• For some reason, some ideas for animes and mangas really throw me off. First I encountered Yakitate!! Japan and thought, "What? An anime/manga series about making bread?" (I wound up loving that series xD)
  
  When I skimmed summaries of Nodame Cantabile, I yawned. A series about a guy wanting to be a conductor. Right. Thrilling. But I saw an episode of it and spent the whole time cracking up. One of the characters reminds me of my friend - and I won't say who so she won't kill me. 8D
  
  I'm in the process of watching the anime.
  Any fans of the manga or live drama? Do you recommend them?

I love Nodame! I thought it'd be boring as well, but for the most part, it's anything but :B

As for the manga, it's a good read. But up until the 5th volume(or some where around there)it's pretty much the same as the anime and live action~ The art is a bit simple but I also recommend it :3

I love Nodame!
I read it while I visited a library although they only have Vol 1&2 so after that I tried to read it off the net.

I watched the first 5 or so episodes of this series and loved it to pieces. I used to play in a band all during high school and love music so it's a good theme for me. The characters are also all very lively and unique. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to watch more than that.

I got the first 2 volumes of the manga recently and look forward to reading it as well!! I didn't know there was a live-action too! I'll have to try and find it.

XD We started watching this in anime club. Normally we wouldn't be able to keep on watching it, but we had enough music enthusists that we could. I love it!

I really loved the anime! But thought the manga was much messier drawn :[ I AM going to read it someday though xD I tend to avoid the live things (A)

I highly recommend the live action. You won't regret buying it (if you're going to, unless you're just borrowing from a friend haha).

I haven't read the manga and I don't like stories like these but the live series made me a fan. It's well made, the casting is great and Nodame's really funny.

I saw the anime first, then the drama :D Both are great, but I feel the latter is better simply because the orchestra and the actors are amazing @[email protected] Now all that's left is the manga~ ^^

I've seen the first two episodes once and have read a bit of manga, but people say, that Live Drama is better. Wonder if it's true *__*

Anyway, back to the topic~ I've heard of Nodame Cantabile numerous times. A lot of people say it's a very good anime/manga, but sometimes... I won't start watching/reading unless I read good summaries or reviews. xDD Therefore, I never started watching or reading it. ^^; I do like comedy, but I would like an anime more if there was romance in it. xDD Maybe I'll watch the drama, though. Sometimes those are more interesting. :lol:

Suppi: There's a little bit of romance in Nodame. Not in the traditional roses and poems sense, but there are definite relationships that underplay the whole anime and manga.

I saw that they are making a second season of the anime. I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT

I watched the live action drama recently and I absolutely loved it, lol. xD I didn't really like the manga (see my post way up there xD), probably because I can't really visualize the music in my head. But seeing it live helped solve that problem. :yes:

The drama is definitely better for people like me.

I watched the anime of Nodame Cantabile and loved it. It's my favorite now because it's hilarious, has romance, and amazing music. My favorite things. xD
I've watched some of the drama and it's awesome. I just haven't had time to finish it but I will.
I haven't read the manga. But I don't think I'd like it as much because I wouldn't be able to hear the music but it's probably cute.

I started watching it expecting to like the series, because I love anime like Yakitate Japan. As I expected, Nodame Cantabile is very, very funny and enjoyable!

I do love Nodame I was just kinda of skimming though the anime list and never heard of it and i was like why not since i do love music. the characters are funny and that is what really sold the show to me was the humor. Haven't read the manga but i does sound interesting to look at now. Got to love skimming and then finding a good and funny anime. :P
