Okay, I've been rping for years, and many of my characters have developed quirks and odd habits. For example, Zeke, my werewolf Bard, takes his coffee with sugar, but only uses cream if it's too hot to drink without it. Chercher, who started off as a slave rp character, became a grammar nazi. Lucy always stresses about "doing" the holidays, getting worse in October, as she's a Wiccan.

Do most people build their characters with depth and odd quirks and habits, or am I too weird and attached to my characters?

She sneezes whenever she returns somewhere.
And she likes candy.
And is like a child, but can be very mature.

I've discovered that one of my characters has developed a near paralyzing fear of trauma to the chest (not unlike my own). I say "near paralyzing" because she'll generally react JUST in time to avoid being shot/stabbed/crushed/what-have-you...but she's probably have a LOT more time if she didn't freeze BEFORE. XD; She's the one I use most in dramatic stuff. She's a bit messed up in the head. Actually...all of my characters are. XD

My shapeshifting character is a huge fan of my least favorite fictional character ever made. Makes things quite awkward for everyone I know, being...I'm not exactly the only one who hates him. XD He also has this odd habit of looking around before saying ANYTHING, even if it's common knowledge.

My vampire character is in his 60s. He has this habit of rambling on about when he was a kid...he sounds like someone's grandfather, yet he looks 20. And he doesn't have kids, or grandkids, or anything like that, so I really have no idea where he started to sound like an old grandpa. XD

I have one character who PRETENDS she's all cold and emotionless...but she risks her ass for a friend almost every day, has a paralyzing fear of nearby explosions, and idolizes Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost In the Shell) to the extent that she took on her last name. Of all my characters, she is the one who scares me the most.

Another of my characters is...too nice for his own good. He doesn't get mad unless you hurt one of his friends or bring up one of three topics...but that's more normal. The thing is...if he worries about you too much, he can get quite...stalkerish. He sometimes scares me, too. XD

But the one with the most weird quirks is the one with the fear of trauma to the chest. I've had her around the longest, and...she is from a very unstable universe. XD She has been through 452 accidents (at least), including one which left her with one of her least favorite powers to ever exist, turned out to be the person one of her favorite fictional characters was based on (her soul is about 107 years old...and she was originally male...but she's now in a 21-year old female body...talk about awkward), she ended up DATING her fictional twin once when she was hyper-hormonal (like I said, VEEEERY unstable universe...she gets very angry if you ever bring that up...but in her [and my] defense, he was in disguise and she had no idea about ANYTHING at that time), she's died...um...*counts* 8 times now, and...you know, this is a lot less confusing/stupid than it sounds right now. XD Through all that...she kinda went crazy. Because you know you would too if you went through all that. And there's more that I still have not mentioned. XD

Her odd quirks?
She hates palm trees. If there are palm trees on one side of the street only, she WILL cross the street to avoid them.
She's afraid of clowns. And dolls. And the Burger King guy. Don't ask me WHERE any of that came from. XD
She likes acting like a little kid. Way too much for her own good. XD She CAN be serious when she wants to be...and she can even like it, but most of all, she likes acting like a little kid.
She is a balance freak. Everything on each side of ANYTHING has to be equal. Even her trash can is always filled evenly.
She cannot learn ANYTHING if she doesn't know how it works. Not because she doesn't want to...but because she just CAN'T. No matter how hard she tries. Magic is possible in her bizarre alternate universe, and she tried that...but she failed. Horribly. She just couldn't get it, because there was no scientific explanation.

If you're weird, then so am I. I always almost overdo it with the little quirks, to be honest. XD
