I will have to post pictures soon, but I was feeling adventurous and rebellious so I combed out my curly hair while it was dry and it turned into the poofiest, fluffiest mess of hair I've ever seen... It was HUGE!!

I've been... so-so. But I'm finding ways to go forward - my girls and my husband being the main one.
She's doing good!! We've finally managed to find a routine that works for everyone! And Norah seems to love being a big sister! :)

wow, the big fro looks really really good on you, but I can imagine it being harder to maintain than the cute, well groomed, mini fro ��

It looks so soft when its combed out!
We knew a white guy that sports an auburn fro bigger than your's....he was a young musician.
I always secretly wanted to pet his head cuz his hair looked sooo soft! Lol!

I think the combed out look suits you quite well!
Now, if only you had a personal hair dresser to comb out your hair for ya every day! Lol!

I, however, have a scar on my scalp where I pulled a sewing machine cabinet down on my head when I was little, and now the hair that grows from that scar is damaged....kinda frizzy and fragile....and it knots up...and when I rush to comb it out, that section of hair gets all poofy while the rest of my hair is straight and sleek...so I wet it all down to make it lay down....then I just avoid the mirrors! Lmao!
Lately, my hands hurt so bad its hard to hold the comb and I threaten to shave my head so I can avoid having to comb my hair! Lol!
....getting old sucks sometimes! I'm being reminded of how badly I abused my body when I was younger!

My hair is usually pretty soft. People are always surprised on the rare occasion that I let them touch my hair, they always say, "It's so soft!" And I'm like, "Yeah, what were you expecting?!" My hair is curly, yes, but it's still hair! xD

I really need to take an updated picture of my hair now. (Not when it's combed out!) It's almost boob length if I straightened it. I am going to get my hair cut again because my haircut now looks so stupid. It's longer on one side than the other and I mean... that's just stupid. xD So when it gets a little longer I'm going to cut it again and hopefully that will make it even.

It's a mop

Well...my grandma told me that "black" hair reminded her of brillo pads...till she got to touch some, and she was so surprised by the softness.
She said it was so soft that she wanted to crawl in and take a nap! Lol!
(She was a child at the time and had asked one of her aunt's servants if she could touch her hair....something her aunt would have frowned upon. My grandma spoke fondly of that "colored woman."....not so much about the aunt! Lol!)

My hair grows so unevenly that I have had one hair stylist accuse the previous stylist of cutting my hair poorly!
I haven't had my hair cut for at least 8 years, now.
I gave up on style and went for the Mountain Woman look, out of convenience! Lol!

I've been told that African hair is quite mystical to folks who don't have it. That's because they don't have to take care of it. *grins*

It's funny when people from different racial backgrounds start talking hair and such.

Since I don't wear my hair natural, people don't ask to touch it. Sometimes when they also have African hair and can't believe mine's real.

My ex wife made friends with a black girl she met waiting for my ship on the dock.
They got together for makeovers and such and she put my ex's hair up on her head and gave it a twist and of course it fell down. She stood there with her mouth open and my ex going, what???

I wish that I had hair that could hold a curl! I have naturally straight hair that hates holding curls. (It can... but it's hard to get it to stay for any length of time.)

I dyed my hair blue black, but my hair ended up turning green. :(
