xD Which and what colors?

Not that I'm promising anything... But I am going to give a shot to making purple recolors of the Orchid set (the blouse and skirt and probably the hairpin and shoes to go along with it). So I might as well see if there's anything else I could release at the same time. ;) It'll all depend on if they can be recolored or if we have a million recolors of the items already as it is. :B

haha I didn't think you'd actually do it - but...the eye makeups....would be so cool in other colors...I like the gold/red/blue/purple/silver....but if we had teal and green and pink...it would open up so many more possibilites lol or some of the tattoos in different colors..

I think a purple recolor of the orchid set would be beautiful!

Orange boots. Any of them that are about knee-length, into orange (and not burnt orange like the plague doctor set or whatever, real orange, like foxxi colored items).

Also, I love the plaid jackets, and even if they weren't plaid anymore, recolors of those would be awesome

ALSO CK. Do you have transparency-making-magic-pixel-skills? Because those orange odyssey glasses would be so awesome if they were actually transparent, instead of just having those one eye style permanently pixelled into them. And then released in a zillion colors >3>;; (and the harem headdresses too... which look terrible on dark backgrounds now)

//also I would totally volunteer to recolor items but I'm told that's more work for the staff somehow :C

Felt slouch hat in grey, pretty please, miss CK? And any new colors for the valentina tops or the pueblo tunic would be fantastic; those are my favorite mene shirts. For the pueblo tunic, maybe in ivory/white chocolate/champagne (they're similar enough that it doesn't matter to me which it is) with black accents (where the red and green is currently). Or white like it is now, but with black accents. That would be absolutely lovely if it wasn't a trouble.

And maaaybe the mullet skirt () in white chocolate/ivory/champagne?

Er, I'm afraid that might have come across like a series of demands, not suggestions. That wasn't what I intended.

I know. They're coming in vogue IRL and lots of people have taken to calling them that. I forget the more proper term.

I meant the proper term for that style of skirt, not the menewsha item specifically. I checked, the items are just "oil black skirt," "teal skirt," etc., they don't really have a name.

Ah, I found it! High-low skirts is the term used. Here's a real one. Here they call it an "anomalous hemline skirt," but the site is a bit engrishy at times, so who knows if that's a term that's used or not. And here they're called waterfall skirts. So who the hell knows! Mullet skirts!

Mullet is way more of a Menewsha name than "anomalous hemline" xD

I love how some of the items are named. Edward Sparkles... *snicker*

I've been seeing those skirts in Forever 21, haha. But I've never seen anyone wearing one IRL--they're just collecting dust on the racks.

I've only seen people wear them on street fashion sites. I haven't seen anyone wear one in person either. But then, the people around where I like are none too fashionable, so they're not really a good indicator for trends.

I also love "Someone did not do the lawn" and "Brain Fart" xD

That would be a cool trivia. "Which item did this phrase come from?"

Attack of the Allergies has "I have shares in Kleenex," as well as some other gems. I do believe Jelly is to thank for most, if not all of these names.

I was hoping the new companions were going to get really hilarious names but they all seemed pretty tame :C

UGH I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING. The red-headed girl should have been called CK and the brunette could have been Jelly (leaving the last one for Juru )

Ever since junior high I've listened to a mix of songs in a variety of languages and genres, not just Japanese stuff. Most of it is English and Japanese though. I've still not gotten much better at picking up what the words mean. I tend to just listen to the sounds rather than try to understand the lyrics, so often I don't even know what they're saying in English songs.

Yeah... I've tried a few times to get back into it, by buying a random manga or something. I enjoy it for studying, but I'm just not as interested as I used to be.

I listen to some Russian music, but aside from a few words I picked up from the songs (from seeing a translation of the titles), I don't understand them at all. But if I start to get into a song, I'll look up a translation. I have to know what a song is about. It deepens my appreciation for the song, and often the artist as well. A few songs have been wrecked for me when I actually bother to listen to the lyrics, but that's not so common.

::runs off to catch up in the staff room::
Either way, we'll have to see how the application turnout is first. It could go either way and there could be a ton of applications for contestants and a ton for judges so I might have to say no to people and I might not. I'm not really sure. I would love to have an excess amount of people so that I know there's a legitimate anticipation or excitement about the contest. I lost the word that I was looking for mid-sentence so if that didn't make sense I'm sorry >>

In my opinion, judging is easier. I only participated as a contestant once before Donna quit hosting the contest and I took it over, but I think as far as pressure-wise, judging is definitely easier.

In my case a big portion involved studying ancient history.
The good thing about this class is that there aren't any exams or quizzes. It's all assignments and busywork so as long as everything gets done there's nothing to worry about when it comes to memorization.

And my teacher pushed back the deadline to tomorrow. I guess a lot of the students were saying that the prompt for the assignment wasn't clear enough or they all needed more time or something so she moved it to tomorrow night instead. So I'm just going to finish it tomorrow. I've got a good head start on the assignment for now, and probably could have finished it in time but now it's no biggy and I can check for any mistakes that I've made and have time to actually edit it in the morning so yeah.

So at my university I took nothing but classes for my major/minors. In order to fit everything in I had to take summer classes too, which is probably why I felt so burnt out by the end.

I mostly crammed since I can't remember names or dates for crap. XD I've never, ever been able to. As much as I like history, it is not the subject for me.
I've taken 18 credits two semesters in a row, and I'm taking 12 over summer, and 22 credits this fall. I like the challenge. Plus, I'm trying to get as much done as I can before I go to England for my study abroad in case they don't have a very wide range of classes to choose from. But I already told you that so.. yeah xP

That goes back to what I was saying earlier. I like to pick contestants from the applications that I feel will give the widest range of avatar styles. When two or more contestants have the same kind of avatar styles, you're guaranteed to have similar entries and I think it just makes the contest more fun when you're not trying to decide which of two similar avatars is better.

So when you get someone like CK, who has her own unique style, you get a unique interpretation of the challenge that someone like myself wouldn't think of.

When I participate as a contestant, I think of what it is I want to be able to do and what keeps me from being able to accomplish that.

When I participate as a judge, I get to look at what the contestants did as a whole and figure out what they might have been able to do with different items.

With my position as AA, I'd be mildly concerned that I'd be tempted to cheat to recolor an item I needed. >_>; I would make myself not do it, though, since it would be entirely unfair, even if I mentioned, "Hey you guys - I recolored the pants from the (X) shop for my avatar, in case you guys needed them for yours too." I didn't do that the last time I played with Project Mene, but I did semi-sort-of do it for an avatar contest during an event. I wanted to cosplay Batgirl, and since there was already a yellow mask for the Plague Doctor set, I recolored everything yellow so I could have the belt and boots in yellow for my cosplay. >_>;

::ramble::
See above. And no cheating missy. Though I might come up with some requests for you soon. I for sure want more orange items using the same color palette as the Sunny Summer Skirt. It's always either the foxxy or the beach orange, which are either too light or too dark. And now we have the burnt orange, which I love. We need more of that too. But preferably the Sunny Summer Skirt orange first.

And I probs have a list of items that I would love to see in other colors or incorporated into new shapes for new items. Like I said, I'll get back to you.

I feel like I was the one that did most of the bothering. Because I kept telling you I would start it up again and then time would pass and nothing would happen and then I'd tell you again and it would repeat again and again and again and now it's here. And that was a terrible run-on sentence >>

That's true pressure-wise, but I found that judging was not easy for me. I try to be pretty easy-going in my daily life, but when I'm put in the position to make a critical assessment of something, then I go into super nitpicky mode. I have trouble keeping a balance between the two extremes, so it's probably best if I stay away from casting judgment. XD

Ah... I can't say stupidly hard tests were fun or effective teaching tools for me, but I also felt like classes full of only busy-work were not really worth my time. Actually, reflecting back on it, there were several classes that I BSed a lot out of boredom/time crunch. When you start stacking on the busy work from a bunch of different classes, there's really no other way you can get through all of it without prioritizing and BSing some of it.

I definitely got a nitpicking mindset when I judged, but I was also always so afraid of hurting people's feelings. Sometimes I don't think why I gave a lower score was at all reflected in my comments for that reason.

re: the suggestions
Thank you. I'll have to look at them properly later. Right now, my eyes are crossing. I don't know if I'm going to submit to con plague or if I'm just tired because my day/night schedule is mixed up again. (It's mixed up in favor of normal human hours right now, but I like my vampire hours, dangit.)

re: Seiki bothering me
Bah.

No worries about that, honestly. There are a lot of things I start with the best of intentions. Then something swamps me and breaks my schedule and suddenly, I'm no longer doing what I'm supposed to. :B No stones in my hands cos I live in a glass house.
