This comic is Marvel, and if any of you have failed to check it out then I highly recommend it. I've read through the books, and the comics are quite accurate to the story. They tell things in a different order, but it's actually a more straight forward order than what was told in the books.

I was so excited when I first heard they were turning it into a comic but I STILL haven't gotten around to getting any yet. I keep meaning to but I'm always broke. :( I might try getting them for my birthday.

They are beautifully drawn, and yes, I was pleased with what little rearrangements were made in the comics. Even Stephen King says the stories are skewed and not as linear as his other books. He wrote it over an eight year period, on 8 X 14 paper, by hand. Things are bound to get a little confusing when you keep a manuscript around for that long.

But Dabel brothers does a phenomenal job with their adaptations. Laurell K. Hamilton's Guilty Pleasures and First Blood are both good if you like vampires and hot men, and for those more inclined to Fantasy, they've done George RR Martin's Hedge Knight, and Raymond E. Feist's Magician: Apprentice. All are four of my much loved favorites.

Why is there not reposes here!?

Dark tower~ <3333

There's another one now... I just... can't remember what it's called.

I have all of the first series, just haven't actually set aside free time to READ them all. > >

As cool as Roland is and all, I just... don't really need to read about an angsty fourteen year old xD

(But Anita Blake! <333)

I read it from my library, very cool. Not sure if I want to continue reading the series though.

I got the hardcover of this series (in collection) on a whim, since I had heard great things about Stephen King and his mighty magnum opus of The Dark Tower, but I've never gotten around to reading it (the novels that is). So I have to ask, would I be safe to read The Gunslinger Born before I delve into the novels, or should I let it ferment on my shelf a while?
