I did a nail polish swap with one of my colleagues awhile back. We both took colors we didn't want anymore out of our collection and swapped them to change things up a bit. Didn't do much to get rid of any since we got different ones in return but it was pretty fun.

That's awesome! I gave away some of my unopened polishes during the holidays to friends. And I've been throwing in colors I thought people would like for birthdays.

I don't have any unopened polishes but that's a great idea! I would totally do that if I did. >.<

I mostly have unopened Juleps because of my monthly subscription. And I don't open the newer ones unless it is really a color I don't already have and want to wear right then and there.

Oooh, that makes sense.

I also have tons of sample products that I gave out too. While I love being subscribed to beauty services, it's hard for me to use everything. Dx

I give away some of my stuff at work that isn't really my color or a product that I use. My coworker is unsubscribing from Ipsy because she never seems to get stuff that's good for her.

Lol, I pretty much will try anything once. But now I have a million eyeliners, eye shadows, mascaras, face products, and body products that collect dust for now. And I'm not particularly good at the whole "what colors look good on me" bit.

And don't get me started on things like foundations and bb creams. Dx

There were a few things I didn't like: nail polish colors, lip balms (I hate having to get my finger all icky), a primer that was sparkly and made my skin look more oily than usual, eye shadows that are too dark, stuff like that. The blue eyeliner in particular was terrible on me.

I had lip balms that you need to use your finger.

And I'm usually open to trying most nail colors at least once. I don't open things if I have something I already use and like. Or if it is a foundation/bb cream since most times, they don't match my coloring.

I hate them. My fingers get all icky and then you end up wiping it on your pants or having to find a tissue. V_V

I usually use my polishes once right when I get them. There are plenty that I haven't ever worn a second time though... >.>

I LOVE French manicures. They're classic and look good with everything.
I rarely have my fingernails painted, though. Nail polish weakens my nails so badly and they peel and such. My toes are almost always painted, though.

Currently I'm loving my newer Del Sol nail polish, it's clear glitter and then in the sun it turns this rich magenta. Really pretty either way (:

I just want to say I second hating the lip balms in pots. Not so much for making fingers sticky, but that's so unsanitary....Especially when out in public. Your grubby fingers touch a lot of things that could be...contaminated. Uh oh my inner OCD is out.

Speaking of Ipsy...I'm gutted I didn't get the Rainbow Honey nail polish. I still got some interesting stuff in my bag, but I really wanted the polish. I did however get 500 points for the repeat item they sent me, or the option for a surprise extra in next bag. Part of me is wishing I went with the surprise as I may of gotten the polish...but probably slim chance? My thought was to go for the Kiss Nail art kit, and then I noticed the other day they sold out. :(

I'm also curious about Julep, and I'll probably subscribe for the free box then cancel. I've been waiting until they do some interesting nail colors in the 'free box' before I bite...right now I have similar colors in the it girl box currently running so I'm on the fence. That being said, it may take awhile before Julep does 3 polishes that I don't have that I'm real excited to try....

@ Izumi: I looked into ordering a free box of the polishes and then unsubscribing but you still have to pay something like $10 shipping for it so I decided against it.

In Julep's case, at least it's still almost half off the original box. However, if I wasn't already a Julep member, I don't think I would join now. Thankfully, I'm grandfathered in and don't get affected by some of the new changes to the program.

Yeah, it seems fun but also expensive and I don't really need any more polish at this point. >.<

Yeah, I think I originally got my first box for $5 or something. And like I said, I have quite a few unopened Juleps. Although I can skip months, which is really nice.

Ooh, yeah, being able to skip is a really nice feature.

I have wanted matte nail polish for so long.
I want a really, really dark blue matte polish. It just looks so classy



It's impossible for me to find them anywhere, though. I can only ever find
glossy nail polish. I have plenty of glossy nail polishes, I need THIS.
