Well, he's just so awesomely awesome. xD How can you help loving him? :drool:
Maybe that's another reason why The Queen of the Damned was so slow. It wasn't about Lestat, really. It was about everyone else. And their history and all that.
The Tale of the Body Thief is much more focused on Lestat.

That's quite a list XD
I started this challenge fresh, not counting any other book I've read this year, since I want to see how far I get XD
Right now I've only finished two in the past two weeks ._.

They can be....difficult to get through, but if you can handle reading them, they are good. At least in my view they are. There are 26 of them in the series, and many of them are stand alone, however, if you can find it (they are very difficult to find now) read Tarnsman first. That one will give you an idea on whether you will like them or not. And you will either hate them, or love them. I know people that live the lifestyle derived from them that cant stand the books, and others, such as myself, that can't get enough of them.
and if you can't find them, pm me....I may be able to send you a link to a site to read them online. (if not, I have most of them on my computer)

Whoop! I finished reading Pride and Prejudice last night! >w<!
I loved it! It started out pretty slow for me, though, but I can definitely see how it gets its famous rep. :3
I'll write a more detailed and better review-ish sort of thing later when it doesn't make me dizzy to type. ^^;;

I am near halfway done! Yeah!
I added some more books that I had read earlier this year...I just found them written down in a notebook, so I thought I should add them.
Francis Paul Wilson has some pretty awesome books. Just remembering them made me get on my library website and place 5 or 6 of his books on hold, as well as some of Tim Powers' books.

I don't recall if I mentioned this or not, but I finished A Clockwork Orange a few days ago.
Now I'm rereading Twilight. >.< I read the whole series in barely over 24 hours each, so I forgot some stuff. I retained the bulk of it, but not as much as I would have liked. So I'm reading them all again, but taking it a bit slower this time.
I also got "Journals" the other day. Kurt Cobain's journals, y'know. It's massive. I plan on slowly making my way through it while reading other things. Since it's not like it has a plot or something.

I'll make a list here in about 8 hours. I'm too lazy to look for it right now, but I have school and graduation practice to worry about XD
I think someone else mentioned Twilight, so I want to read that too XD
Also: I wasn't active in this thread for about a week, so I might have missed you mentioning Clockwork ^^;

A Clockwork Orange was excellent.
If you liked it, you might try reading either Catch-22 or One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
They all have a similar style, I think.

It's a very interesting book.
My friends and I made a bunch of Catch-22 rules in Geometry one day in high school because we got a liiiittle bored.

Tenten - Just saw your post. Yay, you read Pride and Prejudice! :D It's good, isn't it?
Oxygen plays the movie all the time. Keep a look out for it.
Skrae - I actually just got One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. ^^ And I'll be reading it pretty soon.
But I'll look into Catch-22. Thanks. ^^

It's about a pilot that no longer wants to fly missions, and attempts to plead insanity...which leads to the catch-22.
You should read it!

Quote:
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.
"That's some catch, that Catch-22," Yossarian observed.
"It's the best there is," Doc Daneeka agreed.
|
That describes the book as best as possible.
So if you're confused, I don't blame you. :XD
