Long ago, when man was young, they asked the demons to help. At that time, being kind and loving, the Jeishi clan decided to take to the call. All would be shown, but with one catch; man must always respect demons. They shared this world, and they needed to continue to share it. Alas, things did not stay as peaceful as was hoped. As soon as man knew everything needed to survive, they started to shove demons away from the dimension they so loved. Because of this, a daemon was born of the hate. She was the child of the Jeishi clan leader and his lifepartner, a half-dragon, half-bat demon. The tell-tale signs she was a daemon, or one born of chaos, were the marks on her body. The clan shaman knew she had to be sealed away or the earth would surely perish, but the clan leader refused to lose his only child to prophecy. Because of his descision, man continued to prevail until the demons had no choice; she was sealed away at the age of six days in a mountain. Years later, the one known as the end was killed when the mountain she was sealed in was awoken as the strongest and most violent volcano on earth. Once she was proclaimed dead, Jiang, a young rebel, convinced the clan to send their leaders into exile. Once they were gone, he took the old leader's place and tried to repair what the end had caused.....

"A child will be born, one with great potential. The child will have a hard path, but it has no destiny. It can forge it's own path, but all ways will end in tragedy..."

A woman ran down the streets of Kyoto late at night, her side bleeding, with a newborn in her hands. The baby was covered in blood, and it was also obvious the woman had been fighting. She was on the verge of death and she needed to find a home for her baby, fast. She collapsed in front of a young couple and smiled. "Please...take my baby...please take care of her until she is ready to live on her own...she will bring you great joy..." As the young man took the child from her, her body faded into dust and drifted away, leaving a black wooden boken behind. The young girl picked it up and smiled at her husband.

"You know what this means, right? We don't have to hurt each other anymore. Now we have someone to show our love to." The two smiled and laughed softly as they walked away.

"That's true, Yoko. That means we can have our little disfunctional family after all."

"Get up, lazy b**ch!" Yoko kicked the young girl, now 17, in the face and off the bed.

"Why, did Dad finally kick the bucket?" The girl smiled. The girl was Obinaka Gyakusatsu, or Ovi as she liked to introduce herself. She had medium blond hair and green eyes and she loved to wear all black and scare the neighbor's children just by looking at them.

Hiro came in like a whirlwind. "What the f**k? I should kill you for that!" He started to punch, kick, and scrape at her, letting out the anger from the previous night at work. Finally, Yoko had to wrench him off of Ovi.

"We can't have her dead, you know."

"Ha! Like you would care, slut. You'd be happy if I was dead, I bet."

"Goddammit, Ovi! You knwo that's not true!" She kicked Ovi in the groin with her combat boots on.

"Gah! I blame you if I never have kids. I didn't feel anything Dad doled out, as usual." She got up and started to dress herself in the uniform she hated so much. "Well, I gotta head off to school. Don't become too sweet while I'm gone, ok?" She slammed the bedroom door, leaving her parents gaping. The last thing she heard as she walked out the door with her lunch was her father screaming down the stairs after her, as usual. She popped the toast that passed as breakfast into her mouth and laughed as her dad tried to keep up with her. Thank the gods for long legs and tons of energy!

Finally, she heard him give up. "Good timing, I'm almost at Kinch's house. Gods, can't wait 'til I'm 18 so I can move in with this dude." She knocked on the door she had stopped at and waited. Finally, a young girl with long, brown hair and large eyes to match opened the door. "Hey, Rosa! Is Kinch up yet?"

Rosa hugged Ovi and becconed her inside. "Yeah. Nii-san! Ovi-kun's here!" She passed Ovi a donut. "Eat, your toast is nothing."

Ovi smiled and ate it thankfully. With her moth full, she called out to her friend. "Remember, no mohawk today or they'll expel you!"

"Dammit! Good timing, too." A young boy of about 19 walked down the stairs and smiled at Ovi. He had cherry red hair and eyes a bit of a darker shade. He had on his black uniform and it was obvious he had removed many bodily piercings for school. "I hate these dumb ass rules. Ah, well. Grad's just a couple days away."

"Yeah, and my birthday, too. Now I won't have to stay at my place much longer." Ovi licked the glaze off of her fingers and wrenched her bag up. "We're gonna be late again if we dun hurry."

"Ah, I know. Who cares though?" Kinch winced as his little sister glared at him. "Ok, Rosa does, so let's go!"

"Have a good day, nii-san!"

"I will! See you later! Have fun and don't let that bully beat you up!"

Ovi sighed as they reached Sakura and Tatsume's house. Their mother waved and opened the door for the two. "They should be down in a bit."

"That's mine and you know it!" A piercing screech reached Ovi's sensitive ears, making her fall down in pain. "Sakura, give it back!"

"Now, you know Mom got me the blue one and you the red one as a joke since we wear the opposite colors." Sakura's always cool, calm tone now fluttered down upon Ovi, relieving the pain of her sister's angry shriek previously. "We'll be late if you do not hurry up."

Two girls soon came down the stairs, completely identical in looks except for their hair and eyes. Sakura, the calm and nearly emotionless girl, had straight, blonde hair all the way to her tailbone and deep blue eyes, the kind guys get lost in. Tatsume, on the other hand, had long, curly hair to her knees and the most emotionless eyes Ovi had ever seen. And Ovi would know, considering her own eyes looked like cataracts. Their eyes were the complete opposite of their personalities, though, and Ovi had noticed that from the start.

"Well..." Ovi pursed her lips. "Ready to go, Sisters Whee? We're gonna be late."

Sakura sighed. "Yes, let us be off."

"But what about breakfast?" Tatsume pouted.

"If you had gotten up on time, we wouldn't have this problem every day. Let us go, now."

"On that note..." Kinch walked for the door, bein silent up until this point for fear of what Tatsume might say about his hair.

"Kinch. You know that's against the rules." Sakura's always calm voice repeated what had been said earlier at his house.

"Yeah? I dun care anymore. This is my last day anyways."
