...and started thinking about all the preferences people have for such a simple thing we do (just about) everyday. I mean we have a preference to hot water or cold, do we rush or take our time? What about soap, bar or liquid, wash cloth or loofah? Do you use the same routine everytime you shower, or do you like to switch it up?
So I guess I'm asking, what are your bathing preferences?
As for me, I take thirty minutes in to shower. I like the water as hot as I can stand it. I need shampoo, conditioner, face wash, liquid soap and a loofah. I do the same thing everytime in the shower, which I guess is why I daydream so much. Daydreaming is probably one of the reasons that I take so long.
So what about you?
Edit: OK I was taking a shower today and the power went off while I was in there. My bathroom has no windows so I had to hop out of the shower and open the door so I could see what the heck I was doing. I didn't want to cut myself while I was shaving my legs, and I'm not to fond of the dark anyway. My mom on the other hand, told me she showers in the dark every morning. I don't know how she does it.
So, new point, can you shower in the dark (maybe prefer showering in the dark) or do you need the lights on like me?

Unless Im at my dad's. 'Cause my brother uses all the hot water. So my showers are FREEZING.

I'm the same way when I shower, I sing sometimes, too. If there is a song in my head, which there usually is.

I usually have to get up early, so I get up long enough to make it to the bathroom and turn it on. I fall asleep in the tub for 30-45 minutes and have it pipin hot until i cant stand it, then i have to turn on the cold water. i routinely switch between the hot and cold water until my bath is done. i think its to block out other noises. even if im sleeping, it such a routine that i do the temp switching in my sleep.
i use shampoo and conditioner alot because my hair isnt brushable when it gets wet. i also sing and if im awake enough, i read my book in the tub.

Wow, quite a few singers.
I used to sing when I was younger, but I don't even think about it anymore. I always seem to have songs stuck in my head at the time though.
OMG Lt. Summers you fall asleep in the tub!? Isn't that dangerous? Well...I guess if you're still functioning in your sleep then you're safe...

I use a loofah, bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner and a shaver of course.
xDD
But I can only have four minute showers maximum as we use rainwater tanks for that kind of thing.
Especially since there's a water shortage here.
Longest shower I've ever had was fifteen minutes long when we went overseas to visit my relatives in London.
;3
I don't actually sing in the shower though; as it's right across the hall from my brother's rooms and they hate it when I sing. So I can't.

I like to take my time in the shower...On average about 15 minutes. And it has to be very, very warm, which becomes annoying when it's really hot outside as it has been just lately. No matter how warm it gets, a cold shower just doesn't feel the same.
I'll just stand there and let my mind walk about a bit. I never ever sing though. Not after i got caught once by my brother, mid embarrassing song when i was 11.
As for actually washing & that, i use Imperial Lather shower wash, which is very amusing to use, my kiwi shampoo and when the time calls for it, my shaving foam.
Afterwards i'll put coca butter on my legs to stop them drying out, as they tend to do.

What does a loofah do? I've never understood those. O_O
Anyway.
I use shampoo and soap. And a razor, of course.
I don't use conditioner... it makes my hair super greasy, no matter what I do. Even if I use a teeny tiny dab and rinse it out for five minutes solid, it makes it greasy! So I gave up.
And I have to do mine in the order I always do it in, or I forget things. If I try to wash myself before washing my hair, I end up forgetting to wash my hair...

I take 30 mins as well :3
I need my shampoo [already has conditioner in it], soap and my loofa :3
I turn the water to the hottest it can get too and just stand underneat the water, but I also brush my teeth after, so that's why it might take longer, well it could take longer because I play with my dog, yesh, they're my body guard! (:

I have eight to fifteen minute showers. I usually just use shampoo and conditioner for my hair and then something to wash my face. Sometimes when I'm not lazy I will use body wash and a loofah, but that'll rarely happen.

My showers are usually exactly half an hour long. I prefer it to be really warm, nearly "hot". Then, as my shower progresses, I start to turn the heat down a little bit because it gets hard to breath. But anyways, I wash my body first (washcloth), then shampoo my hair. After that, I condition my hair, shave (if I feel like it), and wash my face with apricot face scrub. Then I rinse the conditioner out of my hair and get out of the shower. Theoretically, that shouldn't take too long, since my sister does all the same stuff and her showers only take about fifteen minutes. I think a lot in the shower, though, so I tend to daze out while washing the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair.
Speaking of showers... I need to go take one right now.

What a funny topic.
I tend to daydream a lot when I'm showering too. As far as a routine, I wash my hair first, then my body(with a loofah) and then I use apricot scrub on my face.
I used to take thirty minutes plus then some when I took showers because of the whole daydreaming problem. Now I usually take only twenty minutes. If I feel especially grubby, I will scrub myself two times over, or even more than once a day.
@Valkyrie-I couldn't imagine only being able to take four minutes! The hot water is the only way to get all the kinks out of my muscles.

Well Lt. Summers I wasn't about to ask how you manage it, that would be somewhat creepy.
I also cannot believe Valkyrie's four minute showers. I would never be able to manage that. When I was younger we had a drought so my dad made us all take ten minute showers, that was hard enough. O.O

I take .. Like, 15-20 minutes. I cleanse my face, and put on soap .. :B
The rest of the time, I'm just singing. Hur hur hur .
When I take baths, I love for the water to be cold. ._. I'm not sure why.
When I take showers, the water doesn't really matter. Hot to cold. They're both fine. . :B

I can take anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes in the shower, depending on the day. (Usually it's about twenty minutes though) I also use a loofah and I have two different axe body washes that I switch off between. I usually like the water pretty warm, but not too hot. and more frequent as of late as I'm getting out of the shower I switch it back and forth between cold and hot to wake myself up.
ps. I don't like baths unless I've showered before or I'm going to shower afterwards. I honestly don't see the point of baths if you're trying to get clean.
nice thread topic btw.

I ALWAYS take my shower in order. And I prefer lukewarm instead of cold or hot. Because hot water makes me lightheaded, and cold water isn't that comfortable.
I always shampoo first, shave, wash out the shampoo, put conditioner in, and wash my body with a washcloth, then wash out the conditioner, and I'm done!
Then after I put on lotion and scrub my face a little bit.
Its a daily routine xD

For me, I usually just set the temperature on just warm.
I tend to daydream right when I hop in. So, I tend to switch my order of bathing products, absent minded. xD Usually I try to stay in order, though. ^^
Anyways.
My regular routine is: Body wash and loofa, shampoo, wash face and neck,
rinse out shampoo, put in conditioner, wash face again xD and lastly wash out conditioner. :]]
My average time in the shower is about 25-30 minutes. I have to spend another 30 minutes for my hair and clothes, though. x]

Well when I shower by myself I like the water almost too cold. Unless it's winter, then I want it luke warm.
I undress, look in the mirror, feel the water, step in. First I rinse my hair. Then I put shampoo in my hair. Rinse it out.
Get the sponge ready, turn the water off, put conditioner in my hair, then wash my body with liquid soap. Rinse off and step out.
lol.
It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes.

I usually take about twenty minutes in the shower, thirty if I have to shave. I use a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner since I cut my hair short, Bath and Body Works Blushing Cherry Blossom shower gel, my face wash, and a loofa.
I usually follow the same routine. I wash my hair first, the I rinse it, then I wash my face, then I shave (if I need to), then I wash my body, starting with my neck and working my way down. Then I rinse off, dry off, and get dressed. I don't usually bother with blow drying my hair unless I'm leaving soon and I know it won't be dry in time.
I do have a tendency to kind of zone out in the shower, especially if it's early. The only time I've ever sang in the shower was if the radio in the bathroom in my dorm at school was on and a song that I liked was playing. I also have a habit of showering at really odd times. I tend to shower at like one in the morning. It's a habit that carried over from living in a dorm. The later I showered the crowded the bathroom would, the less likely it was that there would be a fire drill, and I didn't have to worry about people flushing the toilet as often. ^^; I'm working on breaking that habit and showering at a more normal time of the day. ^^;

Soup in the shower? Oh! You meant soap. :P
Well, I take about 30 minutes (minimum) in the shower, and my essentials are face wash, shampoo, conditioner, wash cloth and soap (bar or liquid). My routines aren't always the same, but the one thing that is consistent is it takes me about 5 minutes to actually start the shower, and as time goes on, I like to turn up the heat. Oh, and I tend to stand there until I'm extremely bored or the hot water is gone.. Heh..

Well, when I am allowed to..
I can take up to an hour in the shower ( when I'm allowed too..).
I usually keep the water as hot as I can keep it without boiling xD
But usually I increase the heat slowly.
As for soup and such, I prefer liquid. Lavender to be exact.
I usually jut use my hands to wash my self bu ooccasionally I'll use a wash cloth or something.
I like to read/sleep in the shower too xD
....I've ruined so many books by reading them in the shower ._.

Umm the only thing that is the same from shower to shower is the setting on the head. I like the hard pulse. I use both bar and liquid. I use a wash cloth, or a pair of shower gloves. I change the temp from warm to cool, as I am showering. And I take fairly quick showers, except every so often I let myself treat myself, by taking a longer hotter shower.
