Tales of Melodies:: By Shaney
First and foremost, this is NOT a drabble thread. It is a thread composed of multiple short-stories based from SONGS.
I'm a music lover and a short story writer as well, so why not combine them into one? I will have a list of SONGS below, which will be the titles of my short stories. The songs will also be the basis of the story-line I will create for each story.
I will NOT start a new story unless the current one is FINISHED. For my progress, please see the next post.
You may NOT use ANY OF THESE STORIES, NOR ANY PART OF IT without permission! These are all original stories by myself, and I worked hard for these! Plagiarism of any kind will NOT be tolerated!

Falling (Keahiwai)
I wish he is here..Jane looks up in the sky, and starts doodling again. It's been her hobby to doodle things--especially the face of the person she adores the most.
His name is Caleb, he's a nice warm guy, who happens to be Jane's seat mate. Caleb is overall nice, not your typical guy, but sometimes gets to Jane's nerves. He likes to make fun of her quite often.
She has always liked him, since the first day of school. She never bothered to introduce herself to him, but she happened to be seated with him during the second quarter of the year, and again this third quarter. Jane knows she feels really deeply about Caleb, but she's too afraid he won't respond the way she always imagines. She fears rejection from him the most.
I wanna tell you baby
That you're the one Im thinking of
But your heart is still with her
And I think she's the one that you love
I only want you happy
Even if it's not with me
Maybe one day
You'll open up your eyes and you'll see
Jane started to walk towards her friend's house, namely Kia. Kia was one of her two best friends, Kia and Kyla. Kia's pretty close to Caleb as well. She has been Jane's usual confidant regarding her feelings for Caleb.
"Kia, I think I want to tell him how I feel.." Jane started. But Kia hurriedly dissed her idea of this.
"Do you not remember that he likes Gee-Ann? You know you'll only get hurt if you do that," her friend reminder her.
The chocolate brown-haired lass almost looked like she was about to cry. She responded, "Yes, I do remember. I never forget about that.. I guess he does love her. But what if I don't get another chance at this? You do know I really feel for him. I think I'm actually--" she was cut off by her friend once more.
"NOOO. I tell you, you must not. He's like, all evil. It would only boost his ego, anyway. It's not like he'd suddenly turn into the soft person he never will be."
Jane was startled, but she kept quiet. And then she finally uttered, "Yeah.. Maybe you're right. I guess if he'd be happy with her, there's nothing I can do but help. Although I'm not losing my hope. I know that maybe one day, he might realize..."
"HELP?! What.. you mean you're really considering helping her with Gee-Ann? Are you insane or what?" Kia blurted out.
"No, of course I'm not insane. But if he'd be happy, I guess that'd the best I can do," Jane forced a smile.
"Ah, I don't know with you," her friend shrugged.

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 2*
I think I'm falling
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yeah I think I'm falling
Baby I'm falling for you
Jane walks straight to her classroom. This is her daily dilemma. She doesn't want to be late, but somehow, she just is always late for her classes. She goes in and greets her teachers as usual, as she puts her bag into her desk. She notices something missing, a familiar person, in fact.
Then it hit her. Caleb wasn't around. At all. His bags weren't there, and there's no sign of him being at school today. The clock ticked, as Jane got usually bored of the usual daily routine. She only seemed to have been excited when break time came.
"Kylaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!" she shouted, while trying to hug her friend's arm.
"Whaaaaaaat?!" Kyla was laughing hard now. Jane seemed as if she had not seen Kyla in ages, when in fact they saw each other last Friday. It's only 3 days since.
"I've got loads to tell you. I went to Kia's, you know..And oh.. I don't know where to start!" the hazel-eyed girl blurted out.
Kyla raised an eyebrow, then smiled. "Slow down, slow down. There's still tomorrow and today, you know. Where's Kia, by the way?"
"Oh, let's go see her at the school farm, she says she'll be staying there," Jane remembered and led her other friend to the direction where Kia is supposed to be at.
"Kiaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" both of the lasses shouted towards their friend.
Kia didn't seem to notice at first, but finally said, "Oh hey there guys! What are you guys doing here?"
"Nothing, really. Except stalking you," said the green-eyed one.
"Oh stop kidding her, Kyla. We're here because it's break time already, if you don't know, miss," snapped Jane.
Kia seemed a little worried, but grinned at her friends while telling them, "Oh, yeah I know. But I'm just spending some time to think here. I don't want to get you guys worried."
"Come on. Us? Get worried? When did that even happen?" Kyla laughed as she teased Kia.
"No, Kyla. It's not you I'm worried about.. It's actually Jane."
"Uh-oh, is that trouble for me?" joked the one her friend spoke about.
"Nah, Jane. Be serious. Remember how we talked about Caleb yesterday?" Kia looked serious as she asked Jane.
Oh God, I hope nothing happened to him, Jane thought as she tried her best to stay calm and collected. "Yes, well.. what about him now?"
"He.. he's at the hospital. He was at a motor accident last night, and the doctors say he might be in a real bad stage. I have no news now."
Jane felt as if her feet were becoming jelly. Was she really hearing the truth? This can't be. It's quite hard, now that she has actually decided to try and help him so that he'd be happy--even if it would be painful for her. And then he's in the hospital all of a sudden?
"Oh God."

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 3*
What is this fuzzy feeling? It's getting all so funny, it even smells like the hospital.. Caleb thought as he woke up from his accident.
He opened his eyes when someone suddenly talked in a loud, familiar voice, "Oh my goodness! He's awake! Caleeeeeeeeeeb!"
Caleb instantly recognized the voice. Eeek, Kia. She's all so noisy sometimes. He gazed around the room, he finally saw that he was in a hospital. It's all coming back to me now.. The car accident from last night.. Caleb pondered when he suddenly saw two more familiar figures in the room. Kyla and Jane. Just the two people he mostly expected to be with Kia, but the same crowd he least expected to visit him. Probably because he knows Jane acts too weird around him. Caleb knows the reason for this--she's too annoyed to even talk to him. He constantly teased her one day that she got so mad at him. He never thought it would be that serious anyway, so he's kind of glad she's visiting him, anyway.
"So you've got company," he finally broke the silence.
"Yeah, mister assuming. We're just here to accompany Kia. What else do you think?" snapped Jane. She knows she means the exact opposite thing, because she was the one who suggested they go here today, but her friends know how her mechanism against Caleb works, anyway. She acts all snotty around him, probably because she hates that he might actually make a fool of her or find out she likes him.
"I know you secretly sort of liked me, anyway. It's not like you'd go here for nothing," he smirked.
Kyla laughed at this, but then said, "Nah, we're just here as classmates. You know Jane's a real nice person to everybody.. Except you.." and she laughed again at that.
"Not really. Okay, I'm here because I feel sorry for you. And I really want to make a peace offering thing now. What do you say we stop all this teasing between us and I'll help you with Gee-Ann?" Jane managed to say, even though it's starting to kill her slowly.
Caleb, on the other hand, smiled at this idea. Although he's quite sure of himself that it won't work. But still, he answered her, "Sure thing."

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 4*
Jane walks up to a not-so-familiar house. It's her first time here and actually wants to go back now, if not for the stupidest deal she's ever come up in her life.
Help him with Gee-ann for peace?! WHAT the? How stupid can I get? She slapped herself in the forehead. Now that she's thought about it, it really wasn't the smartest thing to do. For one, the teasing thing is the only interaction she really has with Caleb at school. And second, she likes Caleb, so why help her with Gee-ann?
"Is Caleb there, Ma'am?" she asked a woman who fairly looked like Caleb after ringing the doorbell. Jane supposed she would be his mom.
"Oh, yes he is here. I suppose you're Ms. Hoffman. He's expecting you. By the way, I am Mrs. Perez, Caleb's mom. I'll be around the house if you two would need anything, please follow me." the pretty woman around her mid-50's replied.
"Oh, sure thing. Thank you," Jane said in a very polite manner. She followed her into the house--it was nothing she imagined. It was a three-story house and it was extremely large. They walked inside the living room and there was Caleb.
"Son, your visitor is here. I'll be upstairs. Call the maids if you need service. If anything urgent arises, then you may call me."
"Yes mother. Thank you," Caleb smiled and thanked her mother as she went upstairs, leaving the two teen-agers alone.
Jane froze there for a second, maybe it was the shock that the house was so huge, or that Caleb could actually be that nice. Whichever it was, she never got the chance to think about it since Caleb broke her thinking time by telling her, "Do YOU want to get started or not? Don't just stand there."
"Oh, I'm sorry. What must we do anyway?" she asked him.
"Well, the list goes on, but first I'm asking you to do a few things. One, you must research about her in the internet, through her friends/family and any source you possibly could get. Second is to make a good data file on her, telling me everything I need to know about my future girl," Jane gulped upon hearing this one, but let him continue with, "And yeah, you should write love letters for her."
"Agreed."

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 5*
From the first time
You laid your lips on mine
It feels like the smile on my face
Will last till the end of time
Weeks passed and Jane almost did most things Caleb told her to. Stalk Gee-ann, do something for Gee-ann, whatever he could ask Jane that's Gee-ann related. Caleb got kind of amused on how Jane would go just for this deal, so he decided to push it on one day when they were both doing research at his room.
"Jane, I've been thinking. I think we've got to get this mission to get Gee-ann to another level. Research and letters and courting won't be the only things needed. As soon as she agrees to date me, I hope, then I should be prepared to do my perfect moves on her and--" he said, but was interrupted by Jane.
"Oh yeah yeah, good plans, whatever, so what do you want me to do?" she actually kind of lost much interest into Caleb, seeing how arrogant he is. But still wants to help him anyway. Of course, she's never actually lost how she feels for him, but those were quite hidden at the time, due to the fact that she was tired of thinking all day about Gee-ann, and nothing but Gee-ann.
"You'll be my practice doll. If it goes well on you, it will go well on her," he grinned while he said this.
What the?! His practice doll? This is too far.. Jane protested in her mind, but somehow, she agreed to Caleb's request anyway.
"Okay, just pretend you're Gee-ann, and I'll pretend we're on a date."
"Sure, so.. what now?"
Caleb held Jane's hand. Jane was surprised, at the very least. Her heart actually skipped a beat, she knows. She knows it would be hard to stand for her, especially since she likes Caleb a lot. It even got harder when he stared into her eyes and started talking.
"I've been meaning to tell you this. I guess I may have failed to show it, but I do really love you. I guess it wasn't that evident even from before, because I never showed you, but this time, I'm true. I love you," Caleb said these things, and to Jane's ears, they were almost true.
Yet, she managed to contain her feelings. Until, Caleb moved his face towards her, that is.
Oh my God. Oh my God. Am I dreaming? I think I'm dying soon. My God. she almost panted.
Then it happened. Caleb closed his eyes, and continued to move his face to Jane's. Jane, not having had her first kiss, didn't know what to do. So, she mimicked him and closed her eyes as well.
It felt as if she was in Heaven, Jane knows.
She never believed she would have her first kiss with Caleb.

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 6*
Caleb broke the kiss after two seconds. He was grinning at Jane when he muttered, "So you fell for it, huh?"
Jane, managing to gain her self composure, said, "Duh, Of course not. You told me to act LIKE Gee-ann. And I only did what I thought Gee-ann would do. Smart-ass."
Yeah, even though I feel the exact opposite way. Jane thought as she said those words to Caleb.
"Aww, shucks. That wasn't your first kiss, was it?" laughed Caleb.
"O-of course..NOT!" Jane stammered and panicked. She hurriedly left him and went for the door, then shouted, "Whatever, see you next time!"
Oh God. What just happened? I had my first kiss? and all of a sudden I'm feeling all weird about him? Just great. Jane thought while riding a cab back home. Who would have expected this would happen?
But I'm not so sure
If you're the one that I should pursue
My mind tells me no
But my heart only says that it's you
Jane arrived home, and hurriedly locked herself into her room. What has gotten into her? She really feels all freaked out and weird about Caleb now. He is her first kiss, after all.
I guess I really shouldn't think about it so much.. But still... I like him a lot, I know. I even think it's deeper than that.. But I just know he likes somebody else, and I'm better off without him.. Is it really this hard to make decisions? I'd be tearing myself apart any second now, if I continue to let myself be blown away in his presence, Jane thought about this, quite strongly, when she felt a tear dropping from her eyes. She knows this problem isn't just a normal one. It's becoming deeper. And she knows she'd be having deeper problems if she continues seeing him day by day.
I think I'm falling
Maybe I'm falling for you
Yeah I think I'm falling
Baby I'm falling for you

Falling (Keahiwai) *Part 7*
Jane knows, for all good reasons, that what she did was the best option. She asked her mom to have her home-schooled for the rest of the year, and maybe Transfer her to another school the following year.
She mostly stayed at home for a few weeks, and never answered telephone calls from Kia or Kyla. She just wasn't prepared to face the world yet. In fact, she never actually went out unless it was for a very good reason, and avoided seeing Caleb at all costs. She knew this would hurt her badly.
Only time will tell
The mystery has yet to unfold
Who's gonna feel love's warmth
And the other left in the cold
I know this was a pretty good decision, knowing that I'd rather not go for him, and just let time tell. It's best like this, so I'd avoid all the pain I'll get from seeing him with another girl.
Her trail of thoughts were broken by her mom's voice.
"Jane. I need to talk to you," her mom said.
"Yes mom? What is it?" she asked her mother.
"It's the spring festival right now, and you've never missed it once. You haven't gone out for months, so I guess this would be the best time for you to socialize. Go to the festival for your poor old mom?" her mom pleaded.
"Mom.. I really just can't.. You know the case here," she started explaining.
"Please? I promise this will be the last time I'll ask you to go out," her mother asked once more.
"Oh..okay then mother. I won't probably enjoy, anyway. But I'll go for you. I'll just fix myself," and with that, Jane knew it was one of the days she fears--seeing him with her. And Jane knows that is the one thing that would ultimately break her heart.
