 1.5/5? That's pretty crappy. I would have given it a 2/5 I think...

Yeah, it was really sloppily written, things jumped around far too much and there was no character development that didn't seem rushed or strange/unnecessary. I dunno. The battles were the best part. The writing/plot itself was awful. I never have seen the cartoon, so this is coming from a totally unbiased view. I thought it was going to be cool, but alas! Not so much.

Sizz, I've seen the whole series and I felt the same way. I'm glad I didn't buy that ticket. Some of the dialogue was just downright unbearable. The characters lack all of the charm from the series, which is why I think it did so well to begin with. The glossy voice-over explanations were pretty weak too. Ugh.

Also, share your diet tips with me plz? Grats on losing so much weight!

Yeah, it's not worth the money. Maybe rent it... XP The dialogue WAS horrible OMG. It was written for small children, obviously, who don't notice leaps and bounds from one bit of plot to another without any explanation whatsoever. And yes, those voice over explanations didn't really help all that much unfortunately.

Diet tips? Well, it's taken about 2 years, but overall, I've gotten rid of 120 lbs. And my keys to success: diet and excercise. When I go to the doctor and tell them this when they ask, they always seemed amazed that it was just diet and exercise. I also have a LOT of self-control and motivation. I was afraid for my health and well-being, so I really pushed myself to make massive changes in my life.

First off, I went on a modified diabetic diet -- so, low carb. I would have sugary treats every now and again, but nothing over 15 carbs. You can have an apple with a bit of peanut butter (sugar free, of course), a fudgecicle, etc. I tried not to eat more than 120 carbs in a day... Less is better. I mean, you need carbs to live and all, but they should really come from whole grains and veggies.

I did this diet for a long time, and had a lot of success with it. The first 90ish pounds were from that, along with exercising 5-6 days a week. Eventually I started treating myself a bit more often -- like, I'd go out and eat pizza every now and again, eat soft serve, etc.

I started going to the gym, and would do the eliptical machine for 30ish minutes, and then walk on the treadmill to cool down for 10 or so. I'd do the weight machines, and do core strengthening a couple of times a week. Nowadays, I do 45 mins on the eliptical machine and 15 minutes of biking... but I've been a slacker about my ab exercises and weights. I was doing pushups -- I had gotten up to 50+ in a row, but quit that. I just got lazy I guess.

In January, I was having problems with yeast (and if you've read my life issues thread about the IUD, you know what I'm talking about), so I went on the candida diet, which was wayyyy hardcore. (I basically can only eat meat, veggies and some whole grains, like brown rice and quinoa, and alternative flours -- coconut, garbanzo bean, etc. I use stevia to sweeten things, and I do eat quite a bit of fruit as well -- green apples, berries and cherries). I've lost about 30 pounds since January, which is amaaaaazing, considering it's only been 6 months. XP I can also have corn products (I didn't eat them for the first 4.5 months though) and potatoes.

And almonds. OMG I've LIVED on almonds. I buy them by the bag at Aldi and snack on them, and I eat almond butter on everything. It's great on these coconut flour biscuits I make. I need to have my cholesterol checked this year, just to make sure I'm not going too crazy with my almond eating. I also use only olive oil and real butter, so it'll be worth checking on. Last time I had my cholesterol checked, it was really high. O_O But I was also really fat and inactive, so it HAS to be better now. But high cholesterol runs in my family, so it's always good to get things checked out.

Anyways, the candida diet is a really healthy diet, and while I can go back to a normal diet now, I'm going to stick with it, because I think it's good for me. :D I have, however, now eaten pizza, ice cream and chocolate, and while they're fantastic, they're REALLY sweet to me now. I'm not used to it at all! Sugar is horrible for me, and I know it, so I won't get addicted to it again, but I certainly will eat it every now and again. XP I mostly missed chocolate.

wow, long post is long. Sorry! I'm all tl;dr sometimes.

I don't remember what yours looked like, and Sizzla hasn't added it to the front page yet. xD I like this current look of yours as well!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was still just playing around with mine and it got nom'd before I was finished. D:

I wonder if Sizz would let me change it to my current nom.. :ninja:

Yeah, but I like this one more.. plus, this is one is the final version of it. :3

It just doesn't look as complete without the headdress since there's really not that much black at the top to balance things out. :/

I'll have to look up that diet.

I've been on a diabetic diet for four weeks now (woohoo!) but whenever I visit family it goes out the window and I eat and drink a ton of stuff I shouldn't...

I also stopped exercising like I should be, but now I'm at least on a regular sleep schedule (during the summer when I have no work or school? wtf?), so I think I'll be hitting the gym again soon.

I never got any strength training though. My meeting with my nutritionist a couple of months ago ran over time so she didn't get to that part. She just told me to go for half an hour five days a week and do something to get my heart rate up just to start off. I think I might start doing a bit longer after I get back into the swing of things. And I need to fix my bike, the chain is all wonky so I can't ride it around town like I want to.

Ari, your changes are minor enough. Upload it for me and I'll change your avatar on the front page.

@Keyori:

Woo! You go girl! It's okay to slip up every now and again. Just make sure you do better the next day! :D What's important is to work through that, and work on your willpower. You don't have to be perfect all the time, for sure. The diet itself should start helping you lose weight.

I found joining the gym to be motivational, since I'm paying money for it every month... May as well use it, right? :D And I make sure to go either right after I wake up (on weekends) or right after work (I go directly from the office), so there are no excuses and I don't have time to get on the couch and get lazy. XP

You can just try out the weight machines at your gym, and you'll feel what each one does for you. I'd go with low weight, high repetitions when you just start out. Like, do curls with 5 pound dumbbells. That'll be a good start for your biceps. Also, pushups are an excellent upper body workout. Start by doing girly pushups, then you can eventually graduate to real ones, depending on your current arm strength.

Eroy started with the Couch to 5k running program (Google it! XP), and now she's running 5 miles at a time, so that'd be good to do if you want to learn to run. I keep saying I'll do it, but I really like reading on the eliptical machine every day, and I can't run and read. It just doesn't work out. XP

 Dressing my avatar in red, white and blue is about as patriotic as I get. It's raining here, so I didn't bother going to try to see fireworks.

Here's the tinypic version:

And that sounds like an awesome running program. I should check it out. >w<
Maybe it'd actually help me out with getting to like running and doing it more often..

I remembered it, cause lately I've been enthralled in anthems and the Canadian and American ones are the only ones I like where I know all the lyrics. XD <3

@Sizz: It's raining there?! I wish it were raining here :gonk:

I wanna be able to sleep tonight! xD

And... my gym membership is free, it comes out of student funds. I had the most fun on the stationary bike, because it has virtual tracks you can ride (it'll adjust the resistance for "going up hills" and stuff), and games you can play on it. I find the elliptical kindof awkward to use, maybe I'm just used to smaller strides? I've heard it's one of the best to use though, since it's low-impact and gets your whole body moving. I might try that couch to... running program, since my end goal is to be able to run anyway. I'm just in no shape to run at all until I get my muscles strong enough that I'm not in pain from my patellofemural dysfunction Dx

Stupid kneecaps! :illgetu:

Mmm.. I've known the entire Canadian one since I was a little kid since I am Canadian. <3
And recently I just made myself learn the US anthem since the moment I got infatuated in anthems. >w<

I also just LOVE the Russian anthem for the way it sounds so majestic and regal.
And Spain's ain't bad either. >w<

I like the Russian anthem for the same reason <3 And I may not be the most patriotic person in my country, but the Ecuadorian Anthem is the only song I ever sing in public :)
