Not me. Dx

But I thought it should be critiqued. I have a friend, and I offered to draw a picture for her, so she asked me to draw Miku Hatsune. [Just search Miku Hatsune if you don't know. . .] So I drew her. It took so long, but I was super happy, since it was really good.

Anyways, I was doing the lineart for it when I suddenly messed it up! I inked her bewbs wrong. So yeah. D:

I was so pissed off, I didn't want to draw another Miku Hatsune ever again. D: But I did the next day. Since I was mad, I didn't draw it too detailed, and fast at that. Her hands, especially the left one is fugged up, and I didn't bother making her right leg more....well...closer in, so that it looks...proper or whatever. This is the pencil sketch, so sorry some parts are kinda.....well faded. Here is Miku Hatsune II.

http://tinyurl.com/4ol6cy

Some stuff I noticed on my own:

- Yeah, her legs are fugged up. Kinda wierd.
- The right leg should be closer to her left leg, more....crossed looking.
- Both her hands are horrible. Especially the left hand.
- The leek was drawn horribly! xD It look more of a leak when I colored it. :D
- Forgot to add the collar bones. -_- Sorry! D:
- Forgot to add wrinkles on the arm sleeve things. D<<<
- FORGOT THE FRICKIN EYEBROWS. D: How dumb. -_-
- Shoes are not...really....well...shoe-looking. Especially the left one. :D
- Right pigtail is longer than the left. :D But I fixed that with the lineart and coloring part. :D
- It might just be me...but I think the right eye is kinda lower.
- The leek isn't straight on the bottom part! xD
- Opinion: Her skirt is short! :D [Well, duh. xD]
- At that: The skirt is the wrong type. I only had one chance to look at how Miku looked like...and I couldn't use the internet, so it was from memory. D: Sorry.

Please, only constructive criticism. =]
You can redline if you want and are super nice. :DDDDDDDDDD

And.....there is NO way I am uploading the colored version. :D

I posted art before...that I did in like February or something. I said there that I'm 13 and have been drawing for a year and a half, and some people said I'm still at the beginning stages. :D I pretty much am, so yeah. Dx

I've got to go soon, but you helped me out, so I'll redline for ya later. <3
Pissed off speed drawings rock. I've learned so much just by scribbling out angry monsters in frustration.

No problem. Later!

Edit: Ummm... There's some issue with the file, it doesn't want to save. I'll have to use screen caps I guess.

Here you are! Hope it's not too drastic. I decided to use a green and a purple because red looks so scary. ^^
It was all green at first, but the forearms didn't show up. I only marked the skeleton on the legs, because I'm not very familiar with the anime style of distortion in legs.

It's kind of hard to see, but from what I can see, I think that the hip to knee should be longer and the knee down should be shorter and the left hand is facing the wrong direction

I assumed the leg length to be a style thing.

It can be.
Basically in manga/anime, anything goes.

Her legs could be 2 pixels tall, and everyone would assume it's just the style of the artist.

Yeah, in the style of anime, the legs......well.....in many styles the legs tend to be long.

Amiiu:

Huh? The left hand is facing the wrong direction? Do you mean it should be palm-up...? Or the thumb should be on the top? I don't really think so....but okay. ^^;

Penny:

OO: Thanks so much. <333 Especially for the hands. I knew the right hand didn't look right, and everytime I tried to fix it, it didn't work. ;_; Thanks so much for the red...err-purple and green lining. =] I like it like that. xD I'll try again. =]

EDIT: So wait, it's not that bad, is it? D: Or is it really bad? Dx It's sad though, because well, no one [not even my closest friends. ;_;] considers me an artist. But....the only other two people that are artists is someone who draws graffitti and someone who does fashion designing....although she can't draw hands, feet, or faces. She just leaves them blank. But no one likes my drawings. ;_;

EDIT [2]: Oh yeah, for the distortion of the legs, that's fine. Sorry about that though. The majority of everything I read [which is next to none....because the series I read have like....200 chapters at minimum. ;_;] are all with people with long legs, and well, I just grew with that. D: Sorry. -_-;;;

EDIT [3]: I really, really like the mysterious blank corner thing on her right ponytail. :D

Some Random Randomness:

Yeah, that's true. I was reading the manga Skip Beat, and it actually showed the whole body, and the legs were.....well....let's just say it would take 3-4 torso, necks, and heads to fill how long the legs were.

No problem. It was good fun.
Hands are tough. :) It's only taken me... pretty much forever and a half to get a basic understanding of how to draw them properly.

1. I don't like anime at all, so I'm not a good judge of good or bad. I have a tendency to only see the bad in styles I don't like. ^^
I'm okay at figuring anatomy. Or at least objective and informed on it. You're honestly a long way from masterful at that. But you knew that, otherwise you wouldn't have asked for help.
As pithy as it sounds, the only person's opinion that matters is your own. I spent several years drawing creeped out surreal landscapes. And though the art teacher praised them (she was a nut job) most of my friends just looked at me funny. "Nice," they'd say.

Draw what you love. Draw what brings you joy.

Yus. Cheesy moment of the day complete. <3

2. No need to apologize to me. :) I can dig long legs. Long limbs make for expressive posture. I think skewed proportions are used in most every art. One artist I saw the other day had a thing for generally normally proportioned people with really big hands. That was different.

3. Wait what?

other people very often will say

Penny:

1. I like anime, but I'm not crazy about it. Especially huge eyes [although everytime I draw my eyes get bigger and bigger. >.>] the big busts with super skinny waists, and they all weigh 70 pounds. >.> Actually, I'm more for the stories, but somehow I ended up drawing it. So yeah. xD I love cheesy moments! =] xD

2. Yeah, that's true. Except in realism. =] At my old school we had art class and the teacher was supposed to teach us realism. But the thing is....she couldn't draw realism. It was more, I dunno. The eyes were big and shiney, yet not anime/toons. I dunno.

3. If you look at her right ponytail, there is a part missing. xD You had a window or something on top of it huh? xD

Haruko:

Thanks very much! ^^
I hope we both get better. xD

Big eyes freak me out. ^^
It shows when I draw, I'm constantly fighting the urge to make mine smaller and smaller.

I love that. How one "just ends up" drawing stuff. Happens to me muchly.

This is very true. Realism is generally my thing. But legs are my weak point right now. I consistently draw them too short. Which looks much weirder than too long. xD I label all my short-legged mistakes in my sketchbooks Mr. and Mrs. MidgetPants.

On zee art teacher. Yeah, I know what you mean. That weird look when a person has just learned how to make reflections in eyes, but might not know the rest of it. ^^
I don't think I've ever had a teacher that had any skills in realism. I've been really unlucky with public school art teachers. One was extremely bureaucratic, one was a recovering stoner, and one was just all around mean. They all liked me. None of them were any help.

Oh! I see now. No, I think I was just being lazy when I cropped the image. xD

I like it. I really don't see the issue. I wish I could draw bodies that well >_<
