Well, I seem to like mystery. Not anything with a horror element, but mystery and detective stuff. I wasn't really into that when I was younger but for some reason I really love it now, as long as it's in the form of manga!

I really enjoy Spiral, Blood Alone, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok (Matantei Loki), Tactics - those all seem to have a little bit of mystery and detective work, and they seem to be some of my favorites. :3 I really like smeo other genres as well...

I tend to lean on the shoujo side. Other than that, I read Shonen Jump series like Death Note.

I love stuff with fantasy or sci-fi elements to it. in fact, that's one of the things that got me completely hooked on anime and manga. reading it is fun and all, but if I want a quicker read a fantasy or sci-fi manga is great, and there's a lot of anime out there that focuses on that stuff. in fact, it's far easier to find fantasy anime than it is live action fantasy movies sometimes.

I also have a little thing for Maho Shojo titles and psychological seinen.

I really love shojo manga. I do not think I could properly function if I did not get my Shojo Beat every month. I'm just a big sucket for romantic and drama stories. :oops:

I like fantasy and action but lately those do not seem interesting unless there is some big romance plot right in the middle of it.

I also love Yaoi. I spend way to much time on the internet readin scanalations. ^.^;

  • I chose yuri on the poll, but I tend to treat stuff like romance as secondary to whatever else is going on. If the only plot is the romance, unless it's really unique or really funny I'll probably lose interest~ n wn;;

    My favourite genres are probably fantasy, comedy, Magical Girl and anything involving school life - I love anime like Lucky☆Star and Manabi Straight!

    One of my favourite manga recently is Loveless.

When im lookin to my bookcase then i would say that the most mangas i´ve got are magical girl mangas*like Sailor Moon,wedding peach ,tokyo mew mew and so on*,but that magical girl mangas are sometimes really different i mean once can be comedy with romance/love,other love/drama and anothers with comedy and adventure.

So thats lil bit difficult to say which genre i prefer...but i would sayin right from my view on my mangas ...its for the most part:romance,adventure,fantasy,crime,Sci-Fi,Mystery,Action coupled with a lot of comedy,sureley i like sometimes seriously mangas too but mostly funny stuff.
Even when im readin an hentai,yuri,yaoi,ecchi there msut be comedy in it too.

Comedy is first, though action or fantasy would be next I'm sure. It really just depends on the manga. I hardly buy them anymore, since I'm college and very poor.

There are many different anime genres out there. Mech, magical girl, harem, samurai, shoujo, and others. Which one is your favorite? I'm actually a pretty big fan of shoujo. I find that they often have more complex stories to them. Personally I hold a good story in very high regards.

I like all mangas/animes with that are shoujo and has romance, comedy, and school life. x3
But comedy and school life don't have to be part of the manga/anime.. I just like it more. xD
edit; Whoops, seems like this thread merged with another that I had already posted in. xD;

I do too. I find those romance stories with or without the presence of comedy or school life to be the stories that draw me in the most. As a matter of fact I just finished reading a slightly comedic manga by the name of Fall in Love Like a Comic

Neruibara: I merged your thread with the one that already existed for this discussion. :) Feel free to carry on in here.

And to answer the question:
I like a nice variety of genres, but I tend to be drawn to the more sparkly shoujo magical girl themes. Although I think that is a lot more evident in my manga collection than anything else. I think a lot of that choice has to do with the different in art styles.

I like comedy, shounen and seinen!

Alas, I'm quite picky about what I'm watching.
