Droning, eternal droning... How... frustrating!

Ezri finished the 'work' and simply leaned back, reading her book, the one she'd been given. Just touching the cover made her feelwarm and fuzzy. Was it because of Luke? Or because it was a new book, one she hadn't had a chance to lose herself with yet...

Finally the bell rang for lunch. Well, lunch for everyone else. Ezri... Ezri simply had other plans.

As she hurried from class, she moved down the halls to the library(that was her first place to find the location of) The room was rather secluded, and perhaps distant from the rest of the building. What could be expected..it was a boy's school... She shrugged as she thought about it however. She stopped at a vending machine and bought a water, and as she walked down the hall she pulled a lollipop out of her bag, and she entered the library.

She pulled one of the comfortable bags and pulled one into a corner and settled into it, merely a shadow in the corner.

-LUNCH (45 minutes)-

Tess looked up surprised, The class sure went fast. Which is odd because Study hall is usally dull and boreing, seeming never ending.
"Well, here." She said placing the pencil on his desk."Thanks, im Tess by the way." She hurried to gather her stuff and leave. She wasnt sure why she gave him her name, just out of politness she supposed.

((Gah! Sorry I've been away. As I explained in another roleplay, my dog was injured and its been crazy because of that on top of busy weeks with school events. So my character...fell asleep and is late, or is staying at the dorms because she doesn't feel well today. That's it! I shall join in once I read everything and get caught up. Sorry about not being on.))

Luke slowly lifted up part of his sleeping mask so he could see. His eye gazed over at the clock after he heard the bell. 'Wow that was fast...' He thought to himself as he pulled the rest of the mask off his face. He rolled it up gently and placed it in the inside pocket of his jacket. He then noticed the pencil that was placed back on his desk, without another thought he picked it up and placed it back behind his ear.

He stood from his chair and ran his hand through his long black hair as he thought for a moment. "Tess? Was that the girls name?" He shook his head a little brushing the thought from his mind. "I'm hungry, I think I'll go out for lunch" He stated as he started to head for the class room door.

He wasted very little time escaping from the room and heading for the school's main doors. He didn't bother heading back to his dorm to change, no one ever said anything to him anyway; So it was pointless to go change and then have to change back in forty-five minutes.

He smiled as he opened the door and left campus. He made it to the corner of the school and paused to see what was around for food. He wasn't exactly sure what he wanted just yet. Then it hit him, you could probably see the light-bulb go off above his head. Luke then vanished from sight very quickly. Since he was a fourth year student he knew his way around the whole surrounding area and he knew plenty of shortcuts.

Luke was only away from campus for a short while with a bag in hand. It looked like he had bought more then enough food for just himself. Once he re-entered the school he looked around thinking to himself for a moment just before he started to walk off towards a room. He stopped just in front of the Library, then opened the door. He glanced around the room and noticed Ezri in the corner, sitting quietly.

He took a sandwich from the bag and held it in his other hand. Then walked over to her, stood behind her quietly placed the bag in front of her face. "It isn't much, just a sub from the corner deli. I knew you'd avoid the cafe' so I thought I'd bring you some food" He smiled and waited for her to take the bag with the other sandwich.

Charllote shrugged and wrapped her arms around herself, "Apparently some building codes weren't followed." She said "I didn't care to listen much, I was just pissed I'd be going to a new school my senior year." She said with a bit of a laugh. She was curious about the kind of memories he meant but she didn't ask because he did say they were bad.

Her stomach rumbled a little as they approached the place he had mentioned. She wondered what time it was and as the stepped inside the resteraunt she looked for a clock. They had a little under forty-five minutes to eat. She sighed and leaned against the wall as they waited to be seated.

"Eh yeah, that must stink." Shawn said. "If I had to switch schools in my senior year I'd kill someone." A woman came over and motiond them over to a table, He fallowd her and pulled out a chair for Charlotte.

So many blinks! Suddenly, a bag was in front of her face, fresh scents curling off through the thin material. She had a good idea of who it was even before she tipped her head back to look at him, a smile and a bit of pink over her cheeks.

"Y-Yes, I do tend to... all but skip meals I suppose.." She glanced over at her drink and scooted over in the speciaous beanbag for him. "Have a seat?"

After all, he'd brought food for her, clearly going to trouble as this food wasn't school quality. Too different, too unique.

"You left campus didn't you.."

Yet, she didn't sound annoyed, almsot flattered actually..

Luke walked over to a nearby table for a moment, setting his sandwich down he then began to remove his uniform jacket. He placed it on the back of a chair, grabbed his food and then walked back over to Ezri. He looked down at her for a moment before he lowered himself down to her level and planted his rear in the beanbag."Thanks" was all he said after he took a seat next to her.

He wasted very little time ripping open the paper that was so neatly folded around every curve of the sub-like sandwich. The scents quickly revealed what was artfully placed between two pieces of white bread. Warm roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham, smoked bacon, melted Swiss cheese followed by the sweet smell of a honey french sauce.

Luke's mouth felt like it was watering as he looked at the sub in his hands. He was so hungry, even after eating so much at breakfast. It had to take all the self control he had in his body to keep him from diving face first into his lunch, he casually looked back at Ezri to respond to her question. "Yes, I did leave campus. It's strange, I've been doing it since my Junior year and no one ever really says anything." He chuckled a little as he thought about it some more. "Come to think of it, I don't even get stopped in the places I go to. Ya' know because all the stores around here know to look for our uniforms and report us. Well, none of them ever report me" He smiled for a moment. "I could be conceded and say that I'm special, but I'm not sure that's the case"

After he finished speaking he looked back at the warm sub in his hands and could no longer resist the sweet smelling allure of the food and began to eat his lunch.

As she looked in the bag, she pulled out a sandwhich wrapped similarly to his and gently unwrapped it, smiling a little to herself, if a little pink from the sheer novelty of all of this. She blinked a little bit as she took the first tender bite. Nervous? Perhaps. Not used to eating while she wasn't reading? Yes, that for sure.

"Perhaps thay do not know of the rule? Or they think it foolish..." Still she didn't stop nibbling on the 'illgotten' gains. roast beef and turkey slices blended together perfectly in her mouth.thetast of honey mustard tang between that, and the crisp taste of lettuce was almsot as refreshing as the light flavor of the white bread itself. Tomatos added a little bit of juice, and the swiss and provolone cheese gave a sophisticated undertone to the whole thing.

She almsot purred contently, instead a simple "Mmm" escaped. Simply, but very pleasant. As she giulped it down she spoke softly. "I really should eat more.." she gave a little laugh as she wriggled deeper into the beanbag.

Luke ate quickly, as was his nature. He finished off the last delicious bite just in time to respond to what Ezri has said. He smiled as he balled up the paper that wrapped the now eaten sub. "Every store owner in approximately a five mile radius of this school know the rule. They know the uniform all too well, because many of the owners have students attending this school." He paused, pulling himself up from the beanbag chair. He dropped the balled up wrapper into the empty bag that Ezri had taken her sandwich from.

"I guess the owners just got used to me being off campus at certain times during the day. I only leave campus for breakfast and lunch, and then once I have my food I'm headed back to school." He walked over to the same table as before and picked his jacket up from the chair and slipped it on. "Perhaps the owners see no reason to cause trouble for me when I'm in and out in no time flat. It could also be because I'm an upper class-men."

She gave a smile. "I suppose that's true. Let me be, I've only been at this school for..well, not very long.." She too finished off the sandwhich, though it took her a lot longer compared to him.

"I...don't think I've ever broken a school rule in my life actually.."

Whoa, could that be true? Yes. Ezri was a goodie, goodie, an angel among rebels, a teacher's ideal studen.t Bright, never lt,e obeyed every rule. Seriously, someone had to show that girl the wilder side of life.

That comment perhaps had been random, but true none the less. She smiled a little.

"Thank you."

Luke walked back over to Ezri but didn't sit back down in the beanbag. Instead he just stood there, then decided to lean himself against one of the walls. He still had his usual smile pleasantly plastered on his face. "So you've never broken a school rule before? Not one?" He stated as he then pointed over to a sign hanging by the library door that clearly said "No Food Or Drink Permitted In the Library"

He laughed a little as he then reached forward and picked up the bag that had the food in it and shook it slightly in front of her. "You did just eat in here didn't you?" He still smiled, then walked the bag over to the trash can that was oddly placed right below the sign he'd pointed out to her before. He then returned to the wall he was leaning on. "It's okay, I won't tell anyone"

Ezri blushed a little. "W-Well..any of the major ones... please, the librarians eat in here all the time!" Was that an excuse?

She sighed a little bit, nestling into the beanbag. "Still, Thank you...for everything. This... excellent peiece of literature included." She waved his gift lovingly in the air. "I could never express how much such a gift means to me..."

Luke couldn't help but laugh a little at her excuse, apparently she really had never broken a rule before. "But the Librarians all eat in their office's. Technically their office's aren't part of the library itself. So... They're allowed to eat there." He smiled trying to contain himself, he wanted to laugh so badly but he kept a straight face.

"As for that book, it was nothing. It was the very first book I read when I came to this school. I bought it at the old book store around the corner from here on my way into school for the very first time."

Ezri gave a smirk. "No, they eat right there at that counter with the scanner, I watch them.." She too was holding back the peals of laughter, so pleased at the moment.

She blinked a little, stroking the cover softly. "Luke, that hardly makes it nothing. It's special then becuase it still has a memory attached to it. I cannot think of a way to repay such a gift."

He really had pinned down exactly what to give her, but perhaps he didn't know exactly how deep it touched her.

Luke glanced over at the counter for a brief moment then looked back at Ezri. "Well that's news to me, I've been going to this school for four years and I've never seen them eat their lunch anywhere but in their office's" He paused, looking back at the counter and then to the offices for a second. "Unless the Librarians you see eating at the counter are the ones from your school. If that was the case then they have no where else to eat because there are not many offices"

He adjusted his jacket and buttoned up two of the buttons just before looking down at Ezri once again. "That book I gave you doesn't have a memory attached to it anymore, your busy making a new one for it right now" He stated pointing at the book she held tightly in her hands. "And as for repayment, you owe me nothing. It was a kind gesture what I did and nothing more then that. Besides you can not repay a gift now can you?" He finished with a pleasant smile.

She gave a shrug. "I'm not sure.." A tiny laugh before she got distracted again by the book in her hands.

"Whether or not it's a new memory being attached there is a point that remains- you had no reason to give me a gift, yet you opted to give me a present, one that I value deeply. Very deeply." books were to be treasures after all. "I cannot not repay such a valuable gift..." Did she jsut use a double negative? She blushed a little. "sorry about that..."

Luke just smiled at her, this time intentionally smiling at her, instead of his usual goofy smile. "Ya' know that book isn't really all that valuable. It's maybe worth fifteen dollars with the state of disrepair it's in." He laughed a little, hoping she'd catch on to his humor. He knew the book was worth more then any amount of money in the world. The book itself was probably one of the original copies that were signed by the author just before they were put on the stands for people to purchase. How he managed to stumble across it in that corner book store was beyond him.


The usual annoying school bell sounds loudly through the halls and into all of the class rooms signifying the change of classes.

Luke let out a heavy sigh once he heard the bell. "Well Ezri, it looks like our time together has come to an abrupt end. Maybe we can do this again tomorrow?" He pulled himself up from the wall and started to walk towards the door to the Library. Once he reached it he looked back at Ezri, still smiling. "Until then, I'm off to my dorm. Seniors have the right to skip the last half of class, at least that's how it was before you girls came"

((Yeah, well my character's stuck in the past, man. ;o))

Charlotte sat down in her chair and smiled at Shawn, "I don't mind so much because it's just the classes I really don't want to take, but I still haven't figured out your school." She said as she opened her menu and instantly knew what she wanted. She closed her menu and placed it in front of her, waiting patiently to see if Shawn was ready.

When he attempted the humor to lower the value of his gift, she gave a laugh. She knew books well enough to discredit that. Before she had a chance to anything more than laugh and smile, the bell rang and she gave it a glare then stood following him to the door.

"Oh..." His question made her blush a little bi,t but she gave him a nod. "Of course..Though, you really shouldn't skip class.." Oh, if only she could be that carefree to allow herself to do that.skip class?

Luke looked at her once more with a warm smile. "I guess then, I will see you here tomorrow" With that he had stepped outside of the door. He glanced up and down the halls briefly; The halls were nearly empty now, most students had already returned to class. He smiled and then started to walk towards his dorm.

He walked for a little distance before he stopped in front of a door, marked 71. He reached for the door knob and opened the door. He looked around the room and walked over to his bed and sat down on it; Then let himself fall backwards as he rested on the bed.

Shawn took the seat across from her and glanced at his menu he knew what he wanted, it was the same thing that he orderd each time. "Yeah we tend to have some crappy classes. I tend to hate them all except Creative Writing. Its the only class I get to do what I acctually want." He glanced at her to see he waiting for him. As soon as he placed his menu down infront of him the waitress was over asking for drinks and food selections.
"Orange chicken and Pinapple shrimp with a ice tea for me and for Charlotte..." he waited for her to order with a smile.

"Can I get pork fried rice, please?" She asked, sweetly and laughed, turing her attention back to Shawn "I took all the good classes my earlier years in high school, now I'm stuck with 'easy-a' dull classes. But that's okay, less time I'll be spending in the classroom." She said with another laugh and leaned back in her chair a little.
