants to hurt Thor by hurting his friends? I dunno. Haha.

That sounds good to me~! The science bros vs Loki - and Thor can perhaps come back to earth after he realizes that his brother is up to no good!

I'd be interested in the Expert x protege idea you have listed. Did you have anything more specific in mind for it? If not, I have a thought that might be interesting for it.

I just had a few general ideas.

I mostly think of music when I picture this particular scenario. Violin or Piano specifically.

Usually some kind of age gap; along with a more reclusive expert. But it would be fun to also play around with the flamboyant trickster type expert that no one expects to take teaching seriously.

A scholarship or contest is usually involved - with the protege unable to continue without financial assistance.

What were your thoughts???

Hmm like the idea of a trickster type and a scholarship. Maybe the teacher is also reluctant to teach.

I also thought if we went the art route, it would be really cool to set it during the Italian renessaince with a master and apprentice. I suppose it could also work with music. I like writing both.

Oh! I had usually pictured this kind of plot in a modern setting - but I actually adore the idea of it taking place during the Italian Renaissance.

Did you have a preference for the master or the apprentice? And do you have a preference for genders? Given the setting I'm picturing them both as males - due to the nature of the arts and who were considered masters at the time. It would make for an interesting dynamic to have a hidden romance due to the criminalization of 'sodomy' at the time. Though, both the MxF and FxF dynamics would be interesting as well, due to the status of women. (Maybe even a woman who cross dresses to be able to study music!!)

haha. Looks like we were thinking pretty well the same. I imagine a m/m or m/f plot. Normally I prefer m/m and it matches the times, but as you said, a female apprentice could be hiding as a male or be written off basically as many female painters had their words attributed to their husbands or father's name. I know a lot less about the music aspects of the time, but I know the arts world was still very much a man's game.

As for role, I honestly don't care. I could have a lot of fun either way or writing either gender. You?

I'm feeling the same - I could have fun in either role.

I have two ideas currently. A male expert; being scolded by his family for his failure to find a wife; and his aloof, narcissistic, mischievous nature. To appease his family he decides to take on an 'apprentice' to prove that he cares about more then himself; and to show some semblance of responsibility.

Secondly is a cross-dressing female protege. Grew up with the kind of family who really wanted a son - but ended up with 3 daughters. When her father passed - she began dressing as a man and took over the estate to keep it in the family. Now that her sisters are married off; she is seeking more.

So if either of those catch your fancy I can play them~!

Um, um, um....*picks blindly* I'd say I'm most interested in seeing you play the cross dressing gal idea. Then I can play a male master. I'm thinking the sort that's brilliant but rather lazy and not very adult-like in his personal life. They should be able to play off each other pretty well that way. So are you leaning toward music as our artistic expression or art?

I was thinking music - but I am 100% okay with painting. After thinking about it, I think it fits in well with my character.

And do you do character profiles? Or should we just introduce them throughout the posts? (Or both, really)

I'm kinda favoring painting or sculpture to be honest. I use music a lot, more so than art even though that's my area of study.

I'll make a character profile anyway so I'd prefer to post it. Age range? I figure at least early twenties for the apprentice and a decent gap with the master? Ten years ish?

I'm thinking 24 for my character; and 10 years seems good to me!
