So...I was just talking to some friends of mine on Skype, and what with presidential election season and all, the idea of joke write-in votes came up.

Michelle: lol, some people are going to "joke vote" and instead of writing Obama or McCain or any other people from other parties, they want to write in Batman, Mickey Mouse, Bart Simpson, Totoro, Chuck Norris, and other characters from TV/movies/games instead.
Michelle: Of course, I read that those votes are thrown away, though. I seriously would've been tempted to write down Cloud Strife or Sephiroth or Zack or Aeris or L or Kakashi or Chuck Norris or whatever on the ballots.

Of course, I don't actually plan to joke vote...but I certainly think it's an amusing way to say "none of the above."

So, it made me wonder. Your REAL vote aside...if you were to cast a joke vote for ANYONE in the world -- living, dead, or fictional -- who would you vote for and why?

Me, given how it was brought up...I would probably vote for either Aerith, or perhaps Angeal (Crisis Core) - Aerith would certainly leave us better off as far as the environment is concerned, but Angeal could also do us some good with his honor obsession. When it comes right down to it, though, I'd probably pick Aerith, because there's too much risk of Angeal going crazy.

Or, maybe I would consider voting for one of my best friends. Sonikki for president! We'd all be doomed, but at least we'd likely go down laughing.

So what about you? Who would your joke vote go to?

...on a random note, like I said on dA, it's a shame that all our country's efforts would focus on trying to find the missing last act of LOVELESS if Genesis were elected. It would be really nice to have more of a focus on the arts, and I just KNOW Genesis would do that...sadly, knowing him, he'd put a bit TOO much focus in that area...as much as I'd like it.

Do have any idea how many man presidents there have been?...Quite a few...Then count the ones that were not men...WOW that was quick right?. Yeahhhh...not a good thing!!.

As some says...A house divided cannot stand. Our house is severally divided into the male sex and thus it falls more. We need the balance that undoing this sexism would bring to our society.

Yeah, that's part of the reason part of me wants to write in Aerith. We need someone to step up and prove a woman is just as capable of being a good president...if only Aerith were real, I just know she'd be great.

On a more serious note, I'm terrified of what will happen if our first female president ends up making an idiot of herself.

And back onto the sillier notes, I wonder how many people have written "Me" on their write-in ballots?

I would be tempted to write Walter. Jeff Dunham the ventriloquist has a puppet named Walter who actually said he was running for president, so that would be funny. Would I actually want him to be president? No way. He is a mean and snobby old man, but it would be fun.

I don't think I can think of any joke write-ins that would actually make good president, though I do like your idea of putting Aerith on the ballot. She'd probably be a good prez.

I would probably vote for...Jello!!!!!! [Jello is a nickname for a girl at our school] She is a great leader. But I honestly wouldn't wish that hellish job on anyone. Because if I like the person, I don't want them to have that horrible of a job, but if I don't like the person, I don't want them to be my leader.

Also I'm tired of the system favoring married people. What's wrong with a single president?. Actually they could devote more time to their job too.
