I have a POD CD... But honestly? I don't think I've ever even listed to it yet... and I bought it years ago... *lol*
They have some good songs, though. :3 There's probably a few other bands that I listen to that are... but honestly... I don't pay much attention to stuff like that... Good music is good music... and that's all that matters. :3

I have heard of these bands and listened to most of them.
I honestly do not like most christian bands. They are far to preachy, and I've been to a chirstian concerts before, thanks to family while growing up insisting I had to go. And I hated the shows. It was lots of preaching, converting and prayer, very little show. i got super bored with it and unhappy to be there. I never liked the focus they put on you for not converting there.
Out of the christian bands, only a few of them are not preachy enough for me to listen too, even then I just do not like the music they make.

- Well I'm like rakwel except I'm agnostic... and honestly, of course my beliefs are going to get involved in my music interests, lol. I'm not going to listen to a band that's telling me that things that I believe are wrong. I listen to Green Day, I believe in the things they sing about, lol. I mean, anyone's allowed to listen to whatever pleases them, so if you like Christian rock, go right on ahead and listen to them. But as a rule, I don't tend to like it. The lyrics and the message are important to me with the music I listen to.

I love most of the bands you mentioned, and it gets me going during really hard times.
DC Talk was a really good band, but I don't know what happened to them.
Sonicflood is another I really miss.
Ten Sheckle Shirt is a bit on the mellower side, but still awesome. I love the song, 'Unashamed Love' by them, especially.
And although these aren't rock bands, but they're still good to listen to.
Natalie Grant, Steve Curtis Chapman, Shane&Shane(oh man amazing guitars), jaci velasquez, etc.

Many of u complained that these bands didnt have very many actually "christain" songs, but being a christain rock band means that u dont sing about bad things, not all God and Jesus.

Oh My Gawd. Christian rock is so funny. While I was driving from Idaho to California through the boonies I forgot to bring CDs so we even ended up listening the the AM radio. When We got to Winnamucca I found this rock station that was soo weird because I've never heard a rock station play songs that are all about love. I mean there are rock love songs but their never so "normal" there more about suffering for love. Then it happened. Some guy started ranting about how only 30% of christians actually believe christ was their savior and I relized it was a Christian station. I started laughing my ass off at how rediculous it was at the length christian rock bands try to emulate rock and hook you into their religion. It was like seeing a Sheep dressed in a Wolf's skin. So ridiculous. The worst part was that in Winnamucca there were only Christian or Country stations

My friend is really religious and she loves listening to Hillsong. I got stuck in a car with her once and she turned the radio to a Christian station. No offense, but I couldn't really stand it because they were all of the same subject. And I'm not sure but I think they played the same song twice. D:

I've heard of reliant K, kutless, switchfoot, Jars of Clay, and D.C talk....I don't listen to them that much but my older sister has switchfoot's CD on quite a bit.
I really like Casting Crowns, Barlow girl, and there's a lot more but I just can't think of them right now. ^^;
I really like Christian rock because there is some awesome music and the lyrics actually mean something. Lots of times if I listen to just a regular rock song I don't even know what is being said and if I really examine it.....it's not even worth being heard.
But seriously check Casting Crowns out---they're awesome!
I like Set me Free, Who am I, what if people prayed, and Voice of Truth a lot. :3

OK, seriously? I listen to Christian music all the time...
Switchfoot, and a Canadian band called Starfield are my absolute favourites... the latter made a new version of "How Great Thou Art" called "Great is the Lord" and I have seriously never heard a better hymn remake... it's amazing, and it lets you use the good old songs with new music, and it all sounds heavenly!
As for the thing about Christian rock being a bit dull and everything sounds the same? I quite agree, but there are also quite a few exceptions... P.O.D is one of them, and there's also this Christian Norwegian band that plays heavy metal and they're really good at it... (the reason this is my only example is because I am Norwegian...) I can't remember the name, tho... There are also quite a few Christian rappers and singing ladies out there.. And perhaps you've heard of Sixpence None the Richer? they're Christian... ^^

I know this was posted over a year ago, but I really feel the need to reply to this. I'm extremely open-minded and I'm not what you would call a "stereotypical" Christian, but I AM, nonetheless, Christian, and I respect others' opinions; especially about their faith. Who am I to criticize other peoples' beliefs?
Anyhow, onto you. You say it was "rediculous" >> *Ahem* that Christian rock bands try to "emulate rock and hook you into their religion". WHAT? They're obviously Christian ROCK bands, so yes, their songs are going to sound like ROCK. A lot of Christian rock I listen to can be interpreted in different ways; even more of it never even says "Jesus" or "God" or anything like that-- a lot of bands leave it for controversy. I'm going to use Skillet as an example, seeing as how I love everything about their music. Here are the lyrics to their song "Whispers in the Dark", which I have noticed is an extremely well-known song (at least where I am). http://www.metrolyrics.com/whispers-in-the-dark-lyrics-skillet.html
Now that had nothing to do with God, unless you're looking at it from a Christian point-of-view, which you obviously wouldn't be; whereas I would be.
Anyway, that wasn't the part that got me; it was the "like a sheep dressed in wolf's skin"... well, one, I'm not really sure if I understand that, and two, I don't see how you're so morally offended that Christians can use a genre of music you like. I mean, hell, it's pretty much a free country sort of ordeal.
I guess I'll just shut up, since no one's gonna read this anyway.

You have NO IDEA how much of a close-minded prick you are coming across as. I mean seriously, you come across a Christian Rock station and all you can do is laugh and talk about how it doesn't come across as being "normal"? =/
Refer to Ashlemo's post again, please.
And anyways, I'm not Christian in any way, but I do enjoy As Cities Burn, and Terminal. I love how I don't have to be religious in the slightest to enjoy this music. Lulzz.

Please calm down guys, everybody has their own views on certain subjects and shouldn't be flamed. I know how it can be seen as offensive, but I'm sure the poster's intent wasn't to offend any Christians/listeners. I would hate to have this thread locked because of this.

Switchfoot's alright. I listened to them a ton a few years ago.
They've got a nice sound.
I haven't listened to them since, though. My music tastes shifted.
