Has anyone heard of it? It's a really good and short anime about a war between seven magicians and their sevants. They fight over the Holy Grail, which grants the winner a wish. There's a good combination of drama and fighting, but the ending was so sudden and sad.
For anyone who has watched it:
1) Who's you favorite servant?
2) Who's you favorite magi?
3) What are your opinions on the ending of the anime overall?
4) Have you heard of Fate Zero?

I liked it but I felt that it dragged a lot. I stopped watching it near the end and had to almost force myself to finish the last two episodes

Extremely well done series, especially considering that it is based entirely on a series of h-games with varying storylines, character relationships and endings.

The anime is actually based on one storyline while the manga (which is coming soon from Tokyopop) is going to follow a different story arch.

My favorite servants have to be Archer and Saber. Sterotypical I know, but the other ones tend to annoy me. Rin is totally my favorite non-servant character. She's a total tsundere character, but she has a softer side that clearly wants to help Shirou.

I haven't actually seen the ending, but I know what happens. At this point I can only assume that the way it ends was the most fitting for the situation.

It felt like something was missing in my opinion. It was a decent series, but I stopped part way through since it started getting a tad tedious, but then started watching again about 2 or 3 weeks later and finished.

My favorite likely would be Archer, and that whatshisname with the Japanese sword. Archer because of the fight scene with Beserker, the other guy because of the fight scene with Saber.

Dunno about the masters though. None of them did I really like. Okay. I take that back. The little girl with Berserker would be my favorite. She's just plain awesome/slightly insane. :D

@Jenn_heart a lot of the dragging for me is that they tried to fit too much in and didn't do it in a way that was interesting.

Oh my favourite servant was Magician (I think or Sorcerer which ever one was Circe in the past life)

Are you perhaps thinking of Caster? She was Medea in her past life, Circe was related to her.

Personally I think they did a pretty good job fitting things in. They were basing the anime off a couple very complex game scenarios so they had a lot to work with.

I kinda felt like something was missing too, although I still liked it. Rider was my favourite servant <3 And Ilya for non-servants :3

I have not had the chance to really watch it. But the art seems beautiful and totally worth the watch. The story line seems pretty fantastic to me as well.
If I could recommend you an anime it would be Basilisk.

That would go against the main point of the series though! By the end of the series, both Saber and Shirou know that they CAN'T be together. Saber has been trying to running from her life and her destiny. And by the end she knows that this is true and Shirou knows that too. So she HAS to go back to face what was meant to be.

Having it end with the "happily ever after" invalidates the whole meaning behind the series.
