Has anyone seen a recent increase of dancing in animes? (ex. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya and Lucky Star.) Those two series are pretty popular. (especially in conventions.) It seems as though dancing is the new thing in animes. O_o? Has anyone else seen this change?
(I wonder if every other anime now will start to have a huge increase in dancing too. xD.)

I don't watch a lot of anime, but i have seen the dancing in the opening and ending themes of those anime. I just assumed that there was dancing in Lucky Star opening because it likes to make reference to other anime like the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya.
I'm curious though, what other animes are there a lot of dancing?

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya is a fad. I'm going to read the light novel one day but the anime is god awfully annoying.
Its anime and its dance will hopefully burn in the depths of heck one day... :twisted:
And somehow I can imagine the characters from Naruto doing the chicken dance.

The novel is a lot like the anime, only without all the episode switching around. So, if you didn't like one, you'll probably not like the other one, although apparently, Haruhi has better character development in the novel and manga.

I haven't watched anime in nearly a year now so I wouldn't know ;O
I mainly stick to manga.
But when I did watch anime, the dancing looked kind of weird.... ^^;;

I thought the dances were pretty hilarious.
I've checked both of the series out. (I don't think I'm that interested in either of them. haha.) Melancholy is a bit mixed up, but it's supposed to be like that and Lucky Star is just making fun of Otakus in general. xD. lol. Funny, but not the tip of the tongue for me.
I wonder if these shows would have great exposure if they didn't have these dancing opening and endings. hm.

The Haruhi dance is a form of ParaPara which is an sort of dance style that's fairly popular in Japan.

I like the dances from those two animes. xD They're very interesting with a catchy song~ :3 I haven't seen any other ones.. but I really hope that there will be more dancing animes in the future..
If you consider Kirarin Revolution as one, the girl has a song called Balalaika and she dances to it.. kind of. xDD It sucks though~ but I like the song. x3

I just started watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya. Not my favorite anime, but it's still pretty good. The dance got pretty old since you see it everywhere.
I'm probably gonna watch Lucky Star after I'm done with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya. I love the opening to Lucky Star. I hope I don't get sick of that too xD

Its funny that dancing Animes are increasing, as musicals seem to be popular in the US right now as well.
Coincidence? I think not!

I've seen lots of dancing clips in anime. It's sort of weird at first, or atleast for me, I was like no way! But then it becomes amusing. That might be why its so popular, it fascinates and amuses people. xDD I dunno...

Actually....I've never really watched a dancing anime ._.;; They're....kinda weird. Or at least, the ones like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. They're just not really to my taste. D:
I do like some dancing manga though, like Forbidden Dance.

@Rmarques
I meant the anime turned into a fad. The story dose seem interesting but the majority of times the light novel is better than the spin offs.
