This thread is a discussion zone for those who wish to discuss paranormal pheneomenon, such as: ghosts, aliens/UFOs, near-death experiences, and the unexplainable. Some could call these events related to religion, so religion can also be discussed if it relates to the topic at hand, like near-death experiences.


Personally, I've always had a strange life... Filled with mysterious and unexplainable events. I used to live in a haunted house near Oregon. I eventually moved because I was scared and in need of a job (theres no businesses with jobs there). Also, I've had experiences relating to UFO-sightings and I've had 2near-death experiences. I might get into details if you ask...

I've had a couple paranormal experiences... But nothing that really scared me...

I love the paranormal. But I have never had any paranormal experiences. But the paranormal is one of the things I willingly study. And I love it. Aren't vampires and demons and such also considered paranormal?

technically yes Vampires and Demons ARE considered paranormal but demons are more so paranormal then "vampires" due to the fact "Vampires" are fictional they are not really considered paranormal ^^. if you are talking about Vampyres then yes they are paranormal ;P Vampires are fictional creations found in literature while Vampyres are uncommon but real :P if you want some info on Vampyres then you can check out "http://www.religioustolerance.org/vampire6.htm" its got some very good info on alot of stuff so its a good way to waste time lol

Well, I've had only a few paranormal experiences, but those are only ghosts. Yeah, some people say I have a third eye, but I'm not so sure. =\ I can't necessarily see ghosts, but I've seen some appear in my lifetime. Though even then that's not a lot. xD Like, one every couple of years? =O

And yikes, a haunted house? o_o Now THAT scares me. D: xDD

Thats pretty cool I've never had a paranormal experience but I have had a few near death experiences and the most recent was last year when I was in a cottage fire.. well I was in the cabin (it was attached to the main cottage) with a friend and he saw the fire burning the cottage and I was hurt at the time so I couldn't move, long story short he carried me out xD. my parents had been out shopping and so it had been just me and him. Im really lucky he was there or I would have been done >_<.

I don't know if that really counts but if anyone wants to comment or question feel free ^^

dunno everything was to torched to figure out what started it they classified it as an electrical fire though.

And hmm... strange? I have my first ghost experience that I think can be considered real strange. xDD It was way back in grade school (I think I was 10 years old or so) when I was at this stairs in school. We had a night activity, so we were all there real late (it was for stargazing, but we were in the middle of the city, so tough luck for us xDD). I was "exploring" alone (I lost my friends somewhere along the way) when I saw this little girl by the stairs. She was playing or something, and she was inviting me to come with her. I think she was bouncing up and down the steps or something. xD

I can't really remember much about what happened after that, to be honest. xD I think I just stood there all mesmerized and frozen till I heard my friends calling me. I turned around, and when I looked back, she was gone. =\

Well, there are a few ghosts in our school, so she must have been one of them. xD Never saw her again though. =\ Although, I've heard about her from other people who sometimes see her too. =P

And lol. xDD For some reason, I wasn't as freaked out when it happened. I didn't see how she could have been scary. Only now after a few years do I realize that it WAS scary. xDD

yep it all comes down to ones fiction ones a sort of way of life xD thats in simplest terms as far as I remember lol.

I already kinda knew that there were ones in fiction ones that are a way of life. I learned it a couple years ago in summer school when we were supposed to share with the class something that we know, and one girl got up and shared about real-life vampires.

But why are they spelled differently?

vampyre was when they screwed up translation from the original word used for vampire and so it was just adapted. the correct way to pronounce it is vam py re or somethingh along those lines

I dunno. Maybe to differentiate the two from one another? That's my guess anyway. xDD Maybe zacky has a better explanation than me. =P

Edit: zacky DOES have a better explanation. xD Wow, really? I learned another new thing today then. =P

Im not certain as to the correct pronunciation so you might want to look into it lol

Maybe I should finally delve into that vampyr book I have. It just a whole bunch of information I printed off about vampires. A friend had sent me the information they got off the internet, and I printed it all off. Before I reformatted it, it was like 64 pages long.

But anyway, maybe that will help me understand more.

EDIT: Oi, I always want to type vampyr. (As you can see above.) The reason is because I'm currently working on a story that delves into the vampire mythology and folklore (which I obviously need to learn more about.) and about how vampires came to be. It's more about beings similar to the Greek Gods. But anyway, the guy that became the first vampire was named Vampyr, thusly naming his descendants vampires.

I really do know more about vampires than it seems. Just not the real life vampyrs, or however they're spelt. (Spelled?)
