THE EVIL SPIRIT IS SEEKING...

The EVIL SPIRIT has reduced the sanity of everyone's group by 2 points![/size]

Emilio

The Evil Spirit is gone. There is no sign of it when you step outside the laundry room. “Ok… This way. Lets see if we can make it back to the foyer.” Emilio whispers creeping slowly up the hallway. Turning down the next, you all can see you’re headed in the right direction. “The foyer!” wish all but shouts. “SHHH!!!” You all say at once, trying to quiet wish while being nearly as loud. Emilio cuts his hand through the air, looking back at you all with wide eyes. “You all are going to let the Evil Spirit know exactly where we are!” Everyone shuts up after that.
Stepping carefully out of the hallway, you all huddle in the shadows under the balcony above you. Pillars line the floor in front, creating archways that might have been appreciated had the circumstances been different. Shadami sees a flicker of light and grabs Emilio’s shoulder pointing off towards the other side of the foyer a shadow appears. “Hide behind the pillars everyone!” You all grab a pillar, somehow there is enough for everyone. The light from everyone's lanterns casts shadows of everyone on the ground and out into the foyer “Put your lanterns out!” Emilio hisses. Everyone stops moving and holds their breath.

Magnus

Everyone is shaken from the events in the Den. While not as bad as getting caught by the Evil Spirit, there is still something terrifying about a tv coming on all by itself. Magnus leads you all down the hall away from the screeching TV. A few moments later, everyone hears a loud POP! Miscreant74 jumps letting out a little “Eep!” And the tv noise ceases. “Ok, Misters and Misses. I think it’s time to head back to the foyer and see if we can’t meet up with the rest of our group.” Maguns leads off down the hall once more. Hoping he’s headed in the right direction, Magnus picks doors and halls at random, trying to head towards the center of the mansion. “Are you sure you know where you’re going Magnus?” Asks Divacita. Mangus says nothing though as he’s not really sure himself.
Carefully opening a narrow door at the back of a tight hallway, Magnus peeks out of the crack. "AHH!" He screams before clamping a hand over his mouth. There is someone out there! Carefully taking another look, Magnus realizes it's just his own reflection in the mirror. "Sorry everyone, I got scared of my own reflection..." Manus looks past the mirror. It’s the foyer! “We made it everyone!” Carefully Magnus let the door open all the way and steps out into what looks like an alcove behind the left side of the main stairwell. The lanterns behind cast ghostly shadows across the floor and walls of the foyer. Everyone presses into the space when a sharp noise makes Magnus freeze in his tracks. “Everyone get behind me” Magnus puts out his arms protectively, shuffling everyone behind him. “Hello..? Who’s there?” Magnus says in little more than a whisper.

Aimee

Aimee hurriedly climbs up a set of stairs outside the mansion and wrenches open the door at the top! Pushing aside a curtain covering the doorway, Aimee see’s that it’s a back entrance to the second story landing! “This way everyone!” Aimee stands aside as the rest of you pile in through the doorway cleverly hidden behind the drapery. Oaklight stumbles on the last step, lantern clattering down the steps. Behind them, the tool shed shrieks once more, shaking and rattling with the reverberation. “Comon!” Aimee grabs Oaklight and hauls them both though the door. Razor slams the door behind them before collapsing to the floor.
“I can’t believe we made it!” hummy says. Noise from down below in the foyer makes everyone freeze. Could the Evil Spirit have caught up to them that quickly?? Aimee silently beckons everyone to hide behind the railing. Whispers can be heard. Footsteps. Is the Evil Spirit? Ghosts? A faint “Hide behind the pillars is heard, the shuffling of feet closing following. Was that Emilio? Moments later, “Hello..? Who’s there?” Aimee holds her breath. That was definitely Magnus. Carefully turning to peek her head up over the railing, Aimee misses the urn right next to her. It tumbles over and smashes against the ground. Everyone flinches at the loud sound but are quickly distracted by all the gold coins inside! Everyone grabs some as Aimee peaks her head up over the railing. "You guys? Is that you?"

Magnus: Emilio?

Magnus: {Magnus rushes out from the alcove} It is you guys! I'm so glad we found you!
Emilio: {Emilio steps out from behind the pillars} Me too! What an awful night this has been
Aimee: {Carefully making her way downstairs} I've never been so afraid in my life! I just want get out of here and go back to town!
{You all follow suit and gather in the middle of the foyer with everyone else.}
Emilio: I know it was scary but there were some pretty cool parts! And we found a lot of cool things too!
{Everyone stops talking when they hear the shriek of the Evil Spirit once more!}
Magnus: Looks like we aren't done with this night just yet! Get to the front door!
{Magnus rushes for the front door, Emilio and Aimee in hot pursuit! Above on the second story landing, the Evil Spirit shrieks again! Several of you are so close to losing your sanity that you drop to the floor in a ball and start rocking back and forth}
Magnus: It's no good! It won't budge!
{The Evil Spirit shrieks again slowly making it's way down to the first floor}
Emilio: Let me try!
{Emilio cranks hard on the doorknob but nothing happens. It's shut up tight!}
Aimee: {pressing her back against the wall, Aimee watches the Evil Spirit advance on their group} It's getting closer you guys! Do something!!
{Magnus and Emilio start banging on the door, kicking and pulling, trying to get it to open. The widows are out of the question, glass shards rendering them impassible, and the ones that aren't broken are set solidly in their frames.}
Magnus: {Magnus picks up an old moth eaten umbrella and brandishes it before himself.} Get back! Stay away!
{Just then a thin ray of morning light shines in though a broken window striking the Evil Spirit. Where it the beam hits sizzles as though setting the Evil Spirit on fire!}
Emilio: Sunlight! Everyone! Pull off any curtains you can reach!
{Dust and light fill the Foyer, bright orange beams of morning sunlight reflect this way and that against all the mirrors in the room. The Evil Spirit is saturated in it, it's whole body sizzling! The Evil Spirit writhes and wails as the sunbeams melt of chunks of shadows from it's incorporeal form.}
Aimee: {Aimee jumps up and down in triumph} It's working! It's working!
{With a great wail, the Evil Spirit suddenly inflates like a balloon before..! POP! It's body burst into so much dust, disappearing before everyone's eyes before it even has a chance to settle to the ground.}
Aimee: {Aimee throws her arms around Emilio in a great big hug.} You were so brave!
Emilio: {Emilio blushes, turning bright red} T-thanks Aimee!
Magnus: {Magnus claps Emilio on the back.} Quick thinking Mr. Emilio! Nice job!
{The door swings open of it's own accord. Everyone is unsettled by it but no one says anything now that it's open.}
Magnus: Our search party was quite the disaster.
Emilio: Sorry Magnus. I didn't think my little prank would lead to so much trouble...
Magnus: That's ok Mr. Emilio, I don't think it was your fault. something tells me we would have gotten caught by the Evil Spirit one way or another in this mansion. I need to talk to Jeryck and see what's going on with Cecilia. Channah didn't give me much information. She just called to gossip, yelling that Cecilia was missing and... Something about a spaceship? *sigh* What a night. Lets head home everyone!
{It's a bit of a walk and you all are quite tired and worn out. But you make it back to town safely. As frightening as the night was, at least everyone made it out with some gold in their pockets and some interesting items. Not to mention a story to tell of that one night they were stuck in a mansion haunted by the Evil Spirit of old...}

I keep looking at the scores, and I'm having a hard time telling for sure how the 6th round points were counted. Is it instead of taking away the daily of 5, it takes away the 2 that was rolled? Was what ever we rolled for the 6th day would add on if it was over 2?

If that is the case, then my score should be 20, not 19. I was at 17 at the end of round 5, and I rolled a 5 for day 6. So if 2 is subtracted, then wouldn't 3 be added to my 17, to make 20?

Balls one of you noticed!!! >.< Basically what happened was... I put in "-2" in my spread sheet instead of "2" for everyone on day 6 for the evil spirit roll. So with my equation being, ("previous day" - "5" - "evil spirit roll" + "User Roll") = "final sanity total", that -2 turned into a +2 (because math... -1(-1)=1). so EVERYONE got a +2 to their roll for day 6 XD Since I didn't notice my error till after prizes were sent out, and since it was applied to everyone though, I opted not to tell you all since it was a little boo boo and didn't change the outcome of the results!

The moral of this story is, ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SPREADSHEET NUMBERS!

I see. So it was still -5, but then whatever we got after our roll and the -5, you added 2 onto it. So since I was at 17 and rolled a 5, that gave me 19. I see what you're saying. I had tried comparing other peoples scores and their end score, and wasn't sure what happened, so that explains it. Thank you.
